Union Jacks

First time eating here. Friendly staff/owner with great atmosphere and good food. Tried the “6 Philly Style Hot Roast Beef, it was really good! I heard they have then best fish & chips which I have to try next time I come back. They prefer cash for payment. You can also call ahead your order to save you time.

If you're in the mood for a satisfying sandwich in Burlington, Vermont, you might want to check out the Union Jacks During my recent visit, I tried the Italian deli salami sandwich and the beef and onion rings and Swiss cheese sandwich.
First of all, the sandwiches were generously sized and very filling. The Italian deli salami sandwich was packed with high-quality, thinly sliced salami, along with fresh lettuce, tomato, and a zesty mayo-based sauce. The bread was fresh and had a satisfying texture, with just the right amount of chewiness.

The beef and onion rings and Swiss cheese sandwich was also quite good, although not as outstanding as the Italian deli salami sandwich. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the onion rings added a nice crunch. However, the Swiss cheese was somewhat lacking in flavor and didn't stand out as much as I would have liked.

Unfortunately, the French fries were not to my taste. They were a bit too greasy and lacked the crispy exterior I was hoping for. However, this could just be a matter of personal preference, as some people might enjoy them that way.

Overall, I would recommend Union Jacks for its delicious sandwiches, especially the Italian deli salami sandwich. However, I might skip the French fries next time and try one of their other sides instead.

My Fiancee and I had lunch here today. We got there at about 11:30 at Union Jacks this place gets to be very busy considering that we were fourth in line. But when we were about to placed our order I saw the line behind us grow to 6-7 people in line. From the counter to the entrance door. So my advice to you all to either get there when they open or call and order ahead.
My fiancee had the Fish and Chips along with a large side order of Fried Pickles. I had a Pastrami and Swiss Panini style on jalapeno bread. My side order was a large order of onion rings. We ate our food there and it was brought out to us at our table and you could see the steam coming off our food.
I really enjoyed seeing Union Jacks staff knowing their "regulars" of what they want to eat or just seeing on how their well being.
Union Jacks has been in the same place for the last 26 years and still going strong!

Fish and chips were bomb!!! The fish is crispy til the end and the fries were perfectly cut. I really enjoyed my meal and it's worth every penny. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Burlington.

Some of the best fish and chips can be found here. The batter was spot on and the fish was superb. There was a line out the door at lunch hour but the folks behind the counter never sacrificed the integrity of friendly and courteous customer service. We dined in and couldn't be happier with our experience.

First time there the fish and chips were really delicious good quality haddock the oil was fresh french fries were wonderful staff was great bathrooms were clean definitely will go back

Terrific little sandwich shop. Enjoyed an excellent panini and "chips". Friendly counter staff, bright surroundings contribute to the nice atmosphere.

Feels and tastes like being in a UK or Ireland chip shop. The fish is incredible and the chips are authentic..I couldn't recommend it more.

This is the BEST sandwich spot in Burlington. The care they put into their sandwich making is on another level. They have amazing service and the quality of all their food is just unreal. Love this place!!!

Best fish and chips I've ever had! So fresh and the batter is light and crispy! Italian sub and meatball sub is awesome as well! Super friendly staff and nice sit down area to enjoy.

2019-03-03 Update: After several more recent visits, I just need to expand on my original review... The food here is awesome. I find myself craving it every day, and frustrated that they aren't located closer to my home or office.

From the fish and chips - the authenticity of which I cannot verify, but the deliciousness of which I can very much confirm - to the unique paninis, I love everything I've ever had here. I don't know if I have a favorite, but Ron's Reuben and the Beef and Onion Melt are both very unique and satisfying options that never seem to get old.

Anticipation is always on the menu, too, at Union Jack's. While I typically like to call ahead for takeout, I spare the extra few minutes at UJ's for the face-to-face ordering, seeing the meat sliced to order and chatting with the most friendly staff around while my meal is assembled.

Dont worry about the new Jersey Mikes, just come here instead. Best sandwiches around in my very humble opinion.

Tasty fish and chips. Be warned you will want to try their sandwich options as well. Come hungry leave satisfied. A bloody good representation too.(in my best British impersonation)

Super nice people, they have Pepsi products which is magical. Fish and Chips is nice and a filling size , loads of other great menue options. All pretty magical in my book.

First time going and i loved the atmosphere, very nice people and awesome food. I would definitely suggest this place.

I visited yesterday for the first time and ate the best Haddock Filet ever!!!! I was very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the owners and their daughter. The restaurant was so clean that I changed my mind and decided to eat there rather than takeout. Then, I heard about double punch Wednesdays for subs and decided to order a couple to go! I will be a repeat customer for sure!
