Judge Morris Estate - White Clay Creek State Park

Beautiful, hidden gem in Newark. For years, I've passed and admired the estate and had no idea how to enter or that it was part of White Clay Creek. We recently had a photoshoot here, and it's such a lovely area that is pretty private for a “public” park. We did have an issue with parking where a State Trooper wrote us a warning citation. When you pay to park, make sure you put your voucher on your dash (not back in your wallet). Thankfully, the State Trooper was kind, and it was just a warning.

Lovely estate, several acres, 1930s style home that is used for events, nice pond with fishing. Stone foundation of two outbuildings remain. Great walk in the woods or around the house.

The pollinator garden at the estate grounds is beautiful, so many butterflies! The hiking trails are peaceful and easy to access. There is oarking and a pit toilet that's clean. I enjoy this access point to White Clay Creek State Park.

This park has nice wooded trails for walking or riding dirt bikes. There is also a bathroom which is nice. You do need a park pass during most of the year to park here or there is a self pay option for one day.

One of my favorite places to park for trail runs through White Clay. It provides easy access to the Middle Run Valley Area, and has it's own shaded 3.1 mile loop.

Beautiful facility. Rolling meadows, ancient oaks, Lilly-covered pond and helpful staff make a great venue for a wedding. The estate is part of White Clay Creek, an expansive wilderness preserve that spans two states.

Great place & be sure to bring the Mountain bikes. Trail entry RIGHT There & on both sides of the Road.

Love love love the white clay park system. This particular park has a great set of 3 well marked loops that are easy to follow depending on how much time you have.

A good section of trails makes this a great place to run or hike or bike but the Estate itself is worth checking out. It's also a fantastic place to get married.

Great place for a run. You can do the smaller 2 mile loop or the longer 3mile one. This place is pure magic in every season

Great park. I went for a trail here while I was working in town. It was the only park that had all dirt trails.

Beautiful grounds and lovely trail to hike or jog. Fishing pond could use some maintenance.

Great place. Good parking with trails for biking & running. Buildings are a good backdrop for photographs.

Nice quiet place to walk around and enjoy nature. Port-A Potties on site. A nice pond to catch and release fish.

Good option for a longer loop hike in the area, popular with people on bikes so watch out for them while walking!

Good trails and an interesting landscape. I really wanted to have some corn, but I restrained myself.

They had a murder mystery event here and it was a lot of fun. The house is pretty cool too.
