We just moved in and everything has been so smooth. The apartment is clean and updated. Management is friendly and super helpful. Parking has been working out so far. Amenities and location are great.

The newly renovated lofts in this building are incredible. I love how much natural light my unit has from the full length windows with great views of the Ben Franklin. The old city location is ideal. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a centrally located spot in the city.

The management has been so helpful ever since I’ve moved into the property. They helped me use their freight elevator to move large furniture into my unit and have been so responsive to any of my requests when setting up the unit.

I couldn’t recommend this property more!

When I read the reviews from google I was confused. The Property is beautiful and very well kept. The surrounding neighborhood is very welcoming and has a great sense of community. The apartments themselves have been recently renovated, with preinstalled TV mounts, new flooring as well as keeping the old architecture and large window aesthetic.
I personally can only attest to how accommodating Sam and Dan where when I toured. Sam took the time to show me each of the units within my price range and I was given 2 months free on a 14 month lease.

TLDR: I found many German cockroaches in my unit, check in was a mess and owner/host is not responsive.

This building is awesome and the unit (1F) we stayed in through airbnb was really a perfect unit until I found multiple bugs which were identified and German cockroaches. They are very tiny but still harmful and gross. One was found on the bed upon check in and I tried so hard to brush it off. I found another crawling on the bathroom wall later that day and then 5 more in the bathroom on the second night of our stay. It was too late to do anything at that point so the next morning I followed up with airbnb customer support who were helpful in getting me another airbnb. My partner found more bugs in the sink when we woke up this morning. The host and I assume owner of the building, Daniel, was unresponsive all morning. He didn’t reply until 1:45PM offering another unit but at that point I had already packed, left, and booked a new location. Additionally, check in was a hassle. Larry, the door guy, was helpful in storing our luggage for the day until check in which he said was 3PM although it was listed as 4PM on the airbnb app. Our keypad code was not provided to us prior to check in and Larry had to let us in our unit per Daniel’s request… only after we tried to contact Daniel ourselves with no response. Daniel TOLD me to update my phone number on the app but I had already been receiving his automated texts except not the one with our code which came in at 3:37AM the following day. This place has potential but my experience was unpleasant and I left extremely dissatisfied.

While they’re beautiful apartments in what used to be a quiet and safe area at the back end of Old City, the property management company was a joke, and the owner disregarded his tenants (some who lived there for 10+ years). We all received notice via mail that they would not be renewing any leases, as the owner turned the entire building into short term rentals.

The community in that building was like none I’ve ever experienced while living in a city. Instead of recognizing that these were our homes, and that we took care of the building and spaces surrounding it, we were all kicked to the curb. Offers to buy individual units (again, by tenants of 10+ years) were denied and the new short term management company came in to renovate and turn each beautiful unit into a cheap hotel vibe. The last few months that we lived there were nonstop construction, paired with short term renters knocking on our doors at 10pm at night because they couldn’t figure out how to use a thermostat.

Stay Alfred, the short term rental company closed down not even 10 months after this decision was made and now it appears these units are up for rent. I caution anyone looking to sign here, there will be zero regard for your privacy and your home, based on our experiences.

The apartments themselves are very pretty with lots of light, however dealing with Sam and Dan (the building owners) was a nightmare. They made lots of promises trying to get me to sign the lease (such as discounting parking, the pet fee, and the rent) and then went back on their word when it came time to sign the lease (after I had already turned down my other renting locations to sign here).
Oh well, I ended up just walking but I kept my pride. Buyer beware these owners are sleazy and have a history of being so (like how they kicked out all the long term tenants to give the building to a short term leasing company “stay alfred”. Since stay alfred went bankrupt they are managing the rentals themselves now.
