Clean, bright, clear sign everywhere and there is an Officer (office manager) until late night who is willing to help the tourists who come to D.C for the first time. This woman officer even took time to get out of her room to help and explain us about how the Metro ticket-machine works and recommend us for what kind of ticket we should buy. Thank you!

Beautiful place,
huge, lot of marble inside,
huuuge colons outside,
and direct view to the Capitol Hill.
There are some stores, juice bars, bputiques etc... inside...
Come and see it, you wont regret.

Nice station, clean and beautiful. Just surprised at the homelessness issue here. It is sad to see it and it is way more than I expected compared to my trips in Grand Central NYC.

There are not many food choices here other than chains and fast food. Lots of stores are closed, so not much to do here either.

Its just a train station afterall.

Noting it is extremely easy to navigate yourself here, easy to find your way. Either bus or train. Not a sightseeing spot.

A great station, with LOTS of parking.

Unfortunately, the Starbucks closed in early 2023.

A few more unhoused individuals hanging around than I would like, but significant police presence.

Make sure -if driving to parking garage, you know ahead of time if the primary entrance (to right of main entrance is closed). The alternate way is fine, but adds a few minutes to the trip.

Stopped by for a few minutes while waiting for the next train and I must say that it was BEAUTIFUL! I truly enjoyed walking through and seeing the ceiling and statue's and diversity of people all around. They have a big food court with different stuff you can select from and they have many stores and even shoe shining is available! If you go outside there is a beautiful scenery waiting for lots of pics 😉 and I've heard that there are many places to visit near by and many of them are free , such as museums and so on. This is a great place to visit if your ever in DC !

I was here on 20Apr.2021. The area around the Washington Union Amtrak train station has a great deal off homeless people living around the area. Other than that, the building inside is nice and not too busy(even w/COVID-19)as I thought it may be. There are a few restaurants and shops inside and the architecture and statues are lovely. I was assisted with information from a wonderful ticket agent at the train station. Lovely and friendly lady. So glad the company hired someone like her. Overall great experience. That was a great first trip.

Everytime I arrive at Union Station I am mesmerized by how magnificent this station is! Real marble? Gorgeous vaulted ceilings? Lined with a great selection of shops and restaurants, and right next to the bus terminal! There's also a connection to the Washington Metro system right outside. Unfortunately the Metro doesn't run all night, definitely something to note.

One of the cleanest, spacious and beautifully built union stations that I’ve been to. There are various restaurants and coffee shops available to grab a bite/drink before the journey.
The restrooms were clean and are well maintained.
At early hours, we saw only McD open for coffee and Starbucks might open around 5:30-6:00am.

The Uber pickup and drop offs are just outside the union station. They also offer Red Cap service, which we didn’t use at this time to review.

The architectural designs throughout the facility is superb. You can see the great lengths that are gone through to modernize it. Though It swarms with homelessness in and out side. which raises the question, are we spending necessary money for luxuries or betterment of humanity? Inside each corridor and crevice there is some shop that will surely help pass the time while waiting on a pick up, or transfer. It boast of many Good eats, even places to grab good spirit drinks, smoothies, or choice coffee. Altogether a decent transfer hub with adequate security. Restrooms were partially functional and could use a constant attendant.

This is probably one of the best stations you can find in North America. the building is very beautiful with many facilities, restaurants, shops, etc. it looks like an old fashion commercial center. It is served by the subway and Amtrak. It is the best way to visit the capital using the train if you are staying in a city near by. I came for a day trip using Acela from Philadelphia. the station is worth as much as it is the congress building.

Opened in 1908 it’s hard not to be impressed by the stone inscriptions and allegorical sculptures in the Beaux Arts format. In many ways Union Station with its gold leaf and sculptures is more ornate than Grand Central in NYC. Even if you are not taking the train I recommend a visit here.

There are also plenty of quick dining venues and a food court below. There is pretty much something for everyone. The Amtrak area is as you might expect more run down. Outside you will be greeted by a significant homeless population which like to congregate perhaps to enjoy the beauty of the structure.

Tip cab lines can be long but the Metro Red line is also attached.

This building is amazing. Stunning. Beautiful. Lots of stores and food to choose from. Great service by the staff and easy to park. If you have to catch a bus or something come with spare time to take pics.

This train station was great. We had children with us so the boarding attendant got us from the middle of the line and allowed us to board (it takes a tad longer with 2 kids and 4 bags in tow). Everyone was very polite and helpful at the station. It was early in the a.m. on a Sunday morning so the traffic was sparse but steady. After our train station/riding experience I'd choose a train over a commercial flight if time weren't an issue. Our kids enjoyed the train station and train ride over air travel as well.

I had originally just seen one part of the station, but when I walked a little further I realized the place was huge and had an incredible amount of stores to shop or eat at.
The design and architecture of this station is just espectacular. Considering that I came here during Covid19 the place wasn't really busy but it does seem like a place that would be bustling under regular circumstances. Definitely worth checking out if you have a more extended stop here.
