Green Spring Gardens is a very pretty and calm place to walk around and enjoy the beauty of nature. We visited in the middle of October to catch the last blooms. I was also very surprised to see many fruit trees like persimmon, cherry, figs and dates. There are also mini gardens where young kids can plant something and learn about gardening. The Gardens are used for photography sessions as well as events. The historic house from the 1800s had displays with a brief history in pictures, but was not too impressive.

As a portrait photographer based in Ashburn, it's always a treat to have photoshoots here with my families and maternity clients! Its beautiful scenery and diverse landscapes offer a great selection of backdrops for portraits. The grounds are always well kept, and best part is that it's open from sunrise to sunset, allowing for the perfect lighting for my client's photos!

I'm an Alexandria based wedding photographer and have captured a surprise proposal and an elopement at Green Spring! The garden is lovely! The proposal pictures were taken in April at sunset, while the elopement was in the middle of the day in June. No matter the time or season, Green Springs has gorgeous options for portraits.
The garden is a bit big and has a large hill, so I don't recommend it if you have some difficulty walking.

It is a beautiful place. It is not huge so you can take it easy and walk and talk, take some nice pictures and just relax. My wife loved it!

Green Spring is one of the most beloved parks in Fairfax. The landscaping is extraordinarily gorgeous and the blooming plants are spectacularly beautiful. The well preserved historic house reflects the progress of Fairfax over the centuries. It is surely one of the best places to visit in spring time.

You won't find a more stunning setting for engagement or couples portraits anywhere in the DMV. And certainly not one so close to downtown DC! Though compact, Green Spring Gardens offers a wildly diverse range of settings for photos. On the "upper" level just inside the entrance are a variety of flowering plants, trees and bushes that make gorgeous backdrops for pictures. There is also a very cool sculpture that your photographers can use to create more innovative portraits for you. Down the hill is arguably the real centerpiece of Green Spring Gardens, though. There you'll find a lovely pond with a charming gazebo that is one of the most romantic spots for engagement portraits imaginable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a photoshoot location with lots of natural beauty!

Pictures do not do any justice to the beauty of this little park, you better visit yourself to feel the serenity and beautiful landscapes. It’s a nice place for strolling around with kids or just to spend some peaceful time in nature. It’s not a big park that your legs get tired. Pretty decent doable walk all around.

Beautiful grounds! Great for a walk with the kids. Lots of wildlife near the ponds for them to enjoy. Lots of different trails to explore. I was able to use a stroller for a good portion of it, but be aware several trails through the woods are not well enough paved for that.

Beautiful hidden gem right in our backyard. Admission is free and it's a beautiful place to just wander about with the delicious smell of flowers wafting through the air. They are plentiful as are the grand trees. There is also a small botanical library and a lovely gift shop. The beautiful whitewashed gazebo, charming pond, and overall picturesque setting is ideal for weddings.

The Gardens is beautiful, it is not that big but very nice to walk, sit and enjoy the scenery. I really enjoy sitting around the pond. Hearing the sound of the water, wildlife buzzing and singing birds. Honestly the Gardens reminds me of one of my favorite childhood movies ("LEGENDS", the movie with Tom Cruise and one of the unicorns die and Tom has to help making the world right again.) I can't wait to come back during winter if we get snow again and take some more pics. Please visit the Green Spring Gardens, I promise it is enjoyable.

This is a great park located just off of columbia pike and little river turnpike. It has a nice visitors center - with bathroom! And greenhouse - two ponds, and nice walking path through the woods. There are also lots of benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the park if you want to take a break, watch the scenery, or enjoy a snack. Highly recommend!

What a hidden gem! This park has so much to offer: various gardens, exotic plants in green house, beautiful landscape, streams, pond and a visitor center that houses a library, a gallery, souvenirs shop and art room. We have been back many times throughout the year and it never ceased to amaze us. Kids family and pet friendly. Photographers dream.

Beautiful Park with two ponds where you can see fish, turtles and ducks and Lotus plants. There are many seats where you can rest and also a gazebo. The upper part of the park has an 18th century house that exhibits artwork. It is surrounded by many beautiful gardens. There is a Horticulture Center where you can buy plants and pots and books.

Beautiful gardens with a spacious courtyard and a short 1/2 mile trail crossing a creek to a pond with 2 fountains and a gazebo. The entire garden and pond is a mile. During blooming season, the flowers are beautiful and colorful. There's an old mansion on the grounds, plenty of parking with s parking donation box located in the parking lot, a visitor center, a garden center, and they even offer summer camp and classes. This garden is a great place to have a picnic and to walk your dogs. Super dog friendly and there are trash cans located throughout the garden where you can dispose your trash and doggy poop bags. The main entrance to this park off/on Little River turnpike is blocked/locked. To get into the park entrance, from Little River turnpike heading east turn left on Braddock road and turn right on Witch Hazel Road.

Wonderful, beautiful, peaceful. Lovely foliage, trees, lawns, ponds, fish, and turtles. My new go-to for some solitude. And there’s a horticultural library on site.

Green Spring Gardens is a lovely place to walk the mostly asphalt paths and enjoy the demonstration gardens. This time we were there for the Virginia Native Plant Society's plant sale. The sales are the first Wednesday of every month, April - October, 10 am - 1 pm, and are open to all.
