Awesome store! Everything is well sorted, great variety and lots of room to browse in the main room. There’s a smaller room with a ton of discount vinyl. Today was my first visit and left with 8 albums. Some of the new stuff I was looking for was out of stock, but they’re high demand items so not fault on their part. Will definitely be back to spend a few more hours browsing.

At least 70% of my collection has come from this local shop. Todd and Melissa are amazing extremely helpful when looking for a specific item. The shop itself is organized and clean (for those worried about covid and sanitizer bottles are located at the front to use). During Record Store Days things can become a little hectic even then the staff is still friendly.

If you’re looking for more foreign music though I’d recommend checking out their sister store International Grove Records 280 E Main St Unit 116

A great record store to shop at! This is one of my favorite record stores to shop at in Delaware! There is a wide variety of new and used vinyl at great prices! Owners are super friendly and are always willing to give new recommendations!

To say Rainbow Records is very well organized would be an understatement. I'm always impressed with a great selection of vinyl records. They have records to cover about 95% of an individuals taste. Answering a few questions and they can suggest something you might even know you needed.

Best record store in New Castle County. They have a LARGE selection of vinyls and cds and the service was great! Though my first vinyl had several skips in each track (my fault for buying a used vinyl), the other vinyls are some of the cleanest I’ve ever gotten.

Long spot to get music. First time in this newest location. Finally, free parking! Like the new spot, plenty of stuff and a decent sized spot. Lots to look at, new and used. Great great great

THE best record store around, terrific selection, amazingly helpful staff and management, and really thoughtful layout with new and different things being added all the time. And it's a great place to learn about the local music scene and meet new artists. Highly recommended!!

Rainbow Records should be listed in guidebooks (do they still make those?) for the Delaware Valley area. A total pillar of the community whose support for artists and other businesses is unparalleled, Rainbow also carries a diverse selection of records, tapes, CDs, and one-of-a-kind local art that makes it truly unique.

Being a frequent Rainbow patron when I lived in Delaware actually had a massive impact on my music taste by opening me up to all kinds of music from around the world - a mission carried on by its nearby sister store International Groove Records, which is also a can't-miss. You can find everything from the latest releases to rare grails to beloved classics, often cheaper than you'd find elsewhere. Even after moving out of state I still try to come by when I can - and the people who work there are brilliant, friendly, and the kindest folks you could hope to meet.

Rainbow is super welcoming store with a great selection of stuff to choose from and the staff is equally as great, there to help you with anything you might need. Rainbow is also extremely supportive of the local artists and other social causes in the area and is an all around great place to shop

Been shopping here since 1991. Ownership and store locations have changed throughout the years (and in the case of location, changed back again) but the shop is alive and kicking and does a great vinyl business. They stock a ton of new and used vinyl, and constantly get in new stock of both. The current owners (Todd and Miranda) are super cool and supportive of the local town and music scene. A great indie shop!!
Update: Ownership changed to longtime employee now owner Melissa! It's good to know the shop is in good hands for the next chapter. Still loving Rainbow!!!

This store is awesome. Has a nice selection, organized, and cleans vinyl, as well!
My daughters love to go here and will insist on coming here, even though we live in Elkton. I called recently and inquired to asked if they were open a particular day. I was told they were not, but recommended two local record stores that were nearby and gave positive remarks about the owners by name!
Anyone willing to help other businesses of the same genre is a friend of mine.

Iconic local record shop in Newark & the new owner is awesome! Plus they give back to the community and help organize live music events across the state of Delaware.

Came in right at closing so I didn’t get the full experience but this is a very well-stocked store with a great selection of new sealed and used records. Big selections for a bunch of genres including the ever elusive progressive rock category. Bought something out of that section without really thinking about it. It’s my favorite style and the record looked glossy and clean so I thought I’d take the chance. If I lived closer I’d be here very often; I’ll have to settle for a visit once every year or so.
