Kent County Courthouse

We learned about this building on the Dover Green historic walking tour from costumed guides. This building is connected to the modern courthouse. It is still used for larger trials. There were several previous buildings on this site, including an inn.

Had a pleasant experience at the Prothonotary’s office this morning! The office was very relaxed, and the young lady who assisted us was very helpful and kind to us. Even the officers at the entrance were friendly, yet very professional.

I was deeply saddened to see (in real time) such a flawed system. A system kept in place by injustice, not because of injustice. After serving my country honorably for over 20 years, I was hurt to see this ugly side of our nation. The side where war is on the homefront and the only weapons needed are anger and ignorance. The side where "war" is welcomed and even fostered.

As for the courthouse itself, it was well lit, clean, reasonable bathroom accommodations, temperature controlled, and pleasant staff (outside the courtrooms.)
