La Fia Bistro

I would give La Fia Bistro more than 5 stars if possible. 5 of us drove from different directions about an hour to enjoy this outstanding Mother's Day brunch. We had a beautiful table next to a bay window. Lauren, our server was the best! But the food stole the show. Delicious cocktails. Best house made scones ever! Wonderful 1st course, especially the crispy potatoes with crème fraiche, chives, and caviar; and the avocado toast. For the 2nd course, the short ribs were the best I've ever tasted. And the spring vegetables with eggs was amazing. The veggies could not have tasted any fresher or more delicious!
We are looking forward to our next fabulous meal at LA Fia!!

We went for the prix fixe Valentine's dinner and the food was phenomenal. We tried some things we hadn't had before, like smoked scallops and gnudi, and it was all just exceptional. My husband's duck was melt in the mouth perfection, best we have ever had. They also had a berry pavlova for dessert which just thrilled us, because it's such a good dessert but it's not common here in the US. This blended the sweet and tart perfectly so it wasn't an overwhelming sugar bomb. Literally our only complaint was the portions. This might've just been because it was a special prix fixe menu, but my fish and my husband's duck breast was maybe 2-3 ounces each; that's an app in my opinion. It felt more like tapas than a main dish. But we'll be back to try more of their regular menu because the quality really was outstanding.

One of the best restaurants in Wilmington. The grilled octopus is absolutely amazing. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. Great drinks, and amazing ambiance.

We ordered 4 appetizers, thought to be fulled, but it was tasty I had to try to the duck breast!Id been to Manhattan worlds Top star restaurants, this is at that level. I really like it! Thank you Chef!
Very tender,warm, crispy on skin,and not gamey at all it was perfect for me.and the cut is very nice too! Lastly The price is very friendly!I can afford to come back!

I came here with my party of 5 on a Saturday night, and this was the first visit for all of my guests and myself. We had the latest reservation time of 9:15pm and were also running a few minutes late. To my surprise, we were not rushed at all for our order. The waitress Natasha was very kind, efficient, and attentive. For appetizers we ordered the gem salad, master board, octopus, and roasted maitake mushrooms. Another waitress or food runner took the time to break down all the cheeses, meats, and other items on the master board when delivered which I really appreciated. For entrees we got the wagyu steak, bucatini pasta, and saffron spaghetti. The appetizers and entrees were all delicious. I get steak every time I go out and am mostly disappointed. This steak was cooked perfectly- so tender, and the flavor amazing. Very Unique dishes and ingredients that are all very fresh and tasty. The apple icecream desert was delicious. Again the service was awesome and I really appreciate how patient they were with us being the last table and they’re pretty late. I would go back when I’m back in the area.

This place deserves 5 stars! Have been here a few times for the prix fixe tasting menu and everything has been on point every time. The food and drinks were all high quality, no complaints. Cute ambiance, although it can be difficult to find parking so I would recommend to get there early if you have a reservation. I love the decor as well, and murals painted by a local artist. Service was top notch as well. Waitress was intuitive, prompt, helpful, and checking in regularly.

Perfect Date Night /Celebration Spot!

The Wednesday Night Prix Fix ($40pp) was phenomenal. From the generous portions and attentive service to the strong drinks and cozy atmosphere - we couldn't reccomend La Fia more highly.

The house music selection was unexpected, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Menu Highlights:
- Starters: Duck Confit
- Drinks: The Boardroom and Red Samuri
- Mains: Braised Pork Shank
- Desserts: Yuzu Semifreddo

This place was excellent! The food was just exceptional. The drinks were very good and strong. I had the steak and strawberry salad. The meat was cooked perfectly and the flavor profiles just blended nicely. My wife had the ravioli and again it was excellent. We shared the crispy duck plate and that might have been my favorite that night. It was so crispy and had excellent flavor profiles. The plating was also very fancy and really enhanced the look of each dish. I would 100% go there again. It was a nice location in Wilmington only annoyance was parel parking, but that is a me problem!

Like any place just a step under fine dining, the prices were a bit high while the portions were very small. But the food was very tasty, and they had a lot of interesting dishes.
The volume and acoustics made it hard to have a conversation - which made it suboptimal for our anniversary (which is why we were there). But it's still a great little spot.

Superb food, excellent service, and an intimate atmosphere! Went to La Fia for dinner, and enjoyed their diverse wine list while enjoying a few appetizers. I enjoyed the Wagyu Beef paired with a really nice Rioja. Finished off the meal with a glass from their Amaro list- Cardamaro. Recommend for a date night or special occasion.

GET THE DUCK CONFIT!!! This place was sinfully good. Absolutely great ambience, incredible staff, and the food and drinks were amazing!!! Try the naked and famous mezcal drink - incredible blend of flavors. It’s a spirit forward drink but we’ll worth the try. And, as this review is titled, you have to try the duck leg confit - the best duck dish I have ever had. Had it with halibut and cheesecake and the meal was satisfying, not too pricey (Wednesday night prix fixe menu - $40), and left nothing to be desired. Parking may be difficult - I walked from the hotel. This was seriously incredible and a must try if in the Wilmington area!!!

What an amazing restaurant! Wonderful food. Great flavor and pairings. Small intimate setting that you need to call if you have a party of more than six people. A great place to enjoy drinks or a wonderful meal. The servers were knowledgeable and fast to bring the meal. Very nice restroom. I would go back in a second if I was in the area.

Traveling through and found this awesome place. Service, drinks and food were amazing. Our small plates were delicious and our entrees were incredible. My lamb shank was off the charts good. Wish we were staying longer to visit them again. It’s a must for fine dining.

Went there last night for Valentine's Day. It was our first time, and I must say we were impressed. We are big foodies who have had really great food in Philly and DC, but never expected to taste what we tasted last night in Wilmington. The flavors were insane!!!! The pasta with the truffle puree took me back to the best pasta I ever had in Tuscany. I mean seriously, this place blew our minds. Loved the atmosphere as well. Will definitely be back on date nights or when trying to impress visitors from out of state!

The food was phenomenal here. Both my date and I loved every plate that came out. Service was great as well. I had the duck and it was off the charts. Price for the both of us came out to be $150, which is pretty high imo, but other than that it was an excellent experience. I can’t complain. I will be back here again Forsure.

We always enjoy eating here. Food is always great along with the service. The duck confit is amazing, don't forget to order it. They usually have something interesting on the menu, for me this time it was morel mushrooms! Their version of tuna poke bowl was delicious and if you like cheesecake, the strawberry rhubarb cheesecake was one of the best I have had in a while! The pictures are, chocolate ganache, strawberry cheesecake, Rockfish, hanger steak, Duck confit, and poké.

Food is amazing and not pretentious. Never had a bad meal there (and I have been there a lot). Drinks are really good especially when Amy is making them. Best old fashioned I’ve ever had.

We have been to La Fia many times with several people each visit and everyone in our group always gets a delicious meal. The chef creates really wonderful flavor combinations, dishes are beautifully plated, and perfectly cooked. The service is excellent. This restaurant is a gem!

A culinary treat! The cuisine, wine and service is so elegant, 5 star worthy. And the quaint atmosphere adds to the upscale experience.
