Sushi Pirate

Hands down, the best service I’ve gotten from any restaurant in regards to fixing their mistakes. (also, the sushi is phenomenal)

I placed a DoorDash order for a Godzilla roll, and then I called the restaurant to let them know that I am allergic to cucumbers. They said it would be taken care of. However upon arrival, we learned the chef made a mistake and forgot to 86 the cucumbers.

After one phone call, they remade the order and delivered it themselves. No hassle about it.

We recently moved to the area from East TN and this is the first sushi place we tried in the area. The sushi is really good; it’s not quite the best I have ever had but it was way better than simply mediocre, I would definitely recommend again to friends! If you’re craving sushi, this will definitely hit the spot.
We also got the pork gyoza which was great and the chicken fried rice as well which we both really loved.
The dining room was closed when we went so it was take out only, but the service we did had was great

Sushi was very good and the seaweed salad tasty. Was surprised to find this gem. Waiter was new and worked hard to answer questions and be attentive. Over all a great experience. I was smiling throughout the dinner as, what appeared to be the employees children, played on the staircase. Reminds me of a real family run restaurant overseas. Bonus! Another dinning experience very soon.

Feeling obligated to write a review due to all the negative ones I read that almost scared me away. Nothing positive about the atmosphere since all the tables were cluttered with art supplies for a crafts fair. Only doing togo's currently. Feel like expectations need to be managed in Wisconsin. The sushi was great considering we are in a land locked state with only one other sushi restaurant aside from the local gas stations. I had the lunch special with 3 rolls and a salad for $12. Can't beat it.

Ordered takeout, the sushi was super good and it’s not costly. There are plenty of vegetarian options. We got a few rolls and some tempura vegetables

Always love Sushi Pirate. They are still closed for dinning in which saddens me a little but the sushi is amazing!

We stopped in on a Sunday night during a stay across the street because a) we love sushi and b) lots of places in the area are closed Sunday evening it seems. I'd characterize the atmosphere as quaint. Maybe a little dated but charming and clean. Everyone was really friendly, service was fast and friendly, and they had some interesting "fancy" rolls we had never seen before. The traditional sushi was delicious and fresh. We had a pleasant visit and support all the other 4+ star reviews for this place.

Sushi Pirate has excellent service, excellent food and also a wide variety of food. I was never a sushi person but my girlfriend has me try the Flying Dutchman roll, since it was cooked. Boy did I love that. I've had sushi about once or twice a month, and this is the only place in town I'll eat it from. The fried rice is also super good, and I liked the soft shell crab. The inside is very nice and very clean, all the tables are washed properly and they don't leave food specs on the floor. I highly recommend Sushi Pirate to anyone who is looking to try/enjoys sushi.

Always fresh and delivered on time. One of the best Japanese restaurant in all of Wisconsin. You can’t go wrong. Every time we come into town we always order from Sushi Pirate and never have been let down.

Wonderful place to get sushi. I have never had a bad experience between the food, setting and staff. The sushi itself is fresh and well prepared with quality ingredients. Great food for a variety of occasions, and very helpful and friendly staff.

I have never had a bad meal here. Most sushi resturants are stupid overpriced and the portions suck. NOT the case with this place. You get generous portions of hand crafted quality sushi that is delicious and beautiful in appearance. All in a clean comfortable enviroment at an affordable price. My favorite sushi resturant in the US. I havent been to a better one than this place.

The service is kind of strange, but it's totally worth it in the end. Their sushi rolls are very tasty. I would recommend the Godzilla roll or Blackbeard roll. They also have their own delivery service which is really nice.

Always my go-to and favorite place to get sushi when I'm back in the area (La Crosse, Wisconsin is my hometown). The owner Simon is very friendly and always has hospitality. He's been a family friend for years and having seen the in's and out's of his establishment I can say that he runs it very well. Fish is always fresh and gets delivered 3-4 times a week.

Our dinner was fantastic! The menu is huge with a lot more than sushi, staff wax excellent and gracious. We'll definitely go back!!

Not only is the sushi at this place fantastic, but they are excellent in the customer service department as well! Very family oriented and willing to go above and beyond to ensure their customers are taken care of. 10/10 thank you!

Love the place, the food is always amazing and freshly cooked when you order. They also have really nice art of the pirates from Pirates of the Caribbean. It's a nice place to eat with family.

Despite what Jessica says, sushi tastes as good as it always has! They moved into a smaller location next door to where they were. Just glad they made it through lockdowns!

Consistently good food; every experience there has been positive; wait staff is very nice. More options than I can usually find for sushi in the midwest too!

I love their sushi and their sashimi. Since self isolating in March 2020 they have graciously delivered. Everything is prepared and delivered immediately. Extremely fresh.
