This review will cover a few areas of this hospital. It had come to our realization that our son was going to need a hernia repair as well as have a mass removed. Our first stop was to Urology. The office staff there were phenomenal. Dr. Cartwright is excellent and I have left him a separate review. Our experience getting our son's blood drawn and an x-ray were top notch as well. Everyone who dealt with us was kind and patient. Upon surgery day a few days ago, we arrived on time for our appointment and were promptly taken back. We met nurses and OR team who were all wonderfully warm and welcoming. All were quick to answer questions and reassure us on an unsure day. We then met with the anesthesiologist, Dr. Harnden who was very thorough in his explanation of everything and very understanding of our anxiety/worry. We appreciate all the individuals who were involved in our son's procedure that day and will forever feel a debt of gratitude to the amazing team at Primary Children's Hospital.

My daughter came in with a persistent fever and had to stay overnight . They went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable while treating her and doing labs. They didn’t discharge us until they ruled out all the bad stuff and found out what’s going on.
The doctors and the staff were wonderful. I wish I remembered everyones name, especially the main night dr, and nurses in charge to thank them by name . I was extremely stressed out ,and they listened to all my concerns, calmed me down, and were wonderful with my daughter.
Thank you all

We couldn't have asked for a better ER visit! They helped my 2 year old daughter feel comfortable. They had toys to help keep her busy, and all the doctors, specialists, and nurses kept us updated and comfortable. We're so glad we got such amazing service! 10/10!

We spent 6 days in Primary Children’s Hospital with our youngest. It’s a great hospital with professional staff. The doctors from various teams were great to work with. They provided clear and timely updates on progress and treatment. They were kind and empathetic. The nursing staff was careful and attentive helping our child as well as us, as parents, to feel comfortable.

Meal options in the cafeteria are good considering it’s a cafeteria. The prices are inexpensive as well.

The facility itself is clean and well maintained. There are a few Ronald McDonald family areas which we found extremely helpful to take a shower, do laundry, grab a snack, and take a break from the hospital room.

You never want to have to be in a hospital with your child, but if it happens this is a place I feel confident in being for the best care.

I’m so thankful that this hospital is the closest one to my home town. if it weren’t for them, i wouldn’t have my son today. The nurses that have worked with my baby have relieved so much stress off my plate. the workers here have checked on me multiple times and made sure i was doing okay physically and mentally. the surgeon that did my sons surgery did fantastic and i’m so thankful for him. i feel that they really take care of the children and the parents during extremely hard situations.

Primary children’s hospital is Amazing! Everyone we came in contact with in the Er was amazing and took great care of our son even though he wasn’t feeling the greatest. Then when we were admitted to the hospital we had Abbey as our nurse and she did everything she could to make sure our son understand he wasn’t in the hospital for something he did or caused and was always willing to find him something to do during his stay and answer any questions he had she was amazing and any kid that gets her as their nurse is lucky! Then there was Mary Kate (MK) she was also amazing and took suck good care of our sun during the night and tried to make sure she wasn’t interrupting his sleep unless she had to we loved having her as part of our team as well. Then the last day of our stay we had nurse Justin that understood we couldn’t wait to be able to be out of the hospital and be home and was very thorough and made sure we had everything we needed before we were discharged and all out training/education was completed and made the transition into going home smooth. I know I am missing quite a bit of the team we worked with as I couldn’t remember all of their names but the team we worked with this weekend was fabulous and defiantly doesn’t get enough appreciation for all their hard work they do day over day to keep our kids healthy and thriving while in a hospital so again I want to say thank you so much!

This hospital has been our home away from home for the last 16 years! I am so grateful for the knowledge of caregivers and the technology it is equipped with! It is so important and needed for my daughter’s care. We have been treated so great by all of the staff, multiple physicians and the dental clinic as well! Beat Hospital in Utah hands down!

Great service and hospitality. It was a very uncertain time for us with our daughter. Her health was critical and everyone was really attentive and compassionate. There are three cafes to chose to eat in. There's the Ronald McDonald House which provide free meals and other amenities which help take the load off like washer dryers and areas for privacy. They have a room called school zone that kids can go pick out a free book and there's a lot to chose from. They have a music room that's very therapeutic. There's also a science room with lots of fun activities. Alot goes into the service provided. And of course they have therapy dogs that are extremely helpful and cheered our daughter right up.

To anyone and everyone that is part of this medical facility thank you for showing up and showing out for the children and families that arrive here seeking help. Finding support and a safe environment for healing is what Primary Children is all about. May God bless you all thru the ups and downs, the trials and errors, the successes and triumphs and in the moments of stress and doubts. Safe Havens and safe spaces seem to be far in between sometimes but to be surrounded by compassion, joy, mission and professionalism is a gift worth experiencing.

My son has to get an MRI every 2 yrs and this was our second time and I was VERY impressed with the staff and anesthesiologist! Everyone came and interacted with my son Who we’re going to be involved in his scan. Picked out his gas flavor, toys, cop car ride to the sedating room, his teddy got a bracelet like him, just everything was an amazing experience! It was nice to see this esp with children because there is such serious ppl out there with their jobs. Everyone was amazing!!! I was a mama mess and my son never was nervous or scared (he’s 4.5yrs old) and Dr. Tanner was seriously amazing and sweet!! Thank you everyone who was involved yesterday with Anthony Hernandez❤

I have been extremely grateful for the staff at primary children’s. I’ve had to come to the ER in the middle of the night 3 times this month between my kids, and I’ve been so thankful for everyone there.

Our son was in the NICU for four days before he passed away. My husband and I did not leave the hospital during those four days. I was so impressed by how accommodating everyone was, how smoothly everyone worked together, the professionalism, the kindness, and how every little thing we’d needed was taken care of. This is a great place, and the atmosphere is something special, especially considering how dark things could get while navigating difficult illnesses and trauma. We are very grateful to Primary’s.

Our sweet baby boy Milo was in the NICU at Primary Children's for 3 weeks with the most incredible team of nurses and doctors. He ended up passing away after 19 beautiful days, but my husband and I are so grateful for everyone who cared for him and for us. They really loved our son, and it showed in everything they did. They always put his comfort and quality of life first and truly tried everything they could to keep him here with us. They empowered us to make decisions about our son's care and involved us every step of the way. They were kind. They were caring. And they were incredibly skilled. We love our team here and are forever grateful for the selfless work they do every single day.

Experience was PHENOMENAL. We live in Idaho and the care we had been receiving for our little girl back home wasn’t cutting it to the standard of care I wished to receive for her. I fought and got a few referrals to Primary Childrens and have had amazing luck. We started with an appt to see the ENT and Dr. Park was able to help us figure out that a surgical procedure would be best for our daughter and that her needs were not being met by her previous doctors. She got a surgery scheduled as soon as possible on his schedule, and a few weeks later we took the trip down. We started in same day surgery, and moved to the PICU, we had a great experience with our nurse in the PICU, and after our daughter was doing well we moved up to the third floor and our stay there was just as great throughout the night. They were super amazing about waiting to come in and give her anything until we asked and she was awake and she got the best nights sleep. All the nurses and aides on that floor that we had were amazing and extremely friendly. I felt very comfortable asking for any help or pain relief for our daughter and we appreciated that they stepped back and only came in when we asked or when her vital machine was getting funky readings. I felt heard as her parent, and the person who knows her best. I definitely would continue driving to SLC for that standard of care.
