Riverwards Produce Market - Old City

Great store for the neighborhood. You can get unique products there. Fresh vegetables and fruits. They have a smoothie stand and they make awesome smoothies. I found this gem and had to have it.

100% THE BEST grocery store in Philly. Fresh organic produce everyday from local and sustainable farms in PA and NJ, really great local brands and products, a bulk section, and beautifully arranged fresh cut flowers. I've always loved their Fishtown location but their new location in Olde City is BEAUTIFUL and has an amazing juice bar and every single thing is banging. Better quality and better prices than ACME.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, everyone is really cool and down to earth. Really great to be able to support a small business that supports other small business and local farms. 1000/10!!!

SO EXCITED that they are in the neighborhood! Old City now has a fabulous new local grocery store and we just visited this afternoon. Beautiful produce, an amazing cheese selection, and so many locally sourced products! It also has a grainery (see attached pics) with a huge selection for sustainable groceries. Besides catering to meat lovers with gourmet sausage selections and meats, there was also a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan selections. Really friendly staff too. Highly recommend shopping here. :)

Wonderful addition to the neighborhood. So glad they mindfully repurposed a building that has been sitting unused for soooo long. It’s also right behind our office, which is phenomenal ❤

Loved this new location! I am happy to see they have another location. Hoping they open more shops like this around Philly.

Amazing place to come for specialty goods! Definitely cannot do a normal, full grocery shop here (it would be too expensive and the selection just isn’t conducive to that IMO), but to pop in for a treat such as locally baked goods (vegan and regular options), locally baked bread, herbs and local produce, to buy dry goods such as flour, sugar, etc in bulk, get something you can’t find anywhere else… this store is amazing! I will truly be sad to leave the area because it will mean I can no longer come in here for a stroll, to buy an amazing sourdough loaf, or to buy a great vegan cookie. 10/10.

Think of a Trader Joe's but with everything local. Terrific food and plants. They must treat the employees well because they always seem happy, and there are often nice pop ups right outside. The only negative is Bread Street is difficult to walk on since it's old historic cobblestone. If you're mobility is limited you might want to approach from Race Street.

So happy to have Riverwards Produce in Old City! Our entire team frequently visits and the staff is all helpful and incredibly friendly.
Its a great spot to pick up a bite to eat for lunch and then pick up a few items to make dinner when you get home.

First of all cannot say enough good things about the people that work here. The kindest, patient, and welcoming bunch of people. The produce selection is fair. Love the seasonality. The chocolate shelf is a cant miss for me. Don’t miss out on the sale items! Also don’t know why but the way that front register in between the doors is situated is both charming and a little off putting.

Small produce-grocery store located on a small alleyway type street typical of center city. Produce looked very colorful and fresh. Nice local spot for the neighborhood people.

Always a great selection of everything from dry goods to unique seasonal produce. Love the juice bar here... I walk all the way from Fishtown just to get the Power lunch smoothie– it rocks! Long live Riverwards

So happy to have Riverwards in Old City! The food is great quality at fair prices. They feature local businesses which is fantastic. The pre-made sandwiches/salads are a nice convenience and the smoothies are great too! Always have beautiful flower arrangements as well.

Great selection, this style of store that respects the neighborhood and should have been here for years has finally arrived. It is great to be able to find what you need with the quality you expect. The one drawback has nothing to do with the store the neighborhood association has to be willing to repair the road so it can become more wheelchair accessible. Or whoever is responsible if it's not then. This needs to be done now to make it fully welcoming to all.

Their produce, especially, is outstanding in both selection and quality. And, their organic and wholesome grocery items are similarly outstanding.
BTW, the staff is unfailingly positive and helpful without being overbearing.

Thank god for Riverwards opening in Old City! Prior to their opening Old City was a barren wasteland for food shopping. They have an amazing selection and awesome juice bar with a seasonal menu. They also take suggestions from their customers on what to carry which we really appreciate.

A gem, and a much needed local business. For years we've had to rely either on corner stores or long walks to get groceries. Now, we aren't getting ripped off for far higher quality ingredients than the corner store... and without the hassle of going to another part of the city. To top it off, they appear to pay workers well and the produce is excellent. A bit bourgeoisie with the curation of dry goods - but it is all in the name of pushing for good quality and sustainable products. That said - the tree-free toilet paper is trash and easily among the worst TP I've ever used...

Such a lovely selection of produce and gourmet pantry items. And the friendliest staff in the biz.
