I have been going to Boxwood Liquors for over the past six years now. The employees are extremely helpful, friendly and hard working. When costumers come into the store with a positive personality other customers can see their demeanour and receive a vibe that the employees care about the customers well being and the reciprocation is on going. I have experienced customers come into the store with very negative attitudes too that no one at any other business should ever have to deal with but the employees at Boxwood Liquors do their very best to work with everyone no matter what the customer (s) are going through. I have witnessed customers who were extremely rude to the employees as if they were entitled that the employees should shop for their products that they wanted to buy sometimes not even knowing the name of the product and causing stress not only to myself as a customer but to other customers as well while causing a line of waiting time and then not being ready to pay for their product off of their cell phone while having a conversation on their cell phone by way of speaker for all customers to hear. Boxwood Liquors is a great place to buy your liquor needs due to great prices and products that may not be carried at other liquor stores. The prices are the best in the area with wonderful and exceptional customer service. As a customer when you shop at Boxwood Liquors as a polite customer with grace and dignity you can definitely expect the same respect in return if not more. I have never seen any employee be disrespectful, rude or racist in all of the six years I have shopped here. I give this store a 5 plus star rating.

Now that I'm free, I can speak my mind now.
I used to work right next door to these guys for years, and I've seen the abuse and nasty sense of entitlement that these poor people have to deal with on a day to day basis. Usually for doing little more than doing their jobs! They put up the sign about the phones because people tend to have them on blast and really, who wants to hear someone's business as loud as you can have it on?

Cutting people off.
There's that point in the day where you go in here once, only to realize that you could use more libation. These guys are trained, by the state no less, to cut people off when they've had too much. I've seen people get furious when this happens, but hey, it's the Law!

ID's
Even working next door. Folks seem to take issue when you card them. I used to get this a lot and so do they. At this point, they're either under age or they don't have a US I'd. My question was always how are they driving without an ID? We take :Passport, USA. We get a lot of Guatemalan IDs and others from points south. Get a valid ID and bring it with you when you go into this liquor store and you'll do just fine.

In conclusion.
Take your change elsewhere, this is not a bank.
Take your belligerence elsewhere. You will get tossed out of the store and or have the police called on you. These guys aren't punching bags.
Come in with a positive attitude and you'll get it back.

Now go out and get some Choia Umeshu plum Sake or a nice bourbon and chill. You've earned it. I also give this store 5 stars.

Good selection, great prices. I don't expect to be personally greeted everytime I walk into a store, especially if the clerks are busy dealing with other customers. If you need help with anything locked up in the cases staff are always friendly, and accommodating.

I have been going there for years and i dont get a hello on every visit, sometimes maybe the person behind the counter is busy or pre occupied, not necessarily a racist, just saying. I go there to buy liquor, not make small talk and they have a good selection, reasonable prices and convenient hours, and they are very close by. Enough said, i am happy to support this establishment.

Hometown liquor store. Don’t expect them to go above and beyond and you’ll get good prices and quick services. If you have some reason to expect special treatment, go here to be reminded that you do not. Liquor stores are about having stock and having good prices. They’ll point ya in the right direction but don’t expect Total Wine treatment.

I know nothing about liquor as I drink a toast at weddings and her a bottle of champagne for Christas - New Year. That is why I go here. The owner knows what to refer and knows where to get it if he does not. We were sent home from a wedding with a tiny bottle of white wine with just Verdi on it. It was good so I asked the owner if he could find it. He knew instantly what the real name was and the 2 stores that carried it. He knows so much I just go to him. It is worth paying a little extra for the education.

Great prices . Awesome selection. And they’re not racist . Unless the relationship is personal, They’re like that to everyone. Still 5 stars .

My local beer & liquor store here in South Wilmington/Newport area. Great selection etc. Never once had any issues coming here. Would be nice if the posted hours on here though :P
