Hop Sing

Authentic. Family run. Large portions. Been looking for a place like this. The portions are large and the meat isn’t low quality like most Chinese places. The chicken wings are amazing.

And the egg rolls are huge. We also had general tso’s tofu and the hand made dumplings. Respect to all the cooks and people running the business.

They are definitely trying and it shows! We fed 7 of us for $88 and have TONS of leftovers. The combo meals are a great deal!

You only pickup here. Not an eat in place.

I ordered takeout from Hop Sing today and it was fantastic. I am American Chinese and this reminds me of the food I grew up eating.

Hop Sing is the most authentic Chinese food that I’ve had in Vermont. I ordered hot and sour soup, Singapore noodles, and chicken and string beans. Everything was very flavorful and tasted exactly as it’s supposed to. Wait time was also convenient, on a Saturday night it was a 20 minute wait and it was ready when I came exactly 20 minutes after calling. I will be back soon!

Been eating here for at least the past 20+ years (essentially since they first opened) The owners have changed over the years but it is still one of the best places to get Chinese food in Chittenden County. The serving sizes are gigantic, always have leftovers the next day and the food tastes great. We always go for the Sweet and Sour Chicken, at least 3 servings of Pork Fried Rice (because it's so good!), Lo Mein, and Sesame Chicken. For those who have given bad reviews I would suggest trying again, I know since Covid hit they have been understaffed and busier than ever so it's possible you just caught things on a bad night. But for the average over the last 20 years, Hop Sing is definitely a fantastic place!

The food here is excellent, family run business and they are very friendly and the service is great. Highly recommend coming here to eat !

I've been going to Hop Sing for what must be 10+years, after a coworker was reheating some leftovers that looked and smelled amazing. I was not disappointed and haven't been since. They make most of their food in house and it shows. There are few things on the menu that I prefer elsewhere. Their fried rice isn't too heavy, their chicken is almost always tender, their dumplings and crab rangoon are savory, and on and on. We've tried almost everything on the menu and every time we try another place we end up back here, even though we drive by at least a few other places on our way since moving out of the neighborhood shortly after our first trip there. There is one person who can be a bit rushed (though not rude) on the phone, but with online ordering for some time now, we often go that route.

Yummy food. A tad more expensive than other similar places, but not ridiculously so. They're always busy.

Always a good experience here. I love the food but always over buy because I want a little of everything. It fairly priced and the portions are good sized. It's also a quick way to have dinner. My large order is usually ready in twenty minutes or so. I never have a complaint with Hop Sing.

Flatbed Truck Driver - (Yes, I travel often and eat out often) I was skeptical at first considering the restaurant had a 3.9 Star Rating w/ negative reviews, but I was too starved to pass up the opportunity to eat. I purchased my meal from the Specialty Section and ordered Chicken Wings and Boneless Spareribs w/ Pork Fried Rice ($7.76 Total after Taxes). I gotta say, the food was fresh, tasty and well made. I would definitely buy again. I'll try their General TSO Chicken the next time I visit. Enjoy, if you decide to purchase, I highly recommend!

Keep this place in business! Their prices are so cheap, food so delicious and portions extravagant. If they go, one of the best Chinese places in Vermont goes with them.
For 12 bucks you get great taste that lasts for multiple meals. Just give them a 20 instead though. Nice staff too!

I used to live close by Hop Sing and would eat here a lot. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the service is always prompt and kind. For your typical Chinese-American food they do it right here, and I've never had anything I didn't like. Prices are on par with what you would expect. 8 Dollars for a combo meal and it's enough to feed you twice. I wouldn't certainly recommend Hop Sing!

I come here twice or 3 times a week to eat with my Wife and our Son, the owner is a amazing guy!! He is always working so hard.. they have the best food. I highly recommend Hop Sing to everyone! My favorite Chinese spot. Thank you Hop Sing Family for all your hard work and dedication to making great food for everyone.. we are much appreciated for all your hard work. I've been driving by this place every day for almost 7 years. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. I'm glad I stopped today for lunch. Excellent hot and sour soup. Best I have had in a very long time. The egg roll and fried rice couldn't have been better. The chicken in the garlic sauce was flat and tender. The lunch serving was enough for two. That was just their lunch. Looking forward to trying one of their dinner specialties very soon.

Awesome place!!! We ate under the tree outside. Staff brought us cardboard to sit on and gave us a bottle of water. Super friendly people. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. 10/10 would come back again and again.

My favorite local place by far! Generous servings, always good, really great prices and I've been eating here for 10yrs and never had my order messed up once!

Place was great. Clean seating clean kitchen. Had combo plate general tsos with pork fried rice and boneless spare ribs. It was amazing. My friend had the sesame chicken, crab ragoons and beef teriyaki sticks. They said was also Great. The people were really nice as well.

Personally I’ve had a lot of different Chinese meals from different restaurants. Hop Sing is the best Chinese Restaurant around my area. When I go and pick my food up they make me feel so good and give me first class service. I recommend to eat there 500% satisfaction guaranteed.

Always like coming here except the last time our portions were much smaller than usual. But we still love coming here as the people seem so nice and genuine and the boneless spare ribs are absolutely incredible 🙌 👌 😍

Hands down best Chinese in the area! I moved here 3 years ago from MA and it’s been hard to adjust not having multiple “good” options for Chinese food. Have tried many places and I would say it’s a good option for take out. There is only a few chairs and would never eat there but Prices are reasonable and the food is solid. Def give it a try!!

They have the absolute best Chinese food in the area! However, there are occasionally order mistakes and longer than expected wait times, which I would say is basically "on par" with competitors (being no worse / no better). So while service is standard / average, it's still my go-to place for good Chinese food.
