This place is a "throw-back" from years gone by.
Ole time hardware store reminds you of the old "Waltons" t.v. show; - "good night John boy", (I know I'm dating myself now,
just Google the Waltons), anyway, the owner has been there for years.
He was the victim of a hit-and-run driver a while back that made the local news, but he bounced back, and is ready to service most hard to find hardware store items.
I highly recommend this establishment.

I came across this gem of a hardware store off the beaten path, by searching for a place that has history in saint louis. This is the spot! Andy and Steve were just wonderful with how they greeted me, from my phone call earlier with Andy. I was calling because I had an emergency with losing my house key and needed more copied ASAP. Lovely brothers, who clearly care about their customers and value their work. These two are my heroes and I will continue to shop there for my basic hardware needs! 14th street over 50 years ago was on the beaten path, but seriously its worth a stop! It reminds you of back in the day when shops were rustic. I highly recommend. Keep it LOCAL! Cheers! And thank you!!

Realistic down to earth items that are necessities such as fittings PVC and copper as well as bolts and misc hardware.

Love this neighborhood hardware store. The guys there are very friendly and knowledgeable about whatever you want. I've rarely not found what I was looking for.

I have been going here since I was a child. I am well over forty now. So many memories over the years.I can run to this store instead of driving to home depot or lowes for a lot of things. I have to buy my brooms, rakes and mops from there. Good quality items. The owner is always nice. There was three guys and now there's only one. I support this hardware as much as I can. I like the peaceful quiet atmosphere.

147 years in the same location tells the story better than I ever could. Marx provides that personal touch and friendly conversation while you get what you need. They provide services that you won't get from the big chain hardware stores. Today, I had a specific size glass cut to replace a window. I drove from Belleville IL because I know that Marx will have what I need. While I waited, I also got a tip on how to change a light switch on a ceiling fan.

I've lived in North STL for almost eleven years and yesterday was my first time shopping at Marx Hardware. Best hardware store I've been to in my life. Amazing place, and to think all the years I've mistakenly shopped at big box stores. Love Marx Hardware and shopping locally. Plan to be back frequently!

This is the place you need for home repair items and the advice to get it done. From the wood stove to the bins full of every hardware item imaginable, you feel like you’ve entered a time machine and gone back to a simpler time. I go here for many things and save time by not going to the big name stores full of junk.

They are kind and straight to the point with no run around. Always smiling and has wonderful customer service.

Friendly and helpful neighborhood hardware store. They have pretty much everything you need when you're in a jam. For me it's been plumbing supplies, tape and scissors.

Get plumbing, electric or carpentry hardware needs. Found an old fashion cotton mop, not too light or heavy. Take cash, does not accept cards.

Very nice, professional and personable man. Can find some unique finds there amongst hardware supplies. Cash only.

The man that owns this place is so sweet & courteous . I will do all my hardware shopping here. This store probably cant compete with big box pricing but i dont care about that .
