Really cool place to get drinks and appetizers! There is a full bar, with a great cocktail list. Great atmosphere to hang out for almost any occasion.

We went on a Friday after work for drinks, and the Bartender who waited on us was very nice, patient with us, answered our questions, and made great drinks.

It's a small cozy place, which would be great for a date night, and not necessarily, a ladies night out.

Absolutely no complaints on the drinks or service, it was just more quiet than we would have preferred on a Friday. We did not eat there.

You can't go wrong with the short rib empanadas or the Korean fried chicken Bao buns. Drinks and service were excellent. A nice spot for HH after work.

This was a very nice spot to share some small plates and an excellent charcuterie board. The place was very busy, but our server Magda did a great job taking care of us. We had a couple different beers, but the cocktails looked amazing. Can't wait to try a cocktail on my next visit.

Went there for our anniversary during restaurant week and it was really good. Great food. Granted we got 3 courses for $35 but the normal prices seemed reasonable too. Everything was cooked exactly as asked. Probably a little bit loud as the evening went on but the service was good and we went on a sunny day so the setting was perfect. Would recommend.

Wonderful meal! I recommend the pad Thai. To be honest the drinks did not surprise me but they were decent enough in the Wilmington.

Great place to hang out and unwind. The specialty drinks are the best and there's something for everyone. The food is so delicious and fresh we always order lots to share.

Cool downtown bar on Market St. Good food and drinks. We were served by Albert who was excellent. He had great recommendations for both food and drink. Definetly stop in if you are in the area.

Loved the ambiance! Food and drinks were amazing - highly recommend the crab dip + fish tacos. Best part of the night was our server Albert. Every recommendation he gave was on point and conversation was awesome. We will definitely be back!!!

Merchant Bar...this wasn’t my first choice but I’m glad I ended up going. The atmosphere was great, and it wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be on a Friday night. Great drinks, the food was terrific, and the music was wonderful. If you’re looking for a nice place with good food and drinks look no further.

Love this place for a drink and small bite to eat before local shows. Crab pad Thai for a meal is amazing. Great ambiance and lively crowd.

Merchant Bar is always amazing and a best stop in Wilmington. Staff, craft cocktails and food are top notch.

We made a reservation for 4 on Ny eve. The waitstaff was attentive and courteous - we tried almost all of the small plates on the menu and the Korean chicken bao buns. Everything was so tasty!! Highly recommend the gin based cocktail with cucumber and citrus flavors. So good!

I love the bar and the barman is very talented! Delicious food also and my favorite is the cheese plate.
Edit: may 22nd 2018. It was 10pm, time to go home and I ask the waitress if I could pay and she told me that one of my friend already took care of it. Ok then i ask her if I could have a glass of water and she told me the bar was closed. Dumbfounded i asked again about water, you know H20, this free good supplied by the city and she refused again. Well ok we just paid 150$ to your bar and you refuse a glass of water, I guess I understand why you are a waitress and not the owner of this place. A glass of water.

My husband and I had the BEST experience at Merchant Bar. We stopped for a drink before a game on a whim and loved it so much, we came back for late night bites and another cocktail. Albert and Jasmine are the kindest people (and Jasmine wasn’t even working).

Albert is one of the best bartenders in the business. We bought a sweet vermouth from Total Wine based on his recommendation for a cherry cola manhattan cocktail recipe and he was spot on.

We loved everything about this place (the fried chicken bao buns are incredible) and can’t wait to return!

Albert was our bartender and he was personable, fun to interact with and knew the drinks on the menu well! He also made me the best spicy margarita I’ve ever had.

Living in a town where a traditional cocktail is hard to get, it was a great treat for me to have an EXCELLENT Old Fashion. One of the best I have had and that is my drink. The small plates were exceptional. The bar reminds me of a bistro in a much larger city. I like the space and atmosphere. Will be returning soon to sample their special drinks and more of the food. And I did return and had the Gentleman's Jig. Just the best. My friend liked the hip atmosphere. Still the best cocktails around and food too, excellent.

Overall a great experience, bartender listened and was thoughtful in making some great/creative suggestions we thoroughly enjoyed. This even included some mocktails for the one of us not drinking that night, but not wanting to miss out. The shrubs and bitters made on site were delightful. The food we ordered was all presented very nicely and tastes ranged from OK to great depending on the dish. Overall very enjoyable experience that will definitely cause us to come back.
