Columbus Circle, Union Station

GORGEOUS, easy to navigate, and good (albeit expensive) food inside! I have a 5hr layover coming up in there and im not even mad about it. I'd like to just take my family here to experience it as it is and oh!! When you walk out the front door you can see the Capitol Building!!

Nice architecture

Spent a few moments outside observing the holiday decorations at Union Station. Upon arrival inside, I observed large crowds preparing for the Union Station Norwegian Tree Lighting Ceremony, in the Main Hall. I thought the program was very good. They had choral performances, tree lighting count down, and Yo-Yo Ma rounding out, a full program of holiday entertainment.

So cool. Very big. Very helpful with my 5 month Olds things (stroller, car seat, luggage). Everyone had a great attitude toward me.

Stopped in to get tickets for the big red bus. I have to say this place is beautiful inside. Looks really nice when the Christmas tree is up. Can’t wait to stop by again in the future.

ワシントンDCの地上移動交通機関の総合駅　地下鉄（Red Line）、地方コミュータ鉄道のMARC(メリーランド州に展開の)電車、全米のネットワークで繋がるAmTrak.　これに観光バスや市バスのターミナル駅でもあり、総合駅に相応しい。

だが、USが人気ある本当の意味は、建屋地下１階の飲食店街が提供する世界中の食事を楽しめるエリアなのだ。アメリカには、鉄道ファンは少ない。乗る前後に、車内食堂のない車両に備えて、軽食を買い込むには、この飲食店街が絶好なのである。

1階には、フルコースを提供するレストランもあるし、ファッション街でもあり、観光客のみならず、地元民も利用しているショッピングセンターでもある。

Constituye una de las principales estaciones de Washington D.C. A ella llegan las líneas de tren de las compañías Amtrak, Virginia Railway Express y MARC. La terminal conecta con la parada de metro Union Station de la línea roja. Además, frente a ella se encuentran numerosas paradas de bus, lo que hace que Union Station sea un punto clave para la circulación de la ciudad.
Cada una de las estatuas del ático representan a un personaje mitológico o histórico en referencia a un tema: Prometeo por el fuego, Thales por la electricidad, Temis por la libertad y la justicia, Apolo por la imaginación e inspiración, Ceres por la agricultura y Arquímedes por la mecánica. Las inscripciones del ático también reflejan los ideales del Renacimiento Americano. Como ejemplo podemos ver la inscripción lateral que dice: “El, que quiere traer a casa la riqueza de las Indias, debe llevar la riqueza de las Indias consigo, puesto que es al viajar cuando un hombre debe llevar consigo el conocimiento si ha de traer el conocimiento a casa”. En definitiva, ambos edificios se configuran a través de un muro en el que se superpone un sistema compositivo de arcos y columnas, organizado simétricamente mediante una parte baja principal y un ático secundario.

Um lugar muito legal e que traz uma mistura de modernidade e classe ao mundo do transporte ferroviário! Para brasileiros é uma grande experiência.

Great place! But not very 1st timer friendly. It took me a little extra searching to find what I needed. Along the way, I had several other 1st timers asking me and others for help.
