They told me I had to pay an extra $200.00 for afterhours service for picking up my Mom. They said their hours were 8 to 5 They were called at 4:00 p.m. and it took them 2 and a half hours to get Mom. I told them I would not pay that, it was not my fault it took them 2 and half hours to come. Mom and Dad had bought the cremation service from them many years ago. They said they couldn't find the paperwork so I would have to pay again. Then when I told them I had the original copy they said Oh yes here it is we have it. Don't use them.

I came across a tiktok talking about one of your employees. Her name is morticia669 on there. She made her profile private, but if you search the name, you'll find people reacting to her videos. In the video, she was joking about going to lunch while the person thaws, talking about "souvenirs" from someone who has lice, and being very unprofessional while carrying a deceased person that you can see in the back of her vehicle. I would feel so angry if I saw my loved one in the back of a vehicle, and the person taking them to the funeral home was making light of the situation. I'm all for having fun at work, but to show such unprofessionalism like that while on the clock is disgusting. Based on some of the other reviews I've seen, I wouldn't even send my worst enemies there to be taken care of.

My husband and I went to meet my sister and help her make arrangements for her deceased daughter. The grounds are old cemetery but well maintained.
Upon driving up to the office we thought 'We must be in the wrong place?"
But we weren't...
It was an old run down 1970s trailer park trailer ,and I mean run down, they had two tomb stones greeting us at the door, and others on the side of the trailer parking lot , it looked like it was decorated up for Helloween...
I rang the bell and a woman answered in a intercom and a young lady showed up only about 10 minutes in her car ...my husband used the rest room( a grounds keeper opened the door) and after being inside my husband came back out to our truck and I asked my husband " Is it as bad inside?' He replied " This place is a dump!"
I went in after him to get a good look inside...I can't even begin to tell you the horror I saw with my own eyes.
My sister ( the mother of deceased daughter) showed up about 15 mins after our arrival and I thought we needed to see how this place operates...So
within 2 minutes of entering the smelly, mold infested ,
dirty carpeted, old peeling wall paper and water damaged woodpaneled interior, water damaged ceiling, worn faux leather torn and ripped couches and chairs, model( small scale) caskets lining the floors, urns placed in various places, and tomb stones hung on the walls disarray and what appeared to be a small ironing board covered with cloth as a display table for a book of various memorial cards.
The lady wasted no time in slipping the document under my sister's hand and told her where to sign...I immediately stopped the transaction and then told the young lady " Your place here is a disgrace, and a sinful shameful display that shows me how you would care for someone's deceased loved one. "
She proceeded to tell me she worked there for two years and people were happy with her work.
Then we called our other sister, she saw the pictures I sent in text. She was beside herself and said " This place is disgusting!" She also had a few choice words to say about what she saw just by seeing pictures, yes it was that bad.

We left the smelly, moldy, dirty trailer and I promised I would write this review:
THEY ARE A DISGUSTING DISPLAY OF UNPROFESSIONALISM AND SHOW AN OBVIOUS LACK OF CARE!
Do not do any business with them over the phone , you are unable to see and you don't know what we saw first hand. :(
There is so much more I could say, but I think you got the gist.
IT'S OPPRESSIVE AND DISGUSTING!

Very distasteful representation by one of your employees. But this business has been like this for years based on the consistent 1 star reviews.
Apparently doesn’t dress un-embalmed bodies, rags on the deceased while they’re in the in the same vehicle, extorts money from distraught families, and preys on the vulnerable.
Obviously a vile, greedy, and disrespectful company. Shame on you.

The day my mom passed we call the card in her purse with the phone number for American Memorial Funeral Directors. We spoke with James Colt from the Tacoma office. We called first to let them know and they said they would send a disposal vehicle to pick our mom up. Really a "disposal vehicle". We asked questions about where they were going to take her and all they said was Kent. Kent is a large city and they could not give me a specific location. After hanging up my sister thought about it and decided were not going to place our loved one in the care of these flaky people. I called back and said I was cancelling the service - do not come to pick up our mom. James said I had to use them or I would going against the law. We ended up getting in a huge fight and I said "my mom just passed away, we do not need this" and he answered back "yes I know your mom is dead" then hung up on me. He sent someone anyway and we told that person we had made other arrangements and did not need their services. She sat in the drive way and we got another call from James who said "he had someone already called who was sitting in the driveway and we would have to pay for that person". Long story we did not use American Memorial Funeral Directors and when we requested a refund from them for my moms insurance she had pre-paid they refused and said we used it up with the lady sitting in the driveway. I requested a copy of ours mom contract with him on 3 occasions and have yet to receive a copy. i have reported this company to the DOL Cemetery Board. They should not be allowed to stay in business. We ended up using the services of a wonderful company of our choice and had the most amazing experience we could have hoped for. I am still trying to get a copy of my moms contract but with not luck. DO NOT USE AMERICAN MEMORIAL FUNERAL DIRECTORS!

We arranged for the cremation and paid in full. Now the ashes are being held for ransom. They called 8 days after payment asking for SS number that they could not find on their paperwork. Said that if we wanted cremation done sooner we would have to pay$450 extra. We had to return home and was told that the shipment would normally cost extra, but the fee would be waived. Now they have called saying that the shipment would not be waived and that we would not get the remains sent with out paying another$150-.
This feels like extortion and comes at a terrible time. Our emotionally distraught disabled daughter is experiencing extreme distress and panic.
What kind of insensitive monsters are operating this funeral business.

Extremely disappointed in the initial meeting with Barbara at the Everett location. Never once we were offered condolences. She was extremely disorganized and made the meeting drag out to well over 2 1/2 hours. She could not remember the name of my deceased father or me as we went through the paperwork. Sadly, she made this more about her than about honoring my dad. She did provide some good tips for airfare and overall they delivered my dad on time for his funeral with the expedited service. However, Barbara made this an extremely stressful vs. putting us at east. I am sorry to say this, but I would never use the Everett location again.

Not impressed they wanted $ 598.00 to view my brothers body. We had only purchased cremation services. We did not purchase anything else because of the COVID 19 crisis.
Sad that large corporations prey on people in their most vulnerable hours. This was referred to us by the church he attended, makes one wonder if the church gets a kick back - definitely no discount on our end.
