Excellent through and through. This hidden jewel is authentic Hungarian food with a casual setting for a really enjoyable meal. Highly recommend. Everything on the brief and selective menu was delicious and made to order. The chef made our visit a true culinary experience and we HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for eat in, or take out. YUMMY!

Three of us came and had a wonderful time. The Chicken Paprika, the Jager schnitzel, and stuffed cabbage. All three were amazing and delicious. Very reasonable prices. A definite must if you want great food.

I ordered the stuffed cabbage to go and it was absolutely delicious! It came with a slice of their homemade bread which was also very good. Large portions and was enough for both dinner and lunch the next day. 10/10 will definitely be back again.

Great authentic Hungarian food. I had Pork Paprikas and Stuffed Cabbage. Both were delicious. The decor was very homey and comfortable. The owner was extremely friendly and conversational. You can tell he is very passionate about his food. There are different items on the menu depending on what day you go.

I strongly recommend giving this place a try. I'm definitely going to come back!

Food is authentic and exceptionally delicious. Atmosphere was relaxed with soft music in the background. Decorations show a true personality belonging to the proprietor. One of the best meal experiences I've had in a long time.

Was really happy to find this joint while in town. The owner was super friendly and even had time to sit down and chat with us for a while. We enjoyed the food and the family atmosphere. They had a community jigsaw puzzle on one table, books and magazines for people to read, over all very family oriented. We will visit again when in the area!

**UPDATE**
We were attending the Kilgore Oktoberfest downtown and was excited to see Brigitta's set up. We opted out of the other lines to go straight to where we knew the food was good. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. They only took cash, so we walked 4 blocks to the ATM, paid the $5 total fee to remove cash, walked back and stood in line a second time. Ordered the sausage and a chicken schnitzel sandwich and paid almost $20. The sausage was ok, but wasn't hot, it came with a bun and mustard. The sandwich was literally a frozen chicken patty that had been heated up. It came with a bun and you put your own condiments on it. I'm glad we went to the restaurant in town first, because had this been our first visit, we never would've tried the other one.

First time dining here. Menu and hours are limited. They have daily specials but it is a good selection of about 10 items. I had the Chicken Paprikas with Spattle. My husband had the stuffed cabbage with sauerkraut. We loved every bite. Then came the homemade Tiramisu. That was very yummy. I highly recommend them as your next stop to eat.

This is the place that day trips were made for. Authentic Hungarian food served by a mom and pop owner that are absolutely delightful to watch bicker with each other. You can try strudel you can have schnitzel you can have homemade brats aka bratwursts. They ship nationwide to 48 states. If you're traveling along I-20 between Dallas and Shreveport Louisiana you should make this an in-between destination for great food. Check out their website for Hungarian delivery nationwide.

The food is amazing. I don't normally enjoy cabbage, the Owner let my sample the stuffed cabbage and the pork saka. Both were delicious. I ate the beef poprikosh, (my spelling sucks) and it was good to. I personally reccomend the Stuffed Cabbage. It's what I'm going to get next time. Very friendly staff.

We ordered stuffed cabbage and chicken paprikish. The pasta served with the chicken paprikish was really delicious! All of the food was really good! They do serve real mashed potatoes and freshly made bread! The only drawback is there's only two of them so the service is a little lacking. They do a good job considering there's only two people working. I was a little disappointed that they did not have any desserts to choose from. Considering we were some of the first guests on a Friday afternoon, you would think that there would be a selection to choose from. The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable. I asked lots of questions about the food and she was very patient in answering... Definitely will be going back and would recommend highly!

Fantastic food and friendly owners. We went to Brigitta’s for an early dinner on a Friday night and had a great experience. It is a 30-minute drive from our home, but we’ll definitely be back. The food was great, the place is very kid-friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable.

Amazing food. Definitely a unique offering in East Texas. The menu always changes too! Worth going if you've never been, or if you've never tried Hungarian food!

I spent a lot of time overseas while I was in the military and walking into this place brought back so many good memories. It's decorated just like the small restaurants you would encounter in Germany or any other European country. The husband was in another room hand making sausage and his wife was working behind the counter. Very friendly people! You can smell the spices when you walk in the door....Ahhhh!!!

I ordered the stuffed cabbage rolls and my wife ordered the stuffed bell pepper. It came out very quickly. All I can say about the food is....wow. So good! The mashed potatoes were real potatoes, not the instant kind you get at restaurants from food chains. The cabbage rolls were perfectly cooked and tasted like anything you get in a side street European restaurant. It was the perfect blend of spices. The bread was warm and soft, and slightly sweet.

They do serve on paper plates and give plastic utensils....in my food euphoria, I broke my fork....lol. But, it's only the husband and wife working there. I think it adds to the ambience of the restaurant!!

We will definitely be back!! I give it a solid 5, or higher if I could, stars.

Drove all the way from downtown Dallas to come try this place! My fiancé is 1st generation American (he’s Hungarian) and LOVED the food! I myself had never had Hungarian food (at the time) & I absolutely loved it! We ate there almost two years ago before COVID & I was wanting to go back so I’m glad it has survived!!!!!

Went for the first time yesterday while visiting Kilgore. The atmosphere is a nice, quaint little place, and the food was great. Had the cabbage rolls, which were delicious and very filling. It was a nice introduction to real Hungarian food. The only drawback was a limited daily menu, which is understandable being a small operation. Definitely recommended!
