Thai Basil

Visited Vermont for the day and stopped by here for some tasty Thai food. Oh my gosh, this is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to. Was so pleasantly surprised by the explosion of authentic flavors in the:

PAPAYA SALAD
The fresh, green papaya had such a crunchy bite to, holding true to the authenticity of Thai food. The best papaya salad I’ve ever had was in Chiang Mai, Thailand and I would say this is a close second. Which is saying a lot! The simplicity of ingredients is what makes a papaya salad so tasty, from the shredded carrots to crunchy green beans to the spicy Thai chilies and chopped peanuts. Every bite was tangy, crunchy, spicy and a party of flavors and textures in your mouth.

KEE MAO/DRUNKEN NOODLES
This dish HANDS DOWN best drunken noodles I’ve had in the states and that’s saying so much. I am always on the hunt for some good drunken noodles and the search ends here. Oh my goodness, the noodles were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of bite to it. The veggies that were sautéed in went along great with the sauces that were tossed in, so freaking tasty. The spice level was PERFECT love a good medium-hot spice level. So flavorful and so incredibly satisfying.

PANANG CHICKEN CURRY
A deliciously rich and creamy curry with so many flavor elements from the coconut base to red curry to layer of spices. Every bite was so tasty and the chicken was perfectly tender and well salted. Such a tasty Thai curry dish!

Service was so friendly and fast. Our food came out hot and fresh, the way every place should be! The food is truly next level here.

What a cute restaurant and busy location with so many fun shops around it! Will definitely come back here on my next trip to Vermont 😊

Incredible! The cocktails and food are amazing. We had the lychee and maple cocktails and they were SO good! I was a little concerned that the maple might be overdone, but it blended beautifully with the rest of the ingredients. Several of our party had the duck and all loved it, especially the lemongrass one. I had the veggie egg rolls (lovely) and the tofu "on the greens". We all raved about our food and the service was excellent.

It’s Manchester…leaf-peeping season…estate sales…everything is beautiful here, including the dining experience at Thai Basil! Flock to here – now – as this is some of the best Thai food most expertly prepared in a hundred-mile radius!

Satay Chicken appetizer – perfectly grilled and the peanut sauce is subtle but complex. Pot stickers and dumplings – wonderful and the soy and curry sauces are outstanding.

I ordered the Mango Curry Red Snapper (also available with Salmon) and OMG it was delicious. It is a large portion (if you’re a light eater you’ll take half home) with large chunks of fish, and the best advice given to me is save some of the bread on the table because you will want to swipe every last bit of sauce on your plate. Yes it is that good!

Our party of four with reservations had a bit of a wait but given all the challenges restaurants have these days we didn’t mind. Parking in front is a challenge if it’s the weekend but there’s plenty of parking if you’re willing to walk a few minutes.

Overall – this is a nice departure from the usual American food menu and you’ll love everything on the menu. If you haven’t been here you’re missing out!

The best Thai food I have had yet. The Thai Basil Roll is delectable. The peanut sauce is just the best. 👏 🤍

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at Thai Basil to end our camping trip and Manchester stroll with a golden key and oooh they delivered! We had the Siam stir fry and it was perfection in form of food! Our friends had the teriyaki chicken which also looked very yummy and the basil spring rolls were so refreshing! We’re decided on making this a necessary stop whenever we’re around again!

The Khao Soi Duck was the best rendition of Khao Soi I’ve ever had; the duck in lieu of the usual chicken made it that much more tasty and special. Cocktails are great (stiff pours), service was attentive without being smothering, and the restaurant itself is a nice place to be on an evening in Manchester. I’ll come back again and again for the Khao Soi!

Everything was so good!! Panang curry and pad see ew ( very garlicky) were amazing . Basil spring rolls with shrimp inside and peanut sauce were good. Got mango sticky rice to go and that was also good, semi-sweet and delicious. Staff was very friendly. Just the right size portion, but could’ve eaten more since it was so good. Everyone at our table loved their meal and we all ordered different things

Amazing food, best calamari I've ever had. The Pad Thai was incredible, and the mango curry was a thing of dreams.

I just left Thai Basil. My mother and I ate here after skiing at Stratton. It is an excellent restaurant. The food was delicious. She had the Panang curry and I had the cashew stir fry, both with chicken. We loved our dishes. The edamame appetizer was a generous portion and was very flavorful, even though it had less salt than we are used to at other Asian restaurants. The food was also much less expensive than the decor would suggest!

We drove an hour to get here because we have eaten here before and love the food.

A reasonably priced very tasty meal with unique Thai options. You MUST make a reservation many weekend nights.

Delicious! I had the pad thai which was very good. The steamed dumplings were excellent. Lots of gluten free options. Lovely patio seating.

The experience was fabulous. Atmosphere, food and customer service excellent!! Will definitely make it a point to go back when in Vermont.

Pretty good for Thai food in Vermont!

Located right on Main St. Service was relatively fast and the one dish I had was pretty good: the pineapple curry with New Zealand Green Mussels. Decently spicy with a great contrast in flavors! Staff was very friendly, great atmosphere!

We ate outside, and outdoor seating is always a plus. Everything we had was good! We had multiple apps and entrees. I love that you can pick your spice level. Another great aspect is the multiple margherita flavors. I'll definitely be back!

I have to admit Namtok dish and papaya salad give me kinda authentic Thai style vibe! They both taste great! Plus, service is nice and polite!

Our dinner was great and freshly prepared. I loved the fried potstickers, and my iced tea was great. The green curry was seriously delicious. The mango sticky rice was amazing too. Presentation of the food was good, and drinks weren't full of ice. The price was great as well. Fantastic experience, we will definitely come again.

My favorite restaurant in Manchester. If you're looking for great food at a nice spot down restaurant this is the place to go!

Absolutely delicious food. The Massaman curry was fabulous, little spice everything in balance could taste all the flavors. My friends had the dumplings and spring rolls and enjoyed their meals as well. We were serenaded with beautiful piano music during our meal. The place is always packed now I know why, its so good. Best to make reservations. The wonderful staff found us a little table so we could have our delicious meal, after a long day of sightseeing. Thank you! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Ordered takeout from Thai Basil on our vacation to Manchester. Ordered three dishes for dinner. Quick and efficient! Food was super yummy too! Wish we had a spot like this in NJ.
