The Green Growler

I went there 4 times already and I must say that for a recent new comer to the US, this place is a hidden gem. Great craft beer selection and Evan (the owner) is a pretty awesome dude. I am a punk rock sound mixer and filmmaker from Lisbon, Portugal that has been touring the world since 1996 and I really thought that now living in corky expensive Westchester that it would be rare to feel and get in touch with “real scrappy people”, I guess I was wrong so thank you Growlers for having me, much appreciated. Last Tuesday was night jam sessions hosted by Paul Francis which is indeed an awesome fellow. Great jam ladies and gentlemen.

Whilst moving up to the area, this was the first place with super welcoming energy that made us feel that we were making the right decision. Every person that works here is wonderful and helpful. The owner is a local who cares a lot about music and good beer. The Green Growler is one of the best businesses in this and the surrounding towns. We’ve been here at least two dozen times and will be back again soon.

Chris is the best! Wonderful Place for a quick bite and good vibes! Love the sofas/overall vibe, the service, and truly we make this a go to spot whenever we are in the area, especially in the fall.

Discovered this gem through yelp. Such a nice staff. Very homie and down to earth. Loved the hipster vibes and the fact that you can build your own beer pack to go!

The bites were extremely reasonable and cheap! I mean $3 pretzel and $2 pizza? $5 happy hour! This place is where it’s at! Definitely a place for small bites and pub style food. If covid wasn’t around it would def be a spot I’d normally go to to hang with friends and grab a few beers.

Love the artsy vibes and the sticker wall as well as the fact that the staff will recommend what’s poppin and some of the staff faves.

I was excited to try one of their sours. As soon as I ordered they let me know they ran out. They totally made my night. Not only did they comp the beer and let me have the last sips on the house but they also offered me a replacement. They happened to be carrying my favorite beer brewers from Hudson Valley Bewery. This sour was an even better option and I got to have the best of both worlds. Such a nice experience. Very few people and you can definitely just come here to order a few beers to go and some quick bites.

My favorite local bar! Great location, steps from the croton train station. Excellent service! Bartenders are incredibly nice and very knowledgeable. Buffalo chicken flatbread is amazing when I’m really hungry and they also have little to-go charcuterie plates for snacking. They always try to support local breweries and often collaborate with other local businesses with events like charcuterie making or sip n paint classes. They also have babies n beer with a musician for the kids! Recently, they hosted a 2000s dance party which was a blast. Love this place

Awesome beer spot with some snacks. Amazing Bartenders! Whoever was there on 11/3 was just super awesome ! Great place for live music as well!

I find myself going there almost every Wednesday for trivia have a great time the drinks are great but I do miss the times when I used to get my supplies there for Brewing

They have a nice rotation of craft beers on tap, some which are amazing! There is also a huge selection in cans and bottles. They have s canning machine so you can get what’s on draft yo go. You can also fill your growler.

Really great kinda grungy vibe, with video games and board games upstairs. Great bands on select nights, and intimate vibe. Highly recommend.

The bartender here was super friendly. I love their huge selection of cans and also decent selection of drafts. The sandwich was actually really good. There were bands playing outside and it was an overall great time.

My favorite beer bar. ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES! The Green Growler is truly Croton’s village pub. A cozy space with lots of seating, including an upstairs area with patio views of the Hudson. Always a diverse tap selection, with something for the least adventurous beer drinker to the snobbiest hipster. Curated bottle and can shop, not as overwhelming or dusty as Deciccos. Friendly staff and personal service with community roots.

I’ve been proud to watch the Growler grow from a humble homebrew shop to the current expansion into a full-fledged pub. The owner Seana is a local who cares about the community. She’s carefully made the Green Growler a welcoming place where you can discover and drink great beer, but also hang out with friends. No overbearing music. Kid and dog friendly! Parking!

Good beer,good service,barmen is the best

First time visiting the Green Growler. Went to watch a friend’s band play. Bar is limited to beer and wine - which was fine for me and my wife. It seemed that all the beers were from small local or semi local breweries … again fine by us. Place was clean and music was great. I’m talking to other patrons that said the bar holds book signings, as well as all types of music. Wish I lived closer to patronize more frequently.

This place is a great place to unwind from a day they have a very good selection of ipa and other beers I would recommend this place to others the staff is very nice as well I'll be coming back

Fabulous service, great selection of beer, and great food!

This place is a gem and I wish there were more like it in the area! Just outside the Croton train station, in a fairly unassuming building (you could almost call it a house), sits this incredible craft beer bar.
Lots of indoor seating and tables including a set of couches. Fridges line the walls with nothing but local craft beer in all the top styles. Past the fridges…is the bar!
Dog friendly in all the right ways, pups can sit right on your lap at the bar (and May even get a treat if they’re good! 😉)
A killer tap list that rotates super frequently and knowledgeable staff to find you something you’ll love drinking.
On top of that they support local artist works, which decorate the walls and host events like concerts and stuff. If you’re into beer at all, you must stop here! 🍻

Wow, this beer shop/bar is a gem here in Croton right next to the train station. If you are serious about craft beer you are not going to be disappointed in here, there are beers you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else out in these parts.
