GREAT pitstop. We’re from Cape Cod and have a great reference for what fried clams and a fish sandwich should look and taste like! Five stars!! Beautiful food. Fried clams, Haddock sandwich and a burger for our pup was around $40. Huge amount of clams and a nice big piece of fish on the sandwich.

Best lobster rolls and scallops in the area! My friends were visiting and we ate lobster at Helen's in Machias, Fisherman's Wharf (in Lubec) and River's Edge in Machias. River's Edge had the best lobster roll by far. It had lump lobster, not just little pieces and the bun was perfectly toasted.

Great roadside place for lunch or dinner and Giffords ice cream for dessert !
Or just go for ice cream . Open till 8. Food till 7.30
Fish sandwich not as good as it was . Skinner tail pieces gets overcooked/dry .Now they charge $1 each for lettuce & tomato! too

My favorite fried fish dish is not the same anymore. Breading changed ? Different cook? New tipping with one cup for help and other for cook? Get a life! Excellent river view, friendly efficient help, but food quality down this year.

Had fish & chips here & it was Awesome! I'm from Cape Breton & know fresh fish & this was It. Excellent grub & service as well...We'll done 👊👊

Got the haddock dinner basket. Definitely enough for 2 ppl was only $20. Fresh n delicious. Was a bit too greasy but hey its fried feeessh

Made our grandkids happy with a simple ice cream in a dish and a cherry 🍒 of course.

So far the food has been fresh and delicious… having a cook and server separate tip jar is lame. Thanks for the great food!

Great food, but a little pricey at times. Definitely worth a stop in, even if it's just for ice cream that time.

We stop here every time we visit the area for the good food and the view when eating outside. This time we had crab rolls and sweet potato fries, just great. Reasonable prices and good service, what's not to like?

We enjoyed this stop on the bank of the Machias River. Nice size portions for the money spent. We had the steak bomb sandwich, but, and buffalo chicken wrap. The best part was finding fried dough on the menu! Just like you got it at the fair!!! Picnic tables out back or you can park facing the river and enjoy the view. They also have ice cream which seemed to be a very popular choice.

Incredible portions for great prices- unbeatable for the quality. Great location and service. Worth the drive. The menu is impressive and the portions are generous enough to serve two, or at least to have leftovers for a second meal! The owners are fantastic as well. Nice river views and no bugs.

one of the best cones ive ever had. make sure you get a mini, accidentally ordering a small will get you a full 12 inches of ice cream

Local/Seasonal Take Out. There are some picnic tables to sit and watch the river. We love their onion rings & clam plates. Ok priced, but bigger servings than local restaurants. Wait can be long depending on time of day but you can call in order ahead of pick up. Only complaint: Too bad they don’t have homemade tartar sauce.

This place is a local delight. If you are traveling on route 1A through Maine, stop by for an ice cream or a quick snack. The place has a good scenic view of the river. Ice creams are delicious. Folks at this place are courteous and quick.

Great portions and great prices on the seafood. The milkshakes were a little pricey but very yummy. We’ll be back again.

Really good take out food, had scallop basket lunch size and there was plenty of food. Their ice cream is good too!
