OMG I ate the best baklava in Houston! When the doors of the food mart opened, the aroma that hit me was insane! I didn’t bother to look at any of the products on the shelves. My nose literally led me to the back of the food mart where the bakery is.

I saw trays and trays of different kinds of baklavas in the display cases. I got greedy (as usual when it comes to sweet food) and asked for eight different kinds of baklavas. The baklavas were sold by per pounds. Luckily I brought my Turkish friend along which helped in the communication part, and I was able to get a few pieces of each kind. The baklavas weren’t too sweet, and they were so awesomely good. If I have to choose one favorite (trust me, it is tough to have one favorite only), it would have to be the cold baklavas with hazelnut or pistachios. Eat them straight out from the fridge is just aaahhhh… Diyarbakir Burma with pistachio had a good texture contrast that was so good.

I also got the rice pudding (forgot to take a pic because I gobbled it down before I remember to take a pic) which came in a small rectangle aluminum tray. The rice pudding was baked well, and it wasn’t overly sweet. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Other than sweets, the bakery sells breads too. That would be the food item l will purchase on my next visit.

This is the best Turkish Market in the country. Groceries can be found everywhere but you can not find their Doner, borek, and fresh simit anywhere else.

Hands down the most authentic and fresh place for real turkish döner I have had anywhere in US. They bake their own pita bread and meat is sliced thin right off the gyro. Also a great place for turkish groceries, baklava and my favorite su börek.

P.S: Just to make sure you know that the doner is only available on weekends (Sat & Sun). Though I wish it was available throughout the week.

My favorite Halal Market. Always they have fresh meat, bread. I like yummy cookies and honey in this market. Employees are polite

Very pleased to find this jewel of Turkish foods in Houston so close to home. Somewhat familiar with the cuisine of this entry point into Europe. Store has increased in floor space allowing for more merchandise availability. The store almost always fresh merchandise waiting to placed on the shelves.

I think this place is pretty clean and organized. Products are fresh and priced accordingly. It is not too big of a place but I think they have good selection of Mediterranean products. They have a small section of produce too. They are very particular about their meat products. They only sell Halal. I believe chicken is hand cut. You can ask them to make sure. Give it a try I think you will get hooked up too.

If you are a fan of Turkish cuisine, this is the place to go to find your ingredients. Staff is very friendly. Store is always clean and neat. They sell halal meat and chicken.

Very clean place with a lot of Turkish products. They also have Turkish baklava with is ok if fresh. Meat shop is excellent if they have the meat that you nead. A good place of getting done hard to find halal food.

This is very clean and bright market that I enjoy to be inside. They have variety of choices in Mediterranean Foods. Employers are so kind and always smile. If you need clean, delicious, and halal meat or chicken, this is your place.

This is a Turkish market with halal meat and fresh vegetables. Best cucumbers around! Great selection of imported goods from all over Turkey and other countries in the region.

A very nice spot for Turkish ingredients. Prices are not rocketed compared to other authentic Turkish foodstuff locations, place is tidy, very nice "ciğ kofte and sarma" and the people are always eager to give you a warm smile.

I am glad being able to find Turkish and Middle Eastern products in this market. Butchers are capable of preparing your order well and customer service is successful.
