I NEVER leave reviews, but cannot leave Ogunquit without leaving one for this store. The owner is the nicest person....he made our day!! He has a beautiful jewelry selection. When we come back this will definitely be a stop, even if it's just to say Hi!

I wish I could rate them a 10!! First, Rod was very welcoming. Second, he really know his sunglasses and carries a quality products for a good price. No typical vacation spot up charge. Also an eclectic and fun gift assortment. Lastly, he’s a genuinely lovely person whose generosity is a rare gift on this world. Shop here, you will not be sorry. We are so grateful for our amazing day in Ogunquit thanks to Rod.

BTW - all the bad reviews seem to reference a less than pleasant person. No sign of her today. Clearly she was taken care of. But retail is a hard business so cut the other some slack when he needs a day off.

Went in to look for sunglasses and learned so much about what I should exactly be looking for when it comes to investing in eye protection.

The service was immaculate. Although I didn't purchase anything I received excellent customer service. My girlfriend and I left this store both in awe about how knowledgeable the woman at the front desk was.

Owner is a gentleman and extremely personable. One of the largest selections of Maui Jim sunglasses you can find.

Wonderful items, like home decor, funny gifts, accessories/jewelry, and super-duper LGBTQ+ friendly. I got 2 leather bracelets with twine and an anchor charm for my boyfriend and I as well as a gift for my mom this past August. Wonderful shop with a wonderful shopkeeper! Agree with other reviewers, pay the low stars no mind : )

I was shocked when saw such a low review, but after reading I could clearly see why so many were upset. My experience this weekend was very much the opposite. I walked into this shop and was greeted by a lovely man, Rod. He sparked the conversation asking where I was from which led to him asking me how I liked the area. I in turn told him how I simply fell I love and found my happy place here. He began to tell me the history and local stories of Ogunquit with such love for the town. I told him he would be seeing more of me as I’ve found my home away from home and looked forward to spending much more time here. I told my family my experience and referred to Rod as my first friend of the area. My kids ages 10 and 11 loved that so much that they made me go back so they could meet him. He greeted them warmly and chatted with them about local kid fun. When we left the shop my son turned to me and said “Wow what a nice man he is.” In fact he wanted to stop in again before we left. Please give this shop another chance and stop in to meet my new found friend, Rod.

I would highly recommend Drop Anchor!!! The owner was EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE and helped us find a great pair of sunglasses within our budget. I would tell EVERYONE, "That is the PLACE TO GO for sunglasses !!"

Came to this store with my cousin and girlfriend. When I asked to try on a pair of glasses I was seriously interested in buying, the sales attendant told me that, because I was holding a cup of coffee, my "hands were wet" and wouldn't take them out of the case for me to try on. She repeated the same process with my girlfriend when she wanted to try on bracelets. She commented on the lack of hair on my chest compared to my legs, and overall made us all feel very uncomfortable. I vacation in Ogunquit yearly and buy a pair of sun glasses at this store yearly, and its a shame because the owner has always been very kind to my family and I. I will never return, and never want to buy anything from this store again. As we exited the sales woman reassured us we could come back with clean hands to try on glasses. I guess they just don't want to actually sell anything.

I was shopping throughout Ogunquit while on vacation and saw this store. I really needed new sunglasses and I like to support small businesses. I walked into the store and I could feel the woman working the register staring at me. While making my way to the sunglasses, I saw a funny book. I was going to take a picture of it and send it to my husband to see if he wanted me to buy it. The woman looked a me and pointed and rudely said "you cannot take pictures in here!" I was like " what?" and she was so nasty saying "I don't allow pictures in here!" Needless to say, I put my phone away and walked out of the store. Not going to spend my money in a place where I was treated and spoken to like that. If she is not the owner, she should be fired. I am sure I am not the only customer that has been treated like that and she is making the place lose business. Our first time in Ogunquit and every other place was wonderful.

The Jamaican woman who approach us at the store was very rude. I hope she’s not the owner because she will be out of business soon.
I was going to buy something but then put it back because of her rude nature . Someone who clearly shouldn’t be in sales or deal with customers or the public or anyone !!!! FYI if you go in the store do not bring your camera she doesn't allow photos in store.

Jamaican women behind counter was wicked rude and offensive. Her gay bashing language actually cleared the store today ! She also grabbed the arm of my friend to pull him to some homemade sign about photography so she's real lucky we didn't press charges for assault. I'd suggest she goes back to Ocho rios with her bad island manners and mouth. Several other customers announced they wouldn't be back and would tell their friends too due to her spectacle.

All the other stores had great sales people that were so helpful and pleasant but whoever owns this store needs some new employees. The woman behind the counter was beyond rude and was on her phone the entire time while yelling at customers. It’s sad because they would do much more business if they had a better staff.
