Johnson's Restaurant and Dairy Bar

The food was excellent. For a party of 7, between the fried haddock, steak bombs, greek salad with chicken, fried clams, and fish sandwich, everything was delicious.
The restaurant is rustic, which makes it famous in its own right. The majority at my table were well over 70 and decided that Johnson's is now the place to go. The ice cream is amazing and there are endless flavors. The atmosphere is relaxed and many families dine here.
Not as a complaint, but as a note of commendation: There were a few mixups in the order, perhaps due to youth, but it seems that the mature management cleared it up fast. Thanks for a nice meal!

I haven't been here since I was a kid, and coming back was a treat. This is classic New England comfort food, fried seafood, burgers, chicken fingers, fries, dinners, ice cream, all the basics! And the best onion rings I've had in a long LONG time. Kind of limited parking and only a handful of family-style picnic tables though... Plenty of open seats when we were there, I'm not sure how it is all the time. But it's worth the trip... If you love that kind of food and atmosphere as I do, having grown up with it, then definitely stop in.

Great Little Roadside Dinner/Ice Creamery...

The employees were great. My wife had a 9:30 am craving for ice cream. Even though it was technically breakfast time, a wonderful young lady tries so hard to get my wife her softserve ice craving, but it didn't work because the ice cream machine wasn't turned on yet.

I plan on going back next time I'm delivering in the area. Breakfast looked great...

They have some of the best pistachio ice cream in New England!!! I almost took all of it home with me yesterday!!! I've never gone inside or ate the food there but one day I will. I'm hooked on their ice cream though.

Love this little spot. Had a delicious Benny breakfast, came quick and tasted great. Nice people and family atmosphere. Hope to come back and try the legendary onion rings 😊

Excellent food prepared fresh is their normal routine. Staff is attentive and experienced. Inside seating is fun and very casual. Plenty of parking. Food came quickly with a smile.

I ordered the coconut and Snickers ice cream on a sugar cone, and they were delicious! My friend ordered mint and cherry chocolate chunk ice cream, and we both loved our orders! The staff was very sweet and took the orders quickly. We will definitely go back once we have the chance.

Everything was amazing omg, def don't miss out on the grilled muffin 🤯 super cute inside and cozy, staff are so nice!!

I live in Laos on the other side of the world, literally. But whenever I come back to the States to visit family, I definitely can't wait to come here for the fried claims. The staff is always a pleasure to see, can't wait to stop in this summer!

I stop in here whenever I'm traveling through with my horse trailer. Easy to park and eat in or take out. Food is great and so is the ice cream!

Food was great. The picture of the banana split looks bigger than the actual banana split that is served. Loved the atmosphere and the prices were reasonable.

We go there to celebrate all our special days . We love the atmosphere and the food. Seating is minimal but we like it because the customers can easily communicate with each other and it can become a fun and informative visit... (Getting to know people from other places). Love it!! 😄

Great expedience at Johnsons. Their Cinnamon Bun French Toast is amazing, and the food was varied and delicious.
The over east eggs were cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of runnyness. The only reason I gave service a 3 is because there really isn't any. You order at the front counter. They do bring the food to your table, but then you "buss" your table before leaving. The staff is friendly and helpful at the counter.

Hard for me to give 5 starts but this trip to Johnson’s hit it out of the park. Dinner was excellent, kids both got chicken parm over ziti (a special), lobster roll for the wife and I got the combo plate of clam strips and scallops. All food was cooked perfectly and quickly. Of course saved room for ice cream, which was always excellent. A great family dinner with some perfect New England seafood favorites.

We live locally and this is our place we like to go to if we are craving seafood (without the drive to the beach). The food is consistently good- the portions are large! They have a huge menu with lots of yummy options. They also have indoor and outdoor seating options. You easily order at the outside windows or inside counter and then seat yourself. 👍

We moved here from out of state. I'm working down the street and I tell everyone I can about this place! The ice cream is delicious and there are so many flavors to choose from. To the people complaining about prices, I think you get wear you pay for. This is homemade delicious ice cream and huge portions- worth every penny IMHO :) Can't wait to go back again!
