La Poblanita

Atmosphere, food, music, even the Coca-cola is authentic at La Poblanita. It is a hidden treasure that has been here for decades & I hope, for years to come. Speaking of Authentic, it's not just the Coca-cola that is 'hecho in Mexico'. There's wonderful art and artifacts decorating the walls & and bar, including a couple of 'maquahuitl': a wooden club with several embedded obsidian blades. The name is derived from the Nahuatl language and means "hand-wood" used by Aztec/Mayan warriors for hunting & and self-defense.
La Poblanita has an excellent menu, but I had a craving for tacos: Carne asada & el pastor both were Fuego, I'll be back tambien. La poblanita Es el verdad!
-back again this time I'm getting extra tacos 2 carne asada 2 el pastor, they're so excellent, next time we'll get something different than tacos but I've been thinking of em since my last visit. There's just no fighting this craving.

Very very delicious! Customer service was great and the food came out quickly. The asada poblano burrito is so so good. The guacamole is a must!

Excellent food 1st time visiting. Loved the homemade hot salsa and chips, buying some salsa to take home. Price were reasonably, our meal were roughly $12 a piece for dinner entree.

Great food and great times as always! My favorite drink is the jalapeno pineapple margarita with tajin on the rim. I always get the al pastor and carnitas.

I got their chicken enchiladas - the one that’s two green and two red. The chicken isn’t seasoned very well and for me the sauce was a little bit too hot, but I try to minimize the heat with some sour cream with the avocado dipped in some beans and finished off with rice. Then I can usually take the heat. Lol. This meal cost me $14. I think I paid extra for extra avocado slices. In terms of the atmosphere is certainly very lively. I would’ve love to stay and have a drink, but I was picking up my mail to go. this is a very small quaint neighborhood style Mexican restaurant. Music playing TV on libations flowing, plenty of beer and tacos abound! Very lively place for probably 20 people max. I recommend (mostly for takeout)!

This is authentic and amazing food. The staff are all so sweet. My partner fell in love with the sauce for the fish tacos (the best I’ve had, possibly) and the owner came out and gave them a big cup of it to take home. This is a five star dive location and I’m here for it.

Don’t come for the aesthetic. Come for the food and the love the staff has for their craft.

The food is great and authentic Mexican fare. Service is friendly. The vibe is homie.

We had fish tacos, shrimp tostada and cerviche tostada with guacamole. Everything was very good. The guacamole was more saucy than I am used to, but the distinct flavors of the cilantro, lime and garlic all were available and served as a dressing for the vegetables in the dish. The tacos and tostadas were excellent and even the rice was interesting and flavorful.

It’s unreal how delicious the food is, so authentic. This is truly one of those Wilmington secrets, of which there are so many. - It is an authentic clientele but believe me the food is truly spectacular. 10/10 on food.

Best street tacos I've ever had, and I am constantly craving their chicken enchiladas! Don't let the appearance dissuade you! Also super friendly staff. Being within walking distance is both a gift and a curse.

Small spot I would have never found without y’all’s help. The fajitas we great. Rice and beans were perfect. Margarita was huge but needed a little more flavor. Nice place I will likely visit again.

Awesome authentic Mexican food! Homely atmosphere and the best Margarita in town. Super nice staff and in walking distance from my place! Had 3 drinks and 2 meals for $45.

I come here every Sunday or Monday with my fiancé. It’s “Our Spot.” Best Frozen Margaritas of anyone in town. True authentic Mexican food and great service! I highly highly highly recommend.

These guys are awesome! Were open early and totally hooked us up with some of the best Mexican food ever! Waitress was very very nice! :) Definitley go here! It's worth it!

Parking is a pain. 8 spots for 3 businesses. But, food was awesome. Large portions. Prices moderate. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Definitely will add to our eateries rotation! Ok..gotta go lay down. I'm stuffed. Food Coma! Oh the pain. 😁

Authentic Mexican food, cozy location with great ambience. Limited parking, but the service was great and the menu was extensive. First time there, but will be back again soon!
