Darley House

Beautiful home. Ive passed the darley house a million times in the past 33 years it never changes I love it 💛 as I child it was always the house of wonders to me lol as I grew older I learned the history of it. Amazing how so many things have changed in the surrounding area but yet the darley house stays the same its a unique time stamp for the tiny town of claymont. Also the old darley school is a well preserved peace of history as well. 💛🏠💛

My parents owned this home previously. They sold it to the state upon retirement so it would continue to be preserved as a historic site. My parents (Ray and Judith Hester) ran a bed and breakfast at the home called "The Darley Manor Inn". We renovated the entire home beforehand. It had not been lived in for several years, so it was a copious amount of work. New roof, bathrooms added, but we kept it "to the period". It was our pleasure to preserve history and honor F.O.C.
