On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina - Hicksville

Customer Service was great. The food was 10/10 even down to the Mango Iced Tea(i think that's what i got). We got sat in our own little corner with nobody around us. We had a great experience celebrating my moms birthday. The picture is not the best but this platter of food for 1 person was more than enough and tasted great. 10/10 experience

A favorite Mexican chain for ages. House chips are hot and crispy, salsa with a faint spicy heat. Drinks are not watered down. Main courses around the table were well appreciated. Service got a little slow towards the end of the night but that’s understandable. One of the few dependable restaurants open after 9.

From start to finish it was super nice atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff, the food was quickly prepared despite being busy. The honey chipotle shrimp is definitely the highlight of my meal, crispy fresh shrimp with the spicy avocado dip was amazing. The Texas queso fries was evenly distributed with each piece filled with flavor. The 2 border style enchiladas was well seasoned and soft. Great place and an amazing find!

I used to go their at the old location before it got burned down. Went their today to celebrate the mothers day and not disappointed. Same food , same taste. And they added new items in their mouth watering menu. Appetizer sampler, And queso,, corn were outstanding. In main course I ordered fish tacos, and chicken fajitas, they are all good. Portions are huge.
I loved their margaritas. BARREL AGED RITA AND MANAGONADA was delicious . Service was good. Birria tacos are delicious
Only thing I didn't like, servers are eating food in the kitchen area. After eating food they are not cleaning hands and serving food to the patrons. Its big health issue and Management has to look this issue..

I have visited few different locations but this one was excellent. From food to fast service and a friendly waitress. We enjoyed our dinner, table was available very quickly (on a Friday night) which is very difficult.

Although we really like the place and the food, our last experience today wasn't the best. Service was not good, our waitress seemed too busy (although the place was not full), she seemed always in a rush and took time to respond to us.

ON THE BORDER
I love this place - We ate and different Mexican Restaurant but we love the Carne asada plate and the Fajitas //// we think so it’s the best in Long Island.
On The Border Restaurant is in a perfect location because you can shop in Broadway Mall, go to Ikea and after that get a delicious lunch or dinner and to finish your day you can go to the movie Theater. It’s that is not perfect location I don’t know what you need.... so and by the way The rice in this Restaurant from our opinion is DELICIOUS. Go to On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina and judge it from your own experience. Oh I forgot they give to you a Crispy nachos until you get your order dishes. Go and enjoy with your family. I attached the last receipt my Husband pay to get lunch for us. We are 4.
They have offers during of the week but we never go there in those days.

Update: I LOVE On The Border. The amount of food that you get for the amount you pay is amazing! Certain menu entrees(like the Build Your Own Combos) come with Endless Black or Refried Beans and Mexican Rice. The server probably brought 4 or 5 refills. I would say that the alcohol is predominately tequila(which I guess makes sense for a Mexican place) but there are a couple of non-tequila options. Based on the quality of food and the value, I definitely making On The Border one of my regular places

I went for the first time in several years because the time before the food was too spicy. They had said that it was the same that they serve in the kids meals, but I could not believe that. Now they have changed food again, this time for the better. It has a nice kick to it where I wouldn't suggest eating without a drink, but you don't need a whole drink for one bite anymore. My mom and I both get the Build Your Own Combo. For dessert, I get the Sopapillas. They don't look the same as they used to but are just as good. I don't find that they need the dipping sauces and it takes away from the flavor, not adds to it.

Bottomless Great chips and salsa gratis with your meal. Party of six and our orders were prepared correctly the first time around. Beverages were unlimited and we all enjoyed the visit.

Went for drinks with friends. Wide variety of drinks and frozen drinks. They are very flexible with customizing the drinks to your liking. I had the frozen sangria swirl, very delicious. Staff was awesome. The place was clean and the table was not sticky. We enjoyed our drinks and the tortilla chips kept on coming. Happy hour is the way to go if you’re on a budget. Highly recommend this place for after work drinks or just hanging out with family and friends.

Food was delicious. Our server Jorge was excellent. A solid place for a great meal.

Food was very good, especially rhe frozen margaritas and nachos. Many options to choose from. Food came out quickly, so quick that our entrees came out before out appetizers. (A little annoying but it was good and kids wanted it.) Was seated right away on a Friday evening.

Food was veeeery good; service excellent 👌🏻 prices are good. Fajitas is a must
