Towering Woods Nature Area

The trail is quite short and somewhat overgrown. The park does have potential if the city chooses to get more involved.

Very short trail

WTH? I've wanted to check this out for about a year. GPS kept directing me behind the senior apts. Sure, I can SEE the woods from there but there's no way in. I didn't see any kind of entrance anywhere. I even went to a residential area to the south. Nothing.

It occured to me that I didn't see any walking/hiking paths in the woods, no evidence of anyone having been there. I assumed it was a destination, that Towering Woods Nature Area meant there was something to do there - something other than stand on the sidewalk on Howard or in the senior housing parking lot and look at trees.

Apparently this "Nature Area" is for birds and chipmunks, not people.
