During AM drop off the staff person told me not to get out and walk my son to the door that he was fine with her. I explained to her that he needs to be walked in until he gets use to the school. I was a little uneasy about it but I complied. I drove up the street towards Raynor Ave. and stopped to get a soda out my trunk. Then as I got ready to get back in my car I saw my five year old ( Now 7 yes) Special Ed. son walking towards Raynor alone. I can't imagine if I did not make that stop where my son would be today. This has made me not trust the staff at this school. Parents and the school staff should be partners in educating and providing a safe environment for the children. This has completely gave me the impression that certain staff members do not care about the safety of All the students at the school. I have been looking for other options because I truly would have lost my mind if anything had happened to my son..

On 1/17/17 a teacher took my child from the car and acted like sge was going to walk him into the school. However, she allowed my five year old to walk down the street in thw opposite direction of the entrance during drop off time. If I had pulled all the way off, and not stopped to get a soda out my trunk; my son would have been on Raynor street alone. Who knows what type of person would have picked him up or where he would be. My son would be missing and I would have went to work not knowing. Scary ordeal for parents! I told the principle and she said okay and ushered me to the door.

Do not treat children with disabilities fairly and make chiuces and decisions that are not beneficial to the child with disabilities.
