One of the best cheap and quick inn’s in Minnesota. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very cosy. This is also the perfect place to stay if you’re a mountain biker. The munger trail is right in your backyard. This is truly the most affordable inn.

Very pleased with our 2 stays we've had here. Pet friendly, free zoo pass, they provide grills and firepits. Minutes from canal park and right on a nice walking trail. Great place!!

This was a great place to stay for a couple nights. The manager/owner was very nice and had stated they just remodeled our room and it was very nice. We stayed in the Full Bed room 211. It was perfect for us and we had plenty of room for the price. The only thing I will say needs updating is the bed. The mattress was older or just not very good quality. It sunk in the middle but it was not terrible. They gave us free passes for the Zoo in Duluth and free access to bikes on site to use on the trails. We would definitely stay here again if needed.

My new go-to spot in Duluth. Great location and very clean/cozy rooms. Right off the Willard Munger trail which is gorgeous (photo was ~5min walk from our door!)

If you’re into the outdoors, hard to beat. Plus it’s super close to all the cool breweries in the Lincoln Park district. Really a hidden gem with a great, friendly host! Better than staying in Canal Park or up the hill!

Incredible hole in the wall Inn right downtown. Jeff takes great care of this place and makes everyone feel like they are at home. Fire pits, free ice, free firewood, bikes for guests to take on trails, and a ZOO PASS included for every guest! Each pass is good for up to four people. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. Not only is it affordable, but it is exactly the type of atmosphere we needed for our hiking weekend.

I will be booking all my stays in Duluth at the Willard Munger Inn, from now on.

We lived in Duluth for many years and always loved the cozy aesthetic of the Willard Munger Inn. We were thrilled to finally be able to stay for a few nights while back in town for our wedding week :)
it was fantastic, dog friendly, and so cozy.

Having the Willard Munger Trail right behind the Inn was so convenient for walking our dog. He also LOVED having his own queen bed lol

We didn’t have time to utilize the free bikes but hopefully next time we can!

We would happily stay again!

What a delight! Cute clean rooms, with a deck out back and fire pits. Comfy mattress. Very dog friendly. The staff were kind. A pleasant surprise for the price.

As someone who travels a lot, this was by far one of my favorite stays. The room was wonderful, the staff were awesome, and the place itself was very easy to find. Add to it the bike loan and free zoo passes, and they knocked it iut of the park. 10/10 would recommend staying here to everyone.

We experienced a full day and night of heavy storms while we were tent camping on Lake Superior, and after enough was enough, we booked a pet-friendly room here to regroup, dry off, and warm up. The staff was so friendly and accommodating to our last-minute request, and we were even able to check in a bit early. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Our room didn't have a patio/balcony, but if we stay here again, we will book a room with that feature for sure. We are used to staying in Canal Park and at large chains, but there is something to be said about the charm of small, local places like this. This won't be our last time staying here!

Like others have said this is a hidden gem and not to be judged by it's plain appearance. It's clean comfortable and super quiet. It will now be our go to every time we are in Duluth. Jeff does everything to make sure your stay is enjoyable and a great conversationalist. Our second stay was just as good as our first if not better. Staied in a room on the back side of the motel it's like your private little oaisis. Will be back again.

As a single woman riding through the area this was the perfect place to stay. The staff was extremely friendly. It was safe and the people were kind. We were able to bring our dog. They were balconies off the back deck. You could take a walk on a trail. The trail lined right up with the back of the rooms. There’s a small area outback for campfires and setting. Each room had a deck. It was quite nice. Also according to the sign you get a free ticket to the zoo but we never cashed in on that because we only stayed one night.

Great little inn! The owner, Jeff, was very nice and accommodating during our stay. He has free bike rentals and gave us recommendations for where to go. The room was clean and quiet. Very enjoyable stay! We plan on coming back!

Comfortable stay and nice amenities

My wife and I stayed here in July 2021. We found the rooms to be clean and recently updated. The staff was friendly. My wife commented that she thought the sheets and towels were soft and clean. We found the mattresses to be comfortable to our tastes with no sagging.

I enjoyed the location with close access to walking and biking trails. Unexpected amenities included free bike rental and a free loaner pass to the nearby Lake Superior Zoo.

We also found the rates to be quite reasonable. We would recommend it to others and will definitely consider staying here again.

This place is amazing, cozy, accommodating, and just downright adorable! We were in dire straits of a place to live after moving from states away and they were more than helpful in our troubling times. The pricing is fantastic for how many things you get here, there is even a suite with a jacuzzi tub and that felt great! The fire pits in the back are fun and the secluded but open back patio views are beautiful! I highly recommend this to any weary travelers, backpackers, or camping lovers who want amenities available to them! Not to mention, staying there gets you a free VIP pass to the adorable Superior Zoo! Happy travels!

This is a hidden gem of a hotel! Beautiful rooms, very well appointed and charmingly decorated. Perfect location for everything Duluth has to offer yet away from the noise and bustle of the city. Steps away from great outdoor recreation...DO NOT judge this place from its humble exterior appearance!

My husband and I just stayed here a few times and have been impressed with our stay. The staff is great and our room is always amazing. We bring our 2 dobermans with us and they love it! We just stayed the 4th of July weekend and we were all sad when we had to leave!

Owners/ staff were very nice and sociable. Very considerate. Rooms were cute and spacious. Even had a futon and table and extra sink/ kitchen counter. Shower tiny but good water pressure. Right across from zoo and you get free passes to zoo. No breakfast due to covid but free bicycle rentals. We loved out stay.

Great place to stay if you have dogs. Every room has easy access to green space and it’s clear the owners are animal lovers themselves. Loved the cabin-y aesthetic and the family tradition behind the place. It sits right at the start of the Willard Munger trail and they offer free rentals on their bikes, which are top of the line. Would definitely stay again.
