Newark Free Library

This library will always have a special place in my heart because I worked there over 20 years ago, and it's also where I met my husband. I still visit other branches, but Newark has a great collection and is closer to my home. I find interesting things to check out, I admire the variety of programming and clubs held at this branch, and the staff are friendly.

My toddler loves the kids corner! And there's plenty of activities to do, and best part... They're free!

The movie section is very organized and easy to find your selection. Nicely run quite place.

Today I was able to trace my family ancestry using the computers at the library.
They have a lot of resources for everyone and you can take out over 90 pieces of library material if you have a library card.

The branch is new to me, but has it's own unique attributes. I landed in the sci-fi/fantasy section and found a treasure trove of novels to read. For those whose eyesight needs a little help, they have a nice collection of large print books. They also have a large biography section, a Chinese language section, a children's section and a new books section. I will update as I see more!

Lovely workers who are always ready to help. Definitely should get a library card if you live in DE, it's free to residents, and there is a lot of neat stuff here! Books, audiobooks, music, DVDs, games, puzzles, and more!

Libraries are sacred places and sources of wisdom, ideas, relaxation, peace, comfort, information, potential friends, helpful librarians, curious children and interesting people. Newark Free Library is one of these magical places.

I grew up in Anne Arundel County, MD and thought they had a great library system until I got my Delaware Library Card. Newark Free Library has new books, music, movies, etc, and they get it to you from anywhere in the state! And fast!

Love our home library. Thank you for providing so many opportunities and resources. Staff there are awesome!

Wonderful place to come and get some laptop work done. I’m from the west coast (Nevada), but visit the east coast every year or two. When I do, I love coming here to unwind and go through my photographs (I’m a photographer). I’ve worked on some important projects while here, so this library has become a warm and familiar place for me. A nice feeling to have when I’m 2,165 miles from home.

My family have been patrons of this library for years. The kids section is great. Always fun activities and events for the family. We come once a week for books and movies. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

I love all of Delaware's libraries, and the Newark library is no exception.
It contains an enormous number of books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines.
They have a 3D printer available, and they can even loan out tools and games now.
The staff is helpful.

The lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly.

Such lovely and kind staff. Signed my boys & myself up for summer reading program. Even got an activity pack for virtual story time on Tuesday

The library is currently only doing curb side pick up but they also have curb side printing and WiFi. It is very easy to place holds online and then schedule your pick up once the library contacts you that the holds are ready. There is also a large selection of ebooks. The staff is extremely helpful. Just call if you have questions or technical difficulty.

Big and nice public library with free Wi Fi. The kids section is very cool and my daughter loves it. They also have some PCs for kids to play video games. I visit this library almost every week and I recommend it.
