Chabaar Beyond Thai

Delicious food with an old school atmosphere feel. Had the Chicken Pad Thai and Pork Pad See Ew.

Both dishes are full of flavor and nicely balanced. The chicken and pork were tender and not over cooked.

Thai Iced Tea is also very good.

Drove by this restaurant randomly one day and decided to try it for lunch 2 days later. Zero regrets. Ample parking and the dining area was large. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere which I love.

The fresh spring rolls were thin, but there were 6 pieces (3 cut into halves). I love how proportional each bite was. Not too much or too little of any ingredient. Loved how there's a mint leaf in every single half piece. Peanut sauce was a bit on the sweet side, as I'd some sweet chili was added into the sauce. It gave a nice Thai kick to it.

Beef pho was generous. There were over 12 large pieces of beef, and tons of bean sprouts were provided. Lots of broth leftover and the noodles didn't soak it all up, making the end of the meal very enjoyable. The broth was also very flavorful on its own, no hoisin or sirarcha needed. The pho was very good, even better than pho restaurants that specialize in pho. There was so much food, I literally ate for two!

The waiter and waitress were very polite and kind. They packed up my leftover spring rolls nicely. I would 100% return and want to try everything on their menu!

The sampler platter of starters smelled so good that I forgot to take a picture before we ate some. I was not a fan of the fried tofu, but that is a texture preference on my part. It was cooked correctly, and everyone else liked it. The sampler platter and 4 accompanying sauces were a perfect start to our meal.

I had the Massaman Curry with pork (level 0). It was a wonderful blend of vegetables, pork, and creamy sauce. Perfect with the sticky rice. This is my new favorite place for Massaman Curry!!

The server was very knowledgeable, and gave us great advice as we asked questions and ordered our food. Very friendly staff all around.

My two favorite Thai places closed down. A few friends (3 separate) suggested this place to me. I was pleased that beer, wine, and a wide range of teas are all available as beverage options, many Thai places I've found do not offer this wide variety of beverages. The food did not disappoint. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The service was short-handed so slow, but they managed it very well and were courteous and pleasant. While it took a long time to order, we received the food quickly. The atmosphere was clean and nice, very casual and informal. I would absolutely go back.

Was looking for exceptional Thai restaurant and we weren’t disappointed! Tons of favor. Spicy and delicious! We had three different entrees and the fresh spring rolls. So good. Wished we lived here so we enjoyed often. Will definitely return when passing through Salt Lake City!

I come the Utah once a year to ski, and eat at Chabaar!!! Had almost all the soups & they’re all amazing. Curry is to die for but be warned…. ask for zero if you don’t like it spicy. Never had a bad meal, and the same server is always there, Dennis and he’s the best. Don’t miss out on some of the best Thai dishes you’ll every eat.

I've eaten here a few times now, and I am absolutely in love with this fine, family owned establishment. Their phó is wonderful, their curry is to die for, and now, eating their hot n sour soup (picture), oh my gosh! This is the best version of this soup I've ever had! (And I've had a lot of hot n sour). The service is always amazing and friendly. This will be one of my regular spots forever. ❤

My go to Thai order is Yellow Curry, and Chabaar did not disappoint! It was delicious. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty. We also had Pad Thai, Pho, Massaman, and Garden Stir Fry. The server was kind too and we had a good experience. I would definitely go back!

I’ve been in Utah for a month and a half. I’m always seeking out new places to try. This place is top of my list! I got the pumpkin curry pot pie… words can’t describe how delicious this is. Sweet, savory, spicy, and fills the belly better than any Thai food I’ve had before!!
Well done! I can’t wait to come back for more!

The food here is always on point. I could eat their curry puffs everyday! Massaman curry *add broccoli* is my go-to dish.

Edit. Again... The food was amazing tonight and the service was just as good. I got the pad thai (vegan with tofu, no egg. Add broccoli and zucchini, extra tofu!) Just saying that the food and service is always consistent, and the consistency is always spectacular!

The Tom Kah Gai and Cashew Chicken Stir Fry were amazing! Service was excellent and the food came out fresh and hot. Portions were large so we have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow! 10/10 highly recommend

I wanted a vegan gluten free Tom Yum soup. I tried this place. It was very good. They also have a tea menu with various choices!

This is a perfect example of don’t judge a book by its cover. From the outside this place isn’t much, simple decor on the inside as well but the food is what it’s all about and we were not let down!

We started with the chicken satay and the cucumber/onion salad was unified and delicious. Moving on to pad Thai, green curry, chicken fried rice and larb, we filled our bellies and enjoyed every last bite.

Would definitely recommend!

Sweetest lady was our server and the vibes in this place are incredible! Got green curry with chicken at spice level two. It was pretty freaking hot so if you don't like spice get below a 2. Bomb food awesome location especially when the sun is setting. Goodest of good vibes!

Chabaar is one of my very favorite restaurants in the valley! Great service, lovely owner, and always wonderful food, whether Thai, or her scrumptious French toast!
Next time you're in, try the Kow Soi! Delicious, fresh, and a more vibrant flavor profile than you may be used to!

We came in on a pretty busy Labor day and I dont think there were too many employees working. But don't let that info deter you! The service was excellent and our server was so friendly, polite and had such a welcoming smile. The food was great, and the decor is very neat. To sum it up, great service, delicious food at a good price, and a neat atmosphere.

Best curry I’ve ever had. They also offer legit Thai spice if you want it. We will definitely be coming here often.
