Visiting the city on a sunny Saturday morning and decided to get some lunch. Wonderful use of existing space and history. Our server was very polite, helpful and attentive. This place has a wonderful menu. My wife had the Short Rib Mushroom Melt with a Dill Pasta side. I had the Philadelphia Cheese Steak sandwich with fries. The sandwich was on their brick oven bread and absolutely sent the sandwich to another dimension with flavor. I would have preferred the onions and peppers cut into smaller pieces but only so they could be incorporated more into the flavor of each bite. It was still one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. The aioli was really good. Nice, smooth and rich. We will definitely be going back to try other things.

I opted for the Forge Steak Sandwich, a succulent, juicy treat served on a rustic bun that was clearly freshly baked. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, and every bite was an explosion of savory delight. The accompanying garlic smashed potatoes were an absolute revelation. They were beautifully seasoned and creamy, demonstrating the kitchen's capability to turn a simple side into something quite exceptional.

My companion decided on the Loaded Grilled Cheese, an elevated take on the classic comfort food. Stuffed with a decadent blend of melted cheeses and other delicious fillings, it was an indulgent treat that was thoroughly enjoyed. It was clear that attention to detail was paid to even the simplest of dishes, further showcasing the culinary prowess of Anvil Pub & Grill.

Went to the Anvil for a Birthday meal and I greatly enjoyed going there. The building itself is old but incredibly well kept homely in a pleasant way, cozy and very clean! The service was good and very patient especially considering I has to wait for my other company to arrive, no problems there! The food was excellent, from the shepherd's pie I got, to the duck wantons and even the mozzarella sticks, all was fantastic to me. I loved it at the Anvil, give it a go if you're in the area you won't be disappointed!

What a great experience having lunch here with friends, like being in a different world or place. Easily Germany or France. Food was great and the prices amazing for the atmosphere and the service.

Good menu of pub food. The service was friendly and competent. The outdoor patio was excellent. Highly recommended, inside and especially outside if the weather is suitable. Photo shows the view from the patio.

Amazing food!! Stopped in for a quick dinner, and everyone in our group loved their food. I tried the Smithy sandwich with beet and carrot potato salad. Both were great. Someone also tried their special whoch was a pork belly ramen. It was perfect!! We will definitely be back.

Beautiful old barn turned restaurant. Lunch for four, and probably the best restaurant experience and food we've had this year. Highly recommend the Smelting Smithy sandwich! The bread they make in house was fantastic, and combined with well-flavored ingredients made each of our dishes and sandwiches fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and the overall environment cozy and comfortable. They also had a good drink menu available.

hard working tight knit crew. small bar with 8 stools. large 2 story barn structure in old blacksmith structure. Great looking meals being served with a patio set along the river. prices are reasonable and quality is high.

Fantastic ambiance and delicious plates. This place is fantastic and I’m excited to try more of their menu. The only hiccup is that the gluten free lava cake wasn’t exactly all that tasty. But everything else was top notch!

The restaurant is housed in a beautiful brick building dating back to the 19th century. They also have plentiful outdoor seating with a lovely view overlooking a waterfall.

This is my go-to place in Cedarburg. They offer elegant dinner entrees as well as affordable lunch options. Food is always delicious. Lovely rustic ambiance. Nice riverside outdoor dining area during summer months.

Great environment and very friendly server! The food quality was high and very flavorful! Stone cooked bread was great and the Black and Tan onion rings were flavorful and interestingly had grill marks...

Amazing Establishment! I can't come to Cedarburg and not visit the Anvil! Great for just drinks, a quick bite, or full blown dinner! Service is A1! The environment is family friendly and mature! Very vintage rustic vibe! The Burgers here are super fire! Everything on the menu is actually super 🔥! Great place! If you are visiting this area definitely stop by!

Food was delicious. The plates however were too small and kept spinning around when we tried to cut our food, fries falling off the plate. Also silverware extremely cheap and not consistent with the quality of the restaurant.

Great place! We celebrated our anniversary here and enjoyed the atmosphere and food.

My friends and I have an annual Christmas in Cedarburg lunch followed by shopping. The Anvil Pub is our usual first stop. The atmosphere is perfect and memories of the old village blacksmith shop come flooding back. This time I ordered a typical Reuben sandwich and a fantastic Christmassy cocktail with cranberry and rosemary. The sandwich was okay. I’ve had much better. They could definitely add more meat and sauerkraut. All in all the Anvil is a great choice, because I have had other dishes that were fantastic other times.

Random day trip found us in Cedarburg, picked this place out of convenience - what a great find! The food was fantastic and the staff accommodating and friendly - thank you for a great experience - we are spreading the news among our network of friends.

I love the Anvil! Whether you are a local or a visitor to Cedarburg, you will always be welcome. The food is fantastic and John, the head chef, is 100% invested in preparing the best dishes to the customer. Kudos to the entire staff ~ we will always make this a stop when we are in town!

One of our favorite spots! Cocktails are always fantastic, and though they haven't changed the menu in years, I always find something delicious. You can't beat the atmosphere, although it's usually busy and can get loud. Our server was not in a good mood, but that's not usually the case.
