Bon Ton Bakery

Let me start by saying I'm an addict, a bakery addict! I've been searching for a great bakery and I've finally succeeded. The turkey and rice soup was most excellent too. Bit of a drive but well worth it. I will be back soon. Lastly, the staff is very friendly and kind.

A long and storied history, and, while the name Bon Ton was not used until 1917, the building in which it is housed, has been a bakery since, at least, 1893. Overtime, many families have run this historic location. Done well in great various baking traditions I remember even coming here as a kid in the early 70's. For variety, get here early in the day.... most of their original donut recipes have easily been swooped up by 8-9am, especially thru the weekend. Various days call for making special breads or seasonal recipes so even call ahead to find out the latest. Couple of window side tables can early AM be occupied with coffee \donut crowd. A gem with great history for the Jefferson community.

Had cakes made for our sons Celebration of Life, one german chocolate and one decorated. The decorated cake was the talk of the day. It was beautiful. Both cakes received rave reviews on taste. Several people asked where they were made. I told them of course, Bon Ton.

Good local bakery in Jefferson Wisconsin. Steady stream of people, so definitely popular with their customers. We just got a loaf of freshly baked white bread and a sticky bun. Slice of bread was great with a light coating of butter! The sticky bun had a nice yeast flavor, but could have been sticker. It did have a nice sticky nut topping. We noticed daily deli specials and $4 bag of day old pastries that still looked great!

This is a true bakery with exceptional service! Get there early for the best selection before they run out of things. If you're used to supermarket bakery items, you NEED to try Bon Ton. You'll never go back to a grocery store bakery again!

Bon ton has been baking for around 100 years. May they continue for another century. Staff couldn’t be more friendly or helpful. The bakers as well. Holiday cut out cookies are a sleeper. Also right now their cake decorator is really good with carefully neat and creative work. So go already!!

Whenever I go here I always have a good experience the selection changes everyday and practically everything is great.

This is my favorite bakery. We stopped by on a road trip one summer and everyone in the car was impressed by the quality of the deliiteful offerings to the hometown kindness of everyone on staff. A lot of love and perfection go into their food. My 89 year old mother said it reminded her of her childhood in Fountain City WI and Winona MN. We all took loads of treat home. Well, now it's time for a road trip out that way again!. Shelly from Delafield.

This was the first time I stopped at the
Bon Ton Bakery. After looking over the huge selection, I settled for a Cinnamon Raisin Roll. I asked the lady helping me if she could warm it up for me. She said absolutely! I sat down to eat it and OH MY GOD, It was AMAZING! Melted in my mouth. It was Fresh and had pleanty of cinnamon, raisins and glazing! If I wasn't in a hurry, I would of had 2 more. I will definately be back when I'm in town.

When your donut when your cookies at Johnson's Creek scarred shop and it was very from Josh at Johnson's Creek scar job it was very delicious

Bonton has the best donuts! I can never just buy one - which is fine, because they aren't overpriced. I used to work at Kwik Trip and it made me so sad to see folks buying baked goods there (which are not only gross, but made in a factory in Lacrosse and freezed) when you can go just across town and support this small business that's been there for literally over a hundred years and has cute old ladies making stuff and the food is actually delicious.

Best bakery in the area. Wonderful food. Great service. Get it made your way. Not over priced. What else is there.

A family run bakery that has been around for more than 100 years. When I walk in, it smells like my grandma's kitchen and there is even more sweet treats to choose from! Enjoying one of the homemade lunches is the culinary highlight of my week.

My wife and I just moved into the area. My son and I own a bathroom remodeling company and pass by every day. We discovered Bon Ton Bakery and WOW are we crazy about the epic doughnuts!!!!! And Ann who takes care of us is the best!!!! You truly feel like family!!!!

Best bakery, I drive up here from Milwaukee, my grandparents lived in Jefferson. They have wonderful bread and sweet treats

I recently used Bon Ton Bakery as my caterer AND cake bakers for my wedding!!! Talk about hitting two birds with one stone! Extremely affordable...compare the prices to a high end caterer with small portions!
Cindy was the nicest person to work with. Being such a humble person and shop, almost anything was available and possible.
Due to COVID, Cindy and the staff were extremely accommodating to change our meal plan from hot buffet to delicious sandwiches, sides, salads, dressings and cupcakes ALL individually boxed up. Our head table cake turned out beautiful, too.
Our guests all said the chicken salad sandwich on a large croissant was really good along with the potato salad and regular salad!
The cupcakes were pretty and were a wonderful treat. THANK YOU BON TON!! ❤

Always fresh and delicious. I grab the sugar cookies as a treat for my co-workers every now and then, and they go over wonderfully. Great place for locally sourced breads as well!

OMG. I discovered this amazing gem passing through Jefferson recently.

This bakery is 100 years old and I'm pretty sure the woman who served me was as well. She is a part of the original family that started the business literally 100 years ago. She was the sweetest, most adorable old lady and I want to adopt her as my grandma and have her give me all the hugs and cookies. I should have asked to see pictures of her grandchildren, I know she had them ready!

When I tell you everything I tried tasted like the woman you wish was your grandma lovingly made it from scratch. I stopped in just to look around, and not buy anything, but everything looked too amazing, and I wasnt disappointed. My only regret is that I did not try more things!

In addition to baked goods they also had the best (non-fried) cheese curds I've ever tried. I bought a bag even though I had cheese curds at home already.

Only downside was that by 4pm it was very picked over and there were very few things left.

I am thinking of driving back to Jefferson (from Madison) just to try more things. Who wants to go?
