Great location by the lake and walking distance to the charming town. Beautiful walk around the lake to the beach or to the Town.
Well appointed rooms (no elevator for upper rooms)
Suites are a nice size with varying amenities.
Parking was OK for our Spring time visit, not sure how Summer will be. Limited on site parking.

I was the organizer of a Respite Weekend for moms of special needs children. Dee, one of the managers, was amazing to work with. The moms raved about their rooms, each had it's own theme/decor. The public sitting areas were plush and comfortable. The breakfast area was amazing.
Coffee/Tea/Water available throughout the day.
I was in Room 29 and I loved the breakfast bar with the view outside the window and the bed was so comfortable. A friend was in room 4 and we chatted on her porch all night. (even though it was a chilly March weekend, we wore our jackets). Another friend was in Room 11 and one of the two nights she slept on the couch! We all enjoyed our "me" time in a special way!
I am looking forward to working with Dee and the HW staff again. Thank you for an amazing weekend.

Was in the area for my cousins wedding we had a suite at the Hewitt Wellington...it was beautiful my room was awesome right on the first floor as requested. Just the area alone was beautiful.... My wife, Lynn, and I stayed at The Hewitt Wellington for 3 nights recently and had a wonderful experience. We reserved suite 5 which was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. We had a nice view of the lake and also enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch. Also, it’s only two blocks from the beach. The entire staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend staying at The Hewitt Wellington when in Spring Lake

I booked the Hewitt Wellington for my wedding hotel room blocks for guests, as well as for myself and my now husband for our wedding. The location and hotel is beautiful, and we took some amazing photos there before we left for the ceremony.
I would say the only things we noticed were that the carriage house rooms were completely separate from the hotel (our fault for not realizing that, but anyone booking these rooms, please note) and at first, a bit hard to find (maybe it was also that we arrived at night, and it was torrential rain that made it extra difficult?). They are also a bit smaller than the pictures look online, however they were updated and really nice inside while we were getting ready the morning of. Even though the rooms were separate from the hotel, they felt very private and kept me unnoticed to any of our guests staying there before the ceremony began.
Everyone from the hotel were very nice and friendly. They also have a small continental breakfast in the hallway behind the front desk each morning which was a nice touch.
For parking, please abide by what the hotel says on their website. We tried informing all of our guests, however there was at least one that unfortunately received a parking ticket while parked in one of the side street spots. There's parking in the rear of the hotel, as well as the angled spots in front. Additional parking is available by the boardwalk 2 blocks down.
With all that said, we plan on staying again next year for our anniversary. Thank you!

This cute little hotel is very clean and comfortable. I came here to attend a wedding down the road and spent the night and wished I had stayed longer. The room felt like a 1 bedroom apt with a living room, bedroom, hallway closet and bathroom. Bed was comfortable and had a daybed in the room in case you needed an extra bed if you have kids stay with you. Definitely would recommend.

My wife and I have stayed her four times now. The staff is very hospitable and takes care of their guests. Rooms have a unique charm to them. If you stay on the 2nd floor (as we have) you'll have two flights of stairs to climb, but we view it as exercise! We plan to stay here again.

Nice, clean and Quaint for a lovely getaway in Spring lake. Comfy bed, nice living room and outdoor deck and pool. I’ll be back because Spring Lake NJ is beautiful and this hotel is only a couple of blocks from the beach. The front desk attendant Renee is so helpful and friendly and the manager Matthew is terrific and runs the facility wonderfully! Very good continental breakfast selection as well!! I needed a break from the Hilton and Marriot’s. Sitting on the front porch on a rocking chair with a view of Spring lake was so soothing!!!!! I’m rejuvenated…..

Always a fan of some of these amazing old-school locations spanning the Jersey Shore. Visited for a quick trip during the off-season, and the check-in was easy, staff was extremely polite and helpful, and the location is great if you want to just have a chill time near the beach. Room was HUGE compared to what we're all used to in most hotels, and for a really affordable price. It was nice to have all the creature comforts of a "new" place (flat screen TV, nice fridge, great wifi) with the vibe of days past. Front porch is a lovely spot to sit and take a breather (or enjoy a beverage), coffee and breakfast were super convenient, and who doesn't like being able to walk outside (or peek out the the window) and see the ocean?

My husband and I got married in Spring Lake and we rented out the Hewitt Wellington for our wedding party and guests -- it was perfect! My husband and I also stayed here on our wedding night. It's the perfect location too -- if you're looking for a weekend away, or need a hotel block for your wedding, we HIGHLY recommend the Hewitt Wellington!

Very nice hotel. The room was very big and clean. We stayed in room number 1. It has a living room area with a sofa, refrigerator, microwave and TV, and a bedroom. Continental breakfast is included. 7 minutes walk to the beach and main area . We loved the hotel and the staff. This our favorite hotel so far. We will be back next year.

Everything about this place is AMAZING. The building and rooms are gorgeous. The manager Mathew is top notch. We had our wedding here and they could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I feel like Mathew made our special day come true. He planned with us for months, he checked on us and HELPED with everything. (I built an arbor for the wedding and he came out to help) He made sure things were in tip top shape and every single time I saw him for the 4 days we were there, he was working and smiling from before we get up till after we went to sleep. I really cant say enough about how perfect this place is with its 1870s charm and friendly wonderful staff. If i could give a hundred stars i would

I was so pleasantly surprised by the HW. I came here for accommodations in November (off season) for 1 night and the hotel, grounds, and service were very well kept and received. The room (for 4 people, Rm 22) was cozy and functional I couldn't believe this hotel was built in the 1800s! No weird smells, the carpets and bathroom were clean and the lobby attendant was so hospitable. Would absolutely return if I am in the area. **For handicap guests please note there are no elevators make sure when you book you ask for an ADA friendly room. It's not easy to tell from the website, best to call.

The staff is friendly and helpful. We checked in a little early. The rooms are great. I'm not sure if everyone gets a bathroom as big as ours, but we had about 80sqft. The pool is great if you don't feel like taking a stroll to the beach, which is only a couple blocks away. The do provide beach badges too. The restaurant here is also amazing. I highly recommend getting their lobster. It looks like it caters more to families and older crouds, I'm on the younger side but didn't mind at all. I would easily come back.

Very friendly staff, amazingly clean rooms as well! I stayed for two nights and loved every secind of it. It's very peaceful, and has a beautiful view of the most gorgeous lake in NJ. Oh, and it's about 4 blocks away from the beach. No complaints here, I highly recommend staying here.

I really enjoyed my time at the hotel. The staff is very nice most of the time and the view is amazing. The hotel is on a lake and it is very close to town, along distance. You can run on the boardwalk and around the lake. The back is only a few blocks away and the break area is great. The only con is that there is they only give you two beach badges. The ac is really good and the rooms can be as hot or cold as you want. I go down every year here and its great location and amazing looking rooms and esthetic never loose thier charm!

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend on the Jersey shore. The hotel is very charming and picturesque. We had rented a car and were easily able to make our way to the shore, especially Asbury Park. The staff was friendly, and breakfast was available every morning.

Wife and I absolutely love this hotel. The location is within easy walking distance of the beach. The porch is a great place to spend an evening and the decor/architecture of the hotel will really let you feel like you are escaping to the fancy beach home we all wish we had.
