Davis Studio

I realize every family may have a vastly different experience. That said, we have been patrons of Davis Studio in some capacity for nearly 8 years. Our kiddo has been a student for almost that entire time. They absolutely love school. They are given the tools and space to be their brightest, most creative selves and I truly appreciate all the staff here has done over the years to help our kiddo in the many facets of their development.

My daughter (11) loves to make art and Davis Studio has been a great community support for this. She has attended a variety of art camps at Davis and I’m always impressed both with how much she enjoys them and the technical skills she learns. It’s truly helping her to grow as an artist, and enjoy her summers as a kid in Burlington.

We value what is learned at Davis center art classes! Our Son loves it there! Thank you so very much!!!!!

A hidden gem: Davis Community School. For those seeking a small, intimate school setting, their school is phenomenal. Our 9yo boy is truly happy here, and we value the community, academics and creative, holistic, project-based learning approach.

My son has participated in the wonderful Art and Education programs at the Davis Studio for the past 5 years. I can't say enough about how these experiences have helped him refine his art and feel like he belongs to a community of artists. He is a confident, empowered and skilled artist due to the excellent instruction and opportunities provided to him through the Davis Studio. The Davis Studio and the people that teach/work there are truly a gift to the Greater Burlington community!

Both of my children have taken summer camps at Davis Studio, and they have also done the school year long Creative Path program. They have absolutely loved all their instructors and created amazing art! They've learned so many different techniques that they now give me lessons here at home. Highly recommend.

Our fourth grade son loves going to school every day at Davis Community School. He is always happy to go and to be part of an intimate, nurturing and engaged learning environment. He's become increasingly confident in his ability to pursue his own curiosity and dive deeply into his learning, then share his new knowledge with his classmates and teacher(s). The encouragement he feels to develop his unique interests as well as his independence as a learner has allowed him to grow in all ways, academically as well as personally. As a family, we appreciate how responsive the teachers and administrators are to parent and student ideas and concerns, and how well they communicate about our child's experience. Davis Community School is a very creative, caring and safe community in which children thrive.

My daughter absolutely loved her week of Cartoon Drawing camp! This was our first experience with Davis Studios camp, and I'm sure it won't be our last! We so appreciated the professionalism of the staff and the wide range of activities they provided during the week. I was amazed to see everything she came home with at the end of the week. Thank you for providing such a great experience!

Our son took the cartoon drawing camp for one week and enjoyed it. High quality camp! Came home with a great portfolio. My son is very picky with camps and has not finished some of the camps he has attended. He woke up every morning willing to go which in our family is a big deal! Would recommend to any kid that likes to doodle.

My kids have attended numerous summer and vacation camps and after school programs at Davis Studio in the past few years, and we have always had a positive experience. We like the range of topics, room for individual creativity, and the fun and caring teachers.

I was surprised at how much my 8 year old son loved cartoon drawing camp! He is not what I would call an artsy kid...he's more into high energy activities and sports, but he absolutely loved writing and drawing his own story, imagining the mischievous plot line, and creating characters with silly names. I was blown away by the work he came home with on Friday! He liked the outdoor fun too and said they hiked to the baseball fields a few times during the week. The teachers were awesome and so communicative in giving me and my husband feedback during the week and on the final pickup day. I would recommend this camp without reservation -- we'll likely be signing up again next summer!

Davis Community provides a wonderful academic, social, and creative home for my fourth-grade daughter. At DCS, my daughter receives enrichment opportunities that play to her academic and social gifts, as well as targeted support for areas in which she experiences challenges. I am always impressed with the school’s ability to provide a solid and consistent foundation for learning while deftly pivoting toward opportunities and challenges as they present themselves. It’s rare to find a school that makes space for self-directed creativity and traditional teaching methods, project-based learning and skills mastery, self-expression and community-mindedness, practice and play; Davis Community not only creates this dynamic space for its students but also takes on this challenge willingly and with enthusiasm. My son took Model Treehouse Design and Build last week. He was nervous to start, not knowing anyone there, but LOVED this camp. The teachers were kind and supportive, while setting clear boundaries. The kids in the class were funny and creative. He ended the week sad that wasn't going back the next day, but VERY proud of the treehouse he built, and the friendships he made. I recommend this camp.

Davis Studio is such a treasure in the community. We've had so many varied and rich experiences from amazing summer camps to inventive birthday parties to dining in the Starving Artist Cafe (RIP). Teresa has been a tremendous resource in terms of understanding and empathizing with non traditional learners and Lyndsy Blais as the director of the school comes from a truly child-centered background.

I am loving the Painting the Natural World adult class at the Davis Studio! Kat is an amazing instructor and I love communicating in person with others interested in learning and sharing lots of different techniques and styles. Highly recommend!

I recently took a portrait painting class at Davis studio and enjoyed it very much. We learned a lot of technique and color theory, and our teacher Mallory struck the perfect balance between suggestions/help and letting us figure out on our own how we were going to achieve our vision. I'm looking forward to my next class!

Summer camps are well done (communication, drop off/pickup, themes). With instruction and art projects in line with the weekly theme they intersperse plenty of outdoor play. Glad to have this resource in our town!

I was so impressed with the amazing art work my 8 and 10 year olds brought home from the Cartoon Drawing and Portrait and Faces camps. The staff was sweet, supportive, and encouraging. We'll definitely sign up again!

This was my 7yo son's favorite summer camp this year and he was so proud showing off all his artwork at the end of the week. He loved being able to create his own comic book stories and all the games they played during the week.
