Beans and Barley

I’ve been to Beans and Barley in Mequon 3 times since they opened, including the opening weekend. The food was very good, freshly prepared and served promptly. That was a real accomplishment because they were very successful on their opening weekend and were out of several of their menu items. I sat at the counter and listened as they apologized to people ordering but that they had far more guests than they anticipated. I know that was true as there was literally no parking left when I arrived. I felt bad as I have some food allergies that required some special instructions and they were professional, observant and helpful. Which was better than most restaurants who have not just survived their opening. I was very pleased with my visits and am very excited that they are a fixture in the neighborhood.

One of the BEST things to have in Mequon. Knowing my favorite sweet potato burrito (it's the only thing i ever have because it's THAT good) and their amazing chips & green salsa are less than 3 miles from home makes me so happy!! I look forward to trying more of their amazing food as well on one of my many visits to the Public Market. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood for sure!!

Yay! I am so happy Beans and Barley is now in Mequon. Same great food and service as the original East Side location but much more convenient for me. Now I can have my favorite turkey rueben without having to drive across town.

The food is delicious and the service is always great. One of my favorite restaurants in town for any meal. Love the east side Milwaukee and Mequon locations.

This is a must! We live in Green Bay and travel to Milwaukee often. Beans and Barley is our absolute favorite. The drinks, food, desserts, staff, ambiance...it’s all spot on.

We love to come here with our family. Good quality, delicious food for all of us. Definitely one of our favorite regular spots.

I have eaten here three times recently. The food and service is always excellent.

Our relatively simple order for two adults and two children: took 25 mins to put together, was missing an entire meal and a variety of “included” sides, lacked much substance, and set me back over $60. For example, the $9 guac and chips came with a handful of chips and a tiny cup (maybe 1oz?) of guacamole. Even as the staff improve on service and order accuracy, the menu is simply not worth the money.

Customer service sucked here. The waitresses are clearly still in the learning process but not yet there. After our meals were given to us..no one checked on us. Also, aluminum foil was found in our tuna melt and the waitress just threw it away and didn’t tell the chef or remove the item from the bill. It took us 30 min for us to get a hold of someone to get our check and the young girl at the cashier was ignoring us and just standing there despite us trying to get her attention. Retraining is definitely needed - focusing on customer service. If you want beans and barely, take the drive to the east side instead.
