Bluebird Motel

Quitecomfy room. Yes it may look outdated but from someone who travels a lot due to work.....its wonderful. The shower was hot and the bed was comfy. PLUS IT WAS QUIET! I work thirds and was able to sleep during the day no problem. Got back to the room about 1 am and it was still quiet.

The rooms are a little dated. The beds are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly And I drive a big rig. They have parking for tractor-trailers.

The website/Expedia photos are deceptive. It's a lot nicer than you'd expect. I've stayed here twice when traveling through the area. I would consider this an motel older/vintage but 1) reasonably priced; 2) rooms are super clean (both times the rooms smelled of recent Pine-Sol like disinfectant which I think is the best smell you can hope for in an older roadside motel; 3) Bed and bath linens clean and good condition; 4) surprisingly comfortable beds & pillows; 5) super-clean bathroom and plenty of hot shower water; 6) Set back enough from the main road to be quiet; 7) Some rooms are dog-friendly and there's some grassy areas to walk your dog (and even picnic/BBQ); 8) modern/quiet mini-split A/C units. What more do you need? 10/10 recommend for basic, clean, non-pretentious accommodations.

This was a really nice room. It was very clean the staff was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

It was great for a throwback to the old motel days. And good food at the restaurant inside the gas station next door.

Older, smaller rooms, but updated. Very clean & quiet. Nice Bed (newer). GREAT staff, very helpful. Good food nearby in town. No problem recommending at all. Pet Friendly !!

The bluebird motel is like a vintage trip down memory lane. Do you have an actual key to get in your room. Rooms are very clean, pretty, basic and comfortable. The people were wonderful. And the pricing is right. Not a lot around it but it worked perfect for us. And lots of other people because they were full. I enjoyed my stay there and it worked very well for my husband who is handicapped and has problems getting around. And they had a Keurig coffee maker! So I had a good cup of morning coffee. Definitely suggest you check it out if you're in the area.

Very sweet couple runs the place, they even called to check up on me when it was a half hour past my expected arrival time. The rooms were simple but clean. I was also greated by a deer later in the evening when I stepped out of my room which is a 5 star experience in itself.

Found the Bluebird Motel and stayed during our travels, all of the staff were kind and friendly. Enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable rooms. Everything inside and out was in great shape and well maintained. Would definitely stop there again.

Close to everything, good prices, clean rooms friendly staff

I love this motel! The boyfriend and my brother and I all shared a room, it was a perfect size for all of us. This motel is in the perfect location for all the hiking and outdoor activities I love to do. This motel is CLEAN & welcoming. They have Air Conditioning units in the rooms. The rooms are neat and clean when you get in (the photo I have attached to this review is our last day so it's a bit messy that due to us) They offer Direct TV, a Mini Fridge, a Keurig and Free WiFi. This is my second time staying in this motel. The first time we stayed for one night. We stayed in a smoker room (last room available) even though it was a smoking room the smell wasn't bad at all it was extremely clean! This second time we stayed we stayed in a regular room. It was clean, it was presented very nicely. I really enjoy this motel and I think you will too. Also this motel is dog friendly I believe it's $10 extra per night for the doggies! You can also get roll out beds like cots for the room if you need it! This motel is just outside of downtown Machias.

I've stayed here twice. The first time was overnight and the second time was four nights. If you're going to arrive late, be sure to call them on your way and let them know. They'll charge your card over the phone for the nights stay. Drive up to the office and you can find your room key taped to the door. If you have AAA, they also offer AAA discounts.

Both times the rooms were very clean. I thought I had taken pictures of the interior, but apparently I didn't. The sheets on both occasions were beige, with a fleece blanket and the usual sheets underneath. The pillows are very soft (if you prefer firm pillows, bring your own!). The beds are a little on the firmer side, which I personally liked, and comfortable. You'll have a mini fridge that can hold quite a bit, a Keurig along with some Lipton tea, Keurig coffee cups, utensils that come with sugar and powdered creamer, a desk, lamps, night stands, alarm clock, coat rack, shoe mat, and dresser. You can also adjust the heat and cold in the room.

The bathrooms are clean and you're provided with soap and shampoo. The first time there was also conditioner but not on the second.

The first time I stayed one of the two rooms was a smoker room (my sister and her partner stayed in it, she doesn't smoke). When I went in, while there was a hint of smoke in the room, the room was very clean. Any smoke gives me a headache almost immediately and this did not, so I was impressed by how clean it was despite the slight lingering smell.

The location is great. Right down the road from Hannaford's, the gas station and restaurant next door (Tom's Mini Mart) is extremely affordable and home style food. Machias is nearby if you prefer to walk or bike to town. At night the strip is completely quiet. I spent most of my time in Lubec, Cutler, and Jonesboro for hiking and backpacking. Machias is very central for all these locations.

In short: this hotel is clean, the rates are absolutely outstanding, the owners are friendly, and the location is great. My experiences have been excellent so I'll continue to go to this motel in the future.

Very, very impressed with my stay here. Rooms are quite large, access is simple both to the road and to the room. Beds are comfortable, price is excellent. Bathrooms a bit on the small side, yet hot water is instant. Having windows on two sides means you won’t need the cooling system, but each rooms contains a very efficient a/c and heating unit if needed.
Staff is extremely responsive. Had an issue with my room and it was taken care of immediately and with a smile.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Bluebird this past weekend and it definitely exceeded our expectations! The wi-fi was surprisingly great! (I was easily able to answer/sit in on zoom calls for work). In addition to our rooms being very clean, housekeeping was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring whatever we needed. And to top it off, we were conveniently located 3-5 minutes from the center of town and all it's amenities (restaurants, grocery stores, laundromats, state parks/beaches). Great budget stay with notably clean rooms and helpful staff. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay for your value. DirectTV, AMAZING water pressure in the shower, air conditioning, mini fridge, keurig coffee maker, comfortable beds.
Only stayed one night passing through but would definitely stay here again.

This was really nice stay. We stayed to other more expensive hotels and they weren’t as nice. The air conditioner was so quite and did such a good job at cooling the room. Really good price.
