Balance Coffee and Tea

Barista knew what a Cortado is so that was promising…and it didn’t disappoint. Ended up having two along with a pumpkin muffin. Warm, comfortable place with friendly staff.

It was my first time here and I can promise it won't be my last. The interior is clean and spartan but in a way that lets you know that coffee and tea are the main attractions. Their menu is small, which I think is a big plus. Too many choices can just muddy the water and I know I would rather have a couple great choices than a plethora of mediocre ones.

I ended up being there longer than I originally thought so the cappuccino I got was followed by the best cold brew I've ever had (Portland and Seattle included). The seating was ample for the mostly short visits people were making. For those of us spending extra time there were tables, a common area, and even window benches perfect for a cozy couple or a procrastinating student.

The food selection was small but they are not billing themselves as a good place so no reason to take away anything. I think this place could expand to use all of its square feet and possibly branch out into open mic nights and local talent. They certainly have made a good first impression on not only me, but all of their smiling faces in and out of their doors.

My espresso drinks were beautiful and delicious. The croissant sandwich was delicious. The staff is friendly. I love that they only use biodegradable plastics and paper for their to-go containers. And, the atmosphere is comforting and wonderful.

My only negative thought is that I wish they wouldn't grill press their croissant sandwiches. I appreciate having a hot sandwich, and every part of it is delicious. But, let the croissant part be the flaky and airy pastry it was meant to be.

What an awesome place! They have an excellent selection of coffee, drinks and food. The staff and the facility are really cool, too. Plenty of parking. The place is clean. It's adult and kid friendly. Solid all around. I look forward to my next visit. Thanks!

Amazing enviroment! I love their coffee! My personal favorite is their Vanilla Cafe Latte! This place is also very environmentally friendly! Their lids, cups, etc are all biodegradable! And the people working there are always so chipper and never fail to put me in a great mood!

Everything about Balance is great! The coffee has phenomenal flavor and all the cups, lids, utensils are 100% biodegradable. Vegan and keto friendly!

Awesome place. It’s so cozy inside and completely comfortable to sit and read or just hang out. All the drinks we’ve had (husband gets coffee or Americana-styles, I get tea lattes usually) are delicious and just what we wanted. Power balls are the perfect snack. Breakfast sandwiches are so good! Definitely worth a try.

Cozy environment, friendly staff, fair pricing and excellent coffee. Blueberry lemon muffin was moist and fluffy. Coffee cake was delectable.

This is a great place to sit and relax with friends and enjoy coffee or tea....hot or cold. It’s also nice to sit and work for a while.

From the staff, the drinks and food, to the environment- everything about this place is warm, inviting, and exceptional. You can tell they really care about local/neighborhood businesses and consumers as well. Their prices are great!!! Every time I visit, I am always welcomed with a great attitude and smile by the staff. They are always making sure they take care of their quests with a positive attitude, even when I have seen how busy they can be- they are genuinely nice! I love coming here!

A great pour of espresso roasted on the spot. Marshall has created a friendly and comfortable atmosphere to be proud of.

The cutest place with the best drinks. I love their Italian soda. Almost all of their large drinks are still in the $3 range, which you can’t beat for a coffee place. Employees are nice, decor is wonderful, and the drinks are delicious. The place is very clean as well. 5/5

Edit: something that is a huge problem for balance in the summer is the flies! Inside we have five or six flies all over us so it can be super frustrating.

I lived in NYC for almost 3 years and tried a different coffee shop at least once a week. Balance Coffee & Tea has the best coffee I have had to date! Not only is the coffee great, but the staff is super nice, the interior is welcoming and they use biodegradable products! Highly recommend!!

My husband and I visit Balance almost every single Saturday. We love it. Staff is always friendly, the drink menu is varied, and they have amazing pastries and food items (try the Vegan Banana Muffin if you can). They have a decent selection of sugar-free syrups and milk substitutes, and they even carry a decaf espresso for those afternoon latte cravings. The space itself is also nice - fun, laidback aesthetic and plenty of seating options.

A great Belleville stop on your way to or from work! Balance renovated an old train depot into a comfy coffee house with a great selection and a friendly staff! Parking can be a little tight, but most people are in and out pretty quickly. The breakfast sandwiches and protein balls were a great start to the day!

The coffee prices are fair and not overpriced. I would highly recommend for meetings, dates, or just to meet up with others.

The seating arrangements allow for privacy when wanted and social gatherings when needed! Comfortable and laid-back set up.

What a fun experience nice place to take a break. I have always liked the depot building and have thought it would make an adorable eating establishment of some sort. Balance coffee and tea is perfect. Some eats and lots of delicious drinks. Different seating areas for large groups or small seating by windows sofas etc. Customers visiting, on computers , reading, reading to children. Very relaxing! The young man that waited on us very helpful and informative. Everyone should visit it's a place that is fun to go back too.

wow! super impressed when I walked in! super friendly staff also informed me that I could get a salad to go along with my croissant which I took, lots of different seating options inside to include couches and standard cafe tables. love the decor in here too. only thing i would improve is the variety of croissants so it's not just tuna :D

Relaxed atmosphere perfect for catching up with a friend or some reading. Timeless style, friendly staff, and options you don't usually have in the area! More espresso-based and veg friendly. Very environmentally friendly. Location and building offer character. I love it here!

Balance is far and away the best coffee shop around. I have literally never left disappointed. I live in st louis, but with go 30 minutes out of my way just for this shop; I absolutely adore the staff as well as the atmosphere. I regularly spend my time here just talking with the staff and customers. Would recommend wholeheartedly.
