Mutual Ace Hardware

This Ace hardware store has the most knowledgeable and friendly staff I have ever experienced. I am a retired contractor and love shopping here and getting the advice for the right products. The level of services offered is incredible. This is my go to hardware store.

Ace is the place with the helpful hardware people. They helped me find the tool I needed by Toughbuilt Industries.

No need to travel to the huge box stores when you can come to your local Mutual Ace Hardware store and find a wide variety of pretty much everything you need for DIYers at reasonable prices. Not a DIYer but want to fix something and not sure what to do, this place has plenty of helpful associates to answer your questions and lead you to the right item you may need. This establishment also has a rental area of tools and equipment to help get the job done right.

One of the largest selections of merchandise of any Ace hardware you'll visit. You'll find whatever you need and a bunch you didn't know you needed also. If you need it, it's here.

Best Ace around! Jim was super helpful. The had the Weber E6 although the Weber site did not!

Plus they have everything from hard to find lights to bird feed and feeders for a nice price.

Almost forgot, they have lots of cooking fuel, including every smoking chip you can think of for a reasonable price.

They also have great plants and a team that can advise and execute from cutting glass for window replacement to picking bird feeders, to finding the right ant for your needs

How can you not like going here! The atmosphere is great, people are great & you get caught up browsing every aisle.

Good hardware supplies. The store practices good COVID-19 safety procedures. The staff members were welcoming.

I shop here often. Very helpful staff and a large variety of hardware items and plants. They also have one of the best rental operations in the North Shore.

Loved this place. Great experience. Had to pay $5 more per propane bottle for a refill. But the staff were so helpful, and nice. Helped load the car. I'll happily 😊 pay the extra $5 for the professionalism. They were even sweet to my daughter. 5 🌟 treatment.

Really nice people and great service. If all you care about is getting the lowest price, by all means stick with the big box stores but don't be surprised when you get home and realize you don't have everything you need for your project. That's not going to happen if you take the time to ask Mutual's knowledgeable staff for suggestions.
Or, if you buy a lawnmower there (like I did), you will have the help of two guys bringing it out to your car to help you load it in; or provide delivery if needed.
Besides the great service, it's kind of fun just to walk around and be in awe of the vast selection of stuff they carry here. It's guaranteed you'll find something you need while you're browsing.
I love supporting a local store and spending money in the town where I live as opposed to the big boxes. Great job, Mutual!

The best hardware place in highland park

Bought a Stihl trimmer and needed help with the line. Brought it back and they cared enough to spend the time to help.

Everyone is knowledgeable and helpful. This Ace store has just about everything you could expect to find at a large 'big box' hardware store. Staff is capable of helping find a solution to your problem or in lending advice on your weekend project. Expansive power tool rental selection as well as some smaller excavation equipment. I've been a satisfied customer for over 15 years.

Not only did she redeem my opinion of this store, Maria was able to answer questions about some products that other store personnel could not. Simple questions like where is product, the accessories, how do these work with the product. If you need help, ask for her.
Old time hardware store loaded with stuff from hummingbird perches to benjamin moore. Great place to find things not available in the big box stores like the good metal polishes, etc.
Also has equipment rental.

This is everything a local hardware store should be. Full range of hardware and tools, household products, tool rental, garden shop, and limited landscape stone materials. This is my go-to store for friendly service and creative solutions when I have a one-off hardware related problem.
