Lockwood Forest

I did 3.7 miles in 1 hour and 35 minutes. One of the best trails that I've hiked so far. Nice wide, well marked trails that meander through the forest and along Fish Brook Reservoir. It's such a peaceful place with the birds chirping. I ran into several dogs, all were very friendly. There's two areas that bring you to a street, which you have to walk down to continue the trail a short distance away. Only a couple of muddy areas but easily maneuverable. There's several bridges to cross and a few waterfalls to see. I saw a red squirrel, a blue heron, a couple of turtles and lots of frogs. And to top it off, there are a couple of Porta Potties and a large play area with plenty of parkng. I highly recommend this trail.

Lots of water views and flowing streams; well marked trails that join into other local forests to make for a reasonably large hiking area

Such a great area to take the dog, walk, get good exercise. It's beautiful in the forest and great paths.

It's a small park, but very quickly you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. The trees are nice and tall, and you can hear the stream as you walk. We had a really nice picnic!

Beautiful paths, good variety of cross country jumps

Lovely forest trails. One side leads to a lake with water flowing over a rustic dam. Very old rhododendrons and azaleas bloom near the lake. Very peaceful place. Trails are occasionally used by horses.

Very easy trail. Has a nice open area towards the end.

Nice hiking trail but there were some pretty massive dogs running around that are owned by a house right around the location.

Hiked here since I was a kid. Wonderful place.
