Plato's Closet Bloomington

Literally every single time I come to Plato’s everyone is beyond nice! They have such great customer service even when passing on items! They always have really cute clothes too! I don’t think I’ve ever left without buying something 🤭

Very nice store, great employees found exactly what I was looking for.

After losing 50lbs I have been needing to replace most of my wardrobe. Even if I had tons of bucks, I decided a while ago that it's important to me to buy second hand as much as possible for environmental reasons. I think Goodwill has some poor business practices (you can't try anything on, and can only return for store credit), so I began shopping at Plato's Closet.I don't expect to get an entire 'haul' at one time, but have been pleased with all my purchases. Good going Plato's Closet!

Plato's was always my favorite place to go for clothes before I started working there because the prices are unbeatable and the items in the store are all super unique and cute. This summer, after working there for about two months now, I'm even more in love. The staff are all super friendly even when I was still fumbling and messing up with all the duties of the job and as always there seems to be a never-ending stock of items I'm dying to buy. Definitely my favorite place to shop in Bloomington by far :)

4 years ago, I gave a 2 star review because I had a bad experience multiple times. I decided to give Plato’s Closet Bloomington another chance, and let me say, the customer service and the staff are much kinder and better than they were a few years ago. You can tell there has been a LOT of improvement. The store is more organized, the staff is more helpful and friendly, they are more straight forward with their policies, etc. I am very impressed. I have found a lot of good clothing here lately and I’m very happy to say I will be coming back more often. Keep it up! You guys are doing great.

Years ago My Daughter had a bad experience there. We were treated so rudely we did not come back for years. Today was the opposite we were treated with much respect. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door with a smile. The Store looked very clean all items clearly marked. My Daughter and I found some treasures. We will come back and we will recommend this Store to others. I love the point system this encourages You to come back!

I'm not a big shopper, but I stop by here often since I live close by, and I like to look at their IU apparel rack (some of which is team issued and worn by players which is really cool). The other day I found some brand new Nike workout gear at half the retail price. The workers are very friendly, and often say a greeting when I walk in. Their return policy is within 7 days and store credit instead of refund, which is understandable since it's a resale shop (but good to keep in mind before you buy).

I always enjoy 2nd hand shopping. You never know what you're going to find. I appreciated the organized displays & merchandise. Customer's favorite brands were prominently displayed. Other merchandise was shelved or hung by merchandise type(skirts, pants, etc.), size AND color. Merchandise was in good condition and reasonably priced. There is a reward program. We received 10 bonus points for using our own bags. Staff were professional, informed, and courteous. A lovely shopping experience.

I absolutely love working here. Everyone is extremely nice and very understanding, especially to students! I shopped here even before working here and til this day I still do! Everyone is super welcoming and very helpful if you’re looking for a certain piece of clothing.

Every time I come here, I always find amazing items! The clothing they have from brands like American Eagle, H&M, Zara, Urban outfitters, etc, is reliable on fantastic deals and being up with what I want to wear. I've also bought really nice high items, like a big coach purse and brand new white patent leather Docs, for only $50! They always have some really nice designer purses and perfumes, it's impossible not to find something I love. And I feel that people always forget that they have some really cute home decor items! My boyfriend also loves to go in with me, he always struggles not to buy a pair of shoes when he goes in. It's my favorite clothing store in Bloomington by a long shot!

Love love love, Plato’s! I always find a beautiful purse at a great price and got brand new Nikes that fit perfectly. The hard-working staff is helpful and friendly. Great store!

IM OBSESSED WITH PLATOS. they have hands down the cutest clothes in Bloomington and not only that, but all of it is 50-70% off of retail price. I legitimately have not shopped anywhere else in probably 2 years. My favorite thing is to bring in my items for cash and use that towards my purchases. You can even receive points for selling clothes to them. This makes it sooo easy to rack up rewards points. EVEN BETTER it's affordable and sustainable. Why would you not want to get a new affordable wardrobe, while helping to reduce textile waste. ALSO they have the nicest employees and the cutest instagram that you can shop off of. I could go on and on and on, but Platos Closet is one of the best places in Bloomington and if you haven't gone you are missing out!!!!

I am currently the assistant manager here and have been here for over three years. This store is clean, well-organized and stocks amazing clothes. I buy 90% of my wardrobe here, and usually sell frequently. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the customers are great with only a few exceptions! We often get compliments on how our store looks and the great selection of clothes we have. We may be slightly more selective than other Platos simply because we have IU in Bloomington, so we get a lot of variety and many great quality, trendy, unique pieces. If you ever have any questions about how our store works, we are always happy to respond! Needless to say, I love working here.

Prices are not bad and the payment was not bad. Only bad side is thay they told me they would text me when they were ready then they never did. I went to kroger came back an hour later then proceeded to wait an additional 43 minutes until I realized that they had forgot. Overall not a bad experience just make sure YOU keep track of the time because they can get busy. They also do not donate clothes so be prepared to take a bunch back. Over all a good experience.

Platos is a great environment to work in with a bunch of awesome looks for reasonable prices. I highly recommend shopping and working there if you want to be around those great deals all the time ! The team is very kind and inclusive and work very well together!! Great lil thrift shop :-))

Pretty trendy place. Awesome variety. They offer reasonable prices for used clothing that is in good condition. Abundance of hipsters. Before you try to donate items to Goodwill, it's worth bringing your things by to see if they are interested in them.

My FAVORITE place to shop in Bloomington! Just got a beautiful pair of Dr. Martens at a great price! The staff was so nice and helpful. They have a cool selection of unique and popular items!!
