Awesome place; friendly atmosphere...it’s a hidden gem and a place that is from a genuine by gone era when pubs were down to earth and not snooty.
If you’re looking for some fine grub, good conversation, friendly staff, and beer- like the real stuff, not some IPA micro brew- sorry if that’s your thing, it’s all good, but I just like a nice cold Miller High Life...and oh, it’s pretty cool to be on a canal surrounded by actual working marinas- so few of these locations are left as they are sold off to high end development and fancy restaurants.
Don’t let this lull you into thinking the food isn’t quality- it is!
They often have fantastic life music.
Summer might be their prime season but I’m just as happy being there in the off season.

This is the restaurant I’ve been looking for for years! Waterfront, causal, fun atmosphere, good food, outdoor seating, and nice servers. We celebrated my husband’s birthday on Saturday night. I can’t wait to go back.

Great "local" get away on the canal. Traditional Bar food. Awesome outside area with a beachy boat canal decor. The owner is great, hands on, and friendly. Live music inside and out. Much fun for All.

We stumbled upon this place after a day spent at Jones Beach. And it was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, we came a bit late for the live gig, which concluded around 8pm (I believe they start playing early in the day) but the part we caught was great. Beverages were inexpensive especially for Long Island standards and the food was really good. We took recommendation from the bartender on baked clams and pretzel and it was definitely a great choice (especially clams). In any case, I will definitely be back to chill for a weekend here again!

Great been going there for years! Richard the owner is a nice guy! Only thing that kinda stinks is everything is a little more $$$ from CV19! But that's okay they are on the water so taxes are a bit more higher! All the food is homemade! You can bring in your own beer if you want and they are also pet friendly and have live bands almost every weekend!

A gem of a bar on the water. Great scene in Amityville here. Something great about eating clams and having drinks on the water. Great spot, great people and aways a great time!

I met some friends for lunch before work on a Saturday around 1 p.m. We sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves and our food. The Bartender was efficient and friendly. It is a great place to grab a bite and catch up with friends. I can't wait to go back when the weather warms up steadily. They provide outside seating and entertainment. Looking forward to enjoying that. Maybe even working there.

Went to Toomey's this afternoon and sat at the outside bar (the boat). The atmosphere and view of the water is great! Theresa the bar tender was amazing and funny. The band "Two Guys with Guitars" played great music! As we were leaving, the owner bought us an ice cream from an ice cream truck parked in front. Such a nice experience! ❤ We look forward to coming back!

We come here often and everyone is great. Shout out to Anne who is always on her game, attentive and on point. Best of the best. If your lucky enough to have Anne as your waitress your time there will be that much more enjoyable.

Excellent food, drinks, and service. Their mozzarella sticks are fresh/homemade and probably the best I’ve ever had. Their bartender Patty is a sweetheart and the entire staff are very friendly. I park my boat at their dock and it’s always a fun time. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I travel for a living, due to the holiday I was stuck in Farmingdale for a extra day. I found Toomey's on google maps,checked out their reviews and photos. I knew that was the place I wanted to visit. I am so glad that I did. The bartender was very sweet, the local guys (patrons) were awesome. The minute I walked in they all knew I wasn't from around there. I guess my Texas accent gave me away. Lol. But what a great warm welcome I received from everyone there. I really enjoyed my visit. The view ,the fish tacos and atmosphere was beyond great. I plan to visit again when ever I'm on the Island.

Came here this past Saturday for a little birthday celebration with friends. Carolyn made this bigger reservation a breeze and Ann was an amazing waitress. They made sure they took care of us! Amazing food and even better atmosphere! The live band was amazing as well!!

Love it here! The food is good and it’s always a nice place during the summer. Natalie is amazing!! I’ve been here before and the servers were nice, however natalie went above and beyond. She was so kind to us and was so helpful! Will be back! Thank you Natalie!
