Sound Benefit Administration

My old company recently engaged with Sound Benefit Administration and all I can say is I wish they done it sooner. I have been working with Gina and she has been amazing. The philosophy at Sound Benefit Administration is one of customer service and that is very clear with each phone call I place to them for help. I have run into a bump or two with the old plan admin and SBA (Gina) has been so responsive, getting back to me with in minutes of leaving a message - and typically I get them live. When you are in a situation where you need to rely on folks to help navigate health and dental coverage in between jobs, I am so happy to these guys working quickly to answer my questions. Thank you! In 2022, my COBRA coverage was administered through a different company, and my previous employer switched to Sound Benefit Administration at the very end of 2022. After the open enrollment period had ended through the WA Health Exchange, I was informed that my premium was over doubling (from $375 to nearly $800 a month!). The delay in being informed was through no fault of SBA—it was entirely on Regence who was late to process my previous employer’s plan.

Without getting into the messy details, I attempted (and failed) at getting a less expensive health insurance plan through the Health Exchange via special enrollment. I asked Gina if she could think of anything I could do, and she ended up reaching out to her contact at WA Health Exchange who then went to bat for me and got Regence to accept a special enrollment application for a less expensive plan. During this process, I also started working with an insurance broker at another company, and Gina coordinated with him to make sure I was getting the best help possible.

Honestly I was shocked at the amazing quality of customer service from Gina and the rest of the team at SBA. It feels rare to interact with a company that truly cares about their customers, but SBA is that company that truly cares!
