Taste of India

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and we finally did. We walked in and was seated immediately. The restaurant was clean and colorful. Our server was courteous, pleasant, and attentive. Attentive. We also didn't know how to pronounce the dishes and he was very patient with us. We ordered the Butter naan, Chicken Makani, Shrimp Biryani and ot pictured, Chicken Pakora with a mint sauce and a tamarind sauce. Our food arrived quickly was hot and delicious. The first thing we got was the chicken pakora. I was fried chicken fingers with a chickpea batter. These were the best chicken fingers I ever ate. Moist, tender and delicious on their own but with the tamarind sauce they were excellent. The shrimp biryani was tasty and authentic. The shrimp was about 1 minute overcooked. This is not a big ding when you're cooking for the masses. Parking was easy. There's a lot behind the restaurant or you can park on the street. There was enough leftover for us to take home for dinner. The chicken makani was delicious. I could have ordered a dozen of the naan-bread and a gallon of the Makani and taken it home.

Get a taste of explosion! Must try ever dish they have. Worth every penny! The ambience is cozy too! 😋

Would give ten stars if possible. Ever walk down 4th Street Bloomington and smell something wonderful? It's most likely Taste of India. I would highly recommend stepping out of your usual food choices and try something new... Taste of India's food is my new addiction. I will be back time and time again. Great environment, great service, and such wonderfully tasting food. They even have lunch buffet options that are worth it.

I had the lunch buffet as this was only my second time having Indian food...I tried some of everything and wasn't disappointed by anything I tried, everything was delicious! I especially loved the Goat curry! Service was exceptional, my water glass was always full, and my needs were anticipated without being cloying. It was truly a lovely experience, I can't wait to go again! I officially love A Taste of India and Indian food 😋

Taste of India is a cultural gem, family friendly and open 365 days a year, offering a delightful lunch buffet at $14.99 and authentic menu cuisine. This family restaurant embraces standard ma and pa etiquette, making it cheaper to pay in cash, and they graciously serve complimentary naan when you dine in. As a member of the cultural and religious community, it has become a staple for me, providing comfort in times of happiness and need. Highly recommended for a genuine taste of Indian comfort food. The food isn't spicy unless you ask for it.

The food is really good. Not spicy and still very tasty. Service was good as well. Our server was Jaydeep. He suggested a good dish and service was quick.

The lunch buffet at Taste of India tastes much better than India Garden. It costs $15 + tip.

Seriously so good! The service was great. Restaurant was clean. Food was SO Delicious! My kids wouldn't stop taking my food! We ate the butter chicken, garlic Naan, chicken Tikka masala, chicken curry, Naan, the mango lassi, and some kind of mango fruit stuff! Just really fantastic

Taste of India is always a great place to eat. I have had the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, samosa chaat, and now tandoori mixed grill and all are fantastic. The curries are all excellent but if you are looking for something else I recommend the tandoori mixed grill. The meats are all cooked perfectly and it comes with a delicious sauce on the side. Always get the garlic naan!

A nice Indian restaurant! We ordered butter naan, chicken masala and butter lamb. Butter lamb is very tasted and creamy! Will visit it again

What an awesome experience!! We came from Indianapolis to see our grandson and went there. Outstanding all around from the moment we walked in!! Stellar service and great tasting food. We ordered variety of dishes and all were up to the par!! Definitely our next stop when we come again!!!+

This is some of the finest Indian cuisine I’ve had in the US. I come all the way from Denver to eat here! If you’re in Bloomington, you gotta try it.

Definitely one of my favorite places in town! I always get the butter chicken with naan, it’s so creamy and delicious! The staff is really friendly.

We Love eating here. It is a rare treat that we do when we go camping on Lake Monroe. The service is excellent, the food even better. I love the rice pudding and mango deserts.

If you are visiting Bloomington and want to try authentic Indian taste with amazing service, Taste of India is a great place to be. We came here thinking it will be a mediocre experience but it exceeded my expectations and enjoyed the food and service completely. They have seating arrangements for 8nddor and out door and also have sufficient parking spots also if you come on busy day you can park on street but street parking is paid so carry coins or use park mobile app. I will recommend trying Tajmahal beer if you want to try indian beer and in appetizers we ordered pakodas and mirchi bada which was amazing. In main course we ordered shahi paneer, malai kofta, Jalfarazi, with butter naan and garlic naan. Every thing was well balanced and tasted amazing. The servers will try extra to make you feel good and service is super fast. I definitely recommend coming here and enjoy so.e great service and good food.

Excellent restaurant to get made to order authentic Indian cuisine. Perfectly spiced with exceptional flavors. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Call it in on a lazy night and slide into the free parking spot right out front. Your food is ready in seconds and you are hot boxing your car with the most glorious spice clouds ever. The chicken tikka has the highest bar of any indian food made in america. Taste of Thai does it right. Chicken is melt in your mouth good and the sauce has some serious depth. Aloo ghobi and fried cheese are excellent meat alternatives. Will be back.
