Grand Rapids Public Library - West Leonard branch

This is my family's go to library. We absolutely love the inviting atmosphere and the children's area is a lot of fun. Staff is very friendly and always engages with my children.

My family and I LOVE this library! The children's area is so much fun with several different toys, computers and tons of kids books. My two kids just love it and the librarians are so kind and helpful. I apologized for my baby not having a "library voice" because she's at the squealing age and the librarians were so kind. My son always have loads of questions for them and they're always happy to answer and never seem bothered. What a great resource for local families!

Everytime I go to this branch, the staff is incredibly helpful and respectful. Most library staff across GRPL is good, however, the is something special about this branch. The staff are incredible front line workers that really deserve a hand!

I love the west Leonard library, the staff are so helpful and friendly. Books are easy to find for my new reader. The have fun activities for kids and ABC mouse on the computer s. The adult movie selection and books are great too.

I love our library. If they don't have a book on the shelf that want, they will get it for me.

I didn't realize the inside was closed, but the clerk was extremely helpful and patient. He made sure to pick a few awesome books for my daughter to read and sent us home with crafts and a mindfulness box that we really enjoyed! Thanks a ton!

My toddler loves the train and the librarians don't seem annoyed when she gets a little out of hand, which I appreciate. Decent audiobook selection, but I wish they cleaned each disc before sending back out. All in all, I thoroughly enjoy this library.

This library is one of the best additions to our West Side neighborhood in many years. The staff is helpful and the inventory is small but varied with many options to find just what you need.

First and foremost the layout is very easy to figure out. Second, the library staff are very helpful. Third, the childrens section being arranged by literacy level is very well appreciated by myself. My son has found a desire to start chapter books early... hes turning 5. Reading is something my family adores, and this library has made it a simple task to find a book for myself in the nonfiction, either by calling it in or finding it on a shelf... all within eye/earshot of the childrens section. I can let my son play and feel secure. The childrens section book aisles are somewhat a subtle maze, that my son finds discouraging to run through, which thank you to whomever decided on that layout, it is helpful. Lastly, the library is clean and the ink smell of books is the fresh kind. It is nice to know that the library and the grpl system cares about library maintenance. Thank you for being our library.❤

Staff greets you enthusiastically as soon as you cross the threshold! Everything is clean, neat, and organized.
