Thai food on the east side of town? Yeah.
Small place but sure to please your appetite.

This place has had many owners but the recent owner and cook are good friends of mine. Excellent food. The cook has been cooking for over 15 years and is a solid cook. Expect exceptional food and service.

Warning! This is real Thai food. Nothing fake here.

Highly recommend if you want to taste real Thai food. Don't be fooled by other places that advertise but cannot deliver the real deal. Expect nothing but the best.

Hint: use the food here as your bar to compare all Thai restaurants too. Michigan has some of the top Thai restaurant. I've had Thai food in CA, NY, OH, FL, WI, MN, but Mi has the best.

First time trying this place that's right in front of my subdivision. I love Amarin Thai on 12 and Hoover but I've had multiple people tell me this place is fantastic so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did. The service was fast and friendly. I got the standard Thai dish every American probably orders, the Chicken Pad Thai and I got an order of spring rolls. 1. The portion was large (pretty much 2 meals worth) 2. I was surprised you got soup too which was delicious. 3. The "medium spice" here has some heat to it in comparison to the place I'm used to but I was warned by my friend ahead of time. I like some heat so I enjoyed it. 4. The spring rolls were fantastic. I will definitely go back again.

First time going and its Delish!
Had Panang and spring roll and i loved that you get sooo much coconut curry sauce that they actually don't give enough rice to soak it all up. Was surprised also that you get soup with every dish as well. Carry out was packaged great in plastic dishes with lids (reusable)
Spring rolls we nice and thick and delish as well. Has several the next day and they heated great in the air fryer and tasted just as good.
I will be visiting again very soon.

The staff was wonderful. This is going to be my new place. I was going to get my food medium hot, but she told me to get mild plus, thank goodness.

My favorite Thai place was closed, so I decided to try Royal Thai Cafe. And honestly, I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.

I first got the Bangkok Chicken, hot. It comes with rice, soup, and a spring roll. What a great deal. The spice level was perfect. Not so hot I couldn't eat it, but left me wanting more water. It was very tasty, the chicken chunks were cooked perfectly and a good size.

I loved it so much I had to make sure it was consistent so I ordered again. Yesterday I got the orange chicken. Very good. Loved the sauce. Again, heat level was perfect at hot.

All around great food both times, and I will definitely be going back!

I work afternoons down the street only 2 minutes from here and have been coming the past few Fridays for dinner and everything I've ordered has been perfect. I'm usually not a hot and sour soup fan but I love theirs enough to drink it out of the cup. I even stopped by on a Saturday to buy extra food for my family to get them to try it as well since I think it's so good. The curry puffs are incredible as well. Will definitely be a habit to come back every week!

I’ve ordered from them a few times and what always stood out for me was their food was not only delicious, it’s a bit spicier than most other Thai places. I placed an order on Door Dash today. While ordering, I made a note that mentioned my last order had very little chicken in it and that I would be happy to pay for additional meat, unless that was just one time mistake. When I got my order today, some kind person wrote a sweet apology on my receipt and only charged me $1 for extra chicken. Thats going above and beyond. Since the pandemic, restaurants have suffered greatly so I didn’t expect to be charged so little. I’ve ordered salads from some places and asked for additional chicken and was charged almost as much as the salad itself, so $1 is as good as free in my book. Really, I just appreciated that acknowledged it and immediately did better this order. Thanks guys! Give em a try! I ordered the Pad Thai today, it’s amazing (I usually order an extra side of peanut sauce) and a chicken satay app. It’s enough to feed to two adults.

Amazing Pad Thai. A lot of reviews said the medium spice here was too hot so I got mild. I get medium everywhere else. The mild has no kick so I’ll be going for medium next time. Big portions, good prices. Even comes with soup. Nice people there. Will be coming back many times for my pad thai. Thank you for the great dinner. :)

We have a favorite Thai spot closer to home and thought we'd try somewhere new. Both of our dishes were excellent, great portion sizes (I got three meals out of one entree), and price is right.
The wait was around 30 mintues in the evening but not a deal breaker. Definitely will be back for our next. Thai craving.

Newer to the area and was happy to find this little Thai restaurant. Not the most appealing looking building, but the food was phenomenal. Ordered their Spicy Chicken. Great portion of food all for $10. The owner is the nicest lady and I hear from another customer she use to run a restaurant in downtown Detroit. Definitely try it!

I have eaten here twice so far. It has quickly become my second favorite Thai restaurant in the Metro Detroit area. I have had the shrimp Thai fried rice and the Tom yum soup. The portions are large but not too large. You'll have enough left for a small lunch the next day. The shrimp is well cooked and not rubbery which is something that I have found many restaurants get wrong. Definitely give this place a try!

Great carryout Thai food. Everything was fresh and tasty. Friendly service and Covid protocol followed. The order was correct and packaged carefully so nothing spilled on the way home. Bring cash for the best deal, there is a service fee to use a card.

I happened across this little treasure one day when I saw their sign for THAI FOOD. I've probably ate at all of the Thai Restaurants in the area and this is by far my favorite.

It is ran by a mother daughter team [I think] and the food is excellent. They have a dinner combo with one large entree plus two sides [like a spring roll or ginger salad] for about $12-$13 that could feed two people.

If you like Thai food you HAVE to try Royal Thai!
If you've never had Thai you will probably enjoy it, but be careful with the spice........ Thai food is one of the few truly hot foods.

Five stars all the way, I have never had a bad meal. Prices are very fair and the portion size is often enough for two meals.

The Owner is very friendly and remembers my order every time I call. Give this place a shot, I love it.

My wife and I wanted Thai for our stay at home date during this state shutdown so we placed our first order here.
The food was delicious. Everything was hot and fresh when we got it home. The service was great. Thank you for a very good experience during this crazy time.

The veggie fried rice is made fresh (no pre-mixed vegetables) and is absolutely delicious.
As others have stated, the customer service has done a complete 180 (no more getting yelled at for daring to call to order food from the business they own which coincidentally sells food!)
Great place with great food.

This is a cozy little hide-away shop in a small plaza that I love to visit.
It reminds me of the little diners that were so popular in the 60’s.
So quaint & great food. There are a couple of booths & counter seating for those that want to dine in.

Everything is made very fresh.I’ve never had better spring rolls! You can taste the difference.

Don’t forget to try the mango bubble tea! It is the my favorite non-guilty pleasure. It is not too sweet or heavy. But, just filling enough to dodge any evening cravings. Be sure to drink it slow & savor it.

Food was wonderful and large portions. The containers for the fried appetizers had holes in the top which kept them crispy. Appreciate the attention to detail. If you’re on the fence for spice level don’t get cocky, they ain’t playin!

Best Thai food in this area, for miles... many miles. Good quality food, great customer service and the prices are better than most places for the portion size. 5 stars
