Great food and service. This was are second visit with the first several years ago, but remembered the fantastic onion rings. Well they still serve the same great onion rings and ordered a fried haddock sandwich that was excellent as well. The onion rings are handmade from with a light breading. The haddock was also lightly breaded and was a very good portion. Certainly, glad to see this place still serving great tasting food with excellent service.

I have been there 3-well spaced out, separate times.. Each time the food and service has been exceptional! (They know how to hire a good crew!) Love that they are ATV accessible. Most recently we had breakfast there, $23 and change for 2. Great place on the wallet.

I love this home ton restaurant. I try to eat here every time I am in Maine. My wife loved the lobster roll, and my chicken was cooked to perfection.

Clean, family oriented restaurant! Generous portion sizes (enough for two meals for our non-kid meals) and excellent cooking. The menu changes, so we were unable to get some of what we wanted this time(fried avocado)- but everything was delicious! Spinach dip, Chicken Parmesan, seafood Alfredo with scallops and shrimp, shrimp and clam plate…. So good!! Fried Shrimp and clam plate with mashed potatoes and veggie of the day pic.

Had great service and a wonderful breakfast... It was off season, and the food was still great, and service was friendly. Absolutely would visit again.

Everything was amazing!!! Our waitress gave honest recommendations which was so appreciated! We loved the Bang Bang Shrimp, The Captains Platter, Cheesecake & Blueberry Ice Cream! It was the best place we had in town!

Nice place to eat! Good food and friendly service. This was our third visit….Never disappointed! Love the fresh Turkey Club and the Reuben. Last time I was here I had the excellent Cobb salad and delicious cream of fiddlehead Soup (since they were in season). Wish I lived closer!

I live in VA. It was a great place to eat, and I am glad that they were open on Labor Day. Thanks to the staff for showing up to work today! I had wedding cake (to go) for dessert!

Great traditional American/Maine cuisine exactly how your Grandma would have made it, lick your plate delicious! Our server Sara was awesome and added a little flair and sauce suggestions to lunch specials. Lobster Stew was flavorful with simple ingredients, and the dessert to take home worth every calorie. Hubby enjoyed the real batter onion rings and steak wrap almost as much as the sweet corn nuggets and southwest egg rolls we shared for apps. Definitely a new stop on our route to Lubec. Great job Blue Bird Ranch Family.

Amazing food and friendly staff. The place itself is very cozy and great prices. Will definitely come again.

Amazing experience. Five days of traveling Maine and this was the best food yet. The staff was friendly and very helpful. If they have it, dont miss the blueberry carrot cake, it is almost heaven on a fork.

This is a really great place to go to eat. We had the crab dip appetizer, a crab roll with fries and the fried haddock with fries and a salad. The zinfandel dressing for the salad was very good. We also got a blueberry milkshake (excellent) and some cookies and all butterfiinger mudslide to take home. Server was friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back if we come back this way.

A gem in the little town of Machias, this place rocks. The service is invariably friendly, the food is like having a home cooked meal if your mom or grandmother were amazing in the kitchen, and the desserts are absolutely legendary. Easy access if you're passing through (super close to the Downeast Sunrise Trail too!) We've tried many things on their menu and it's always amazing.

Traveling through Labor Day weekend with dogs, so we ordered takeout. Fried scallops and whole belly clams (both were fantastic!). Great service both on the phone while placing the order and upon arrival when picking up our food.

Great food and good service. Bluebird got its name because the ranch once grew blueberries and raised chickens! Neat!! :)

Classic long-established local, family-style restaurant/diner. Every comfort/diner food you can imagine (meatloaf, beef tips, hamburger steaks, hot turkey sandwiches, seafood platters) and seasonal specials and amazing homemade pies/desserts to boot. Reasonably priced. Friendly, overworked staff. I pass through the area once per year for vacations and make it a point to stop here for a comforting/satisfying breakfast and dinner.

I was on vacation and we wanted to get something to eat. We looked up several restaurants and checked out the menu. We wanted variety and fair prices. The Bluebird Ranch fit both. The restaurant had a wait because it was busy. We waited about 15 minutes before being sat. The server came over quickly. I ordered the the stuffed Haddock which came with 2 sides. I chose onion rings and Cole slaw,and my friend order ed the fried fish with French fries and onion rings. The food came in a reasonable about of time. The food was hot and delicious. The onion rings were homemade. Delicious,crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Phenomenal. It was cheesecake day. They had 30 flavors to chose from. I ordered the Heath bar and my friend ordered the butterscotch. Fantastic. Very well done Bluebird Ranch family Restaurant in Maine.

Yummy stop in Machias! Get the pretzel fries! They were great! Haddock burger and Reuben was great and got some dessert to go! Cookies and cake! Good service!

After 20-years of absence, it’s always nice to come back to an area and see that the best never changes.

I lived at the Bluebird while stationed at Cutler and the haddock chowder was my absolute favorite...when everyone else had clams or lobster, this was my comfort food “go to”.

Nothing’s changed. Absolutely wonderful chowder: creamy, buttery, fresh, hand-cut potatoes and the best (enormous) chunks of haddock in the Downeast.

Had the stuffed haddock, sweet potato fries and onion rings...it was delicious, generous portions. I was stuffed after had to take desert to go.
