Fitts Park

Growing up, we called this place duck park. The ducks would be waiting for people to show up with bread. Now, there are signs up not to feed the ducks. There are 3 separate playgrounds with slides for the kids and a great sidewalk that goes all the way around the park. In the back of the park, there is a work-out obstacle course and a bike road with arrows and parking places. My boys pretended to be race cars, and we ran around back there for a while. All in all, it's a fun neighborhood park. I have lots of memories of this place as a kid.

Update: the playground just got updated with new rubber floor and new play features for the kids. It's really really cool...

Great park, it has a playground, an exersice section with a race track, and a zip line. It also has a river where you can see the ducklings during spring. Great to visit any day.

It was pretty cool I was walking Hank my awesome pit. We weren't planning on going for a huge walk but he had a lot of energy and we ended up at fitts park. It was a nice day but it wasn't crowded. There was a few people walking their dogs and a rather hot young lady playing fetch with hers in the main field. Hank had a lot of fun chasing the little river critters. He almost caught a squirrel but it may have been my fault he didn't catch it.

A very beautiful park! Four different play areas to choose from for the kids. It has nice grass and a little stream. The stream has a bit of algae :/ Other then that, it's a good park to go have a picnic at or play :D It also has a restroom.

My kids and I love going to this park. Bathroom is always well maintained except for the hand dryer. It needs to be fixed. Our last visit there we spotted 2 snakes so be careful when taking your kids or pets. Keep them away from areas that still have bushes.

Fitts park is a beautiful park. Great place to walk dogs or have a picnic. It's consistently active with people but never terrible busy. Lots of trees and shady on warm days.

South Salt Lake has a little gem right here!! I visit this park daily with my dog. The city does a great job with the maintenance. The pavilions are always clean, they provide dog waste bags, and the trash is emptied daily. I love the walk path that takes you around the park. You pass a Veterans memorial and some trees with memorial plaques. There are creeks that run through it with cute little bridges and a Monarch Butterfly garden . There's 2 playgrounds for kiddos and benches placed throughout the park to enjoy a quick rest. A few years ago they added a community garden and a little book exchange box. I highly recommend this park. Whether you want to rent a pavilion for an event, visit for a lunch in the shade, walk your dog, watch the ducks and squirrels, let your kids get some energy out or whatever! It's a wonderful and beautiful place.

Love this park, also do metal detecting and help clean up garbage while I'm at it. Keep our parks clean. It's everyones responsibility if using.

We walk our dog here very regularly. It's a very well maintained park. Always has some hustle and bustle to it. In the summer it's always busy but never feels crowded. You'll always be able to find a spot to relax or play. There are sun shades over the playground in the summer so your little ones won't be scorched while playing. A beautiful creek runs through it too.

I grew up near this park and I've always enjoyed it. It's been awhile since I've been to visit.I am so pleased to see the improvements they are making. It's a very clean, family oriented place to spend the afternoon having a BBQ or a party. Or walk the trails around the perimeter. The playgrounds looks so fun. Wish I was a kid again just to play. It's really a great little park. Watch for events throughout the summer. Lots of fun!

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this park was. Lots of shade in the pavilions and a really nice play structure. Lots of green fields and a creek as well. It was like a little hidden treasure.

great park, loved the fun little structures you could go on. my friends and i went because we wanted to swing on the swings, until we found out there were only 2 swings that could fit “adults” and the rest were baby swings. sad, but i get it. it’s a playground. other than that it was tons of fun. great neighborhood park !

Fitts Park has always been my family's first choice when going to the park. It's always filled with friendly people, and the different parts of the park offer a veriety of experiences. They recently added a bridge leading to a new section of the park, and the zipline is so much fun! You can also reserve a pavilion for parties, which often can be seen when we go there. The river is home to ducks in the summer, and in some shaded areas you might be able to see the fish!

They even have a kids' track for their wheeled toys :D
