We went to happy hour time, didn't have to wait, excellent service very friendly employees. Always someone comes around to check on you, take away your empty dish on your table, refill your drinks, or if you need anything else. Exceptional food thumb 👍 👌 😋 .

Damien took good care of us, gave good recommendations for food and drink, the specials were incredible! Sushi was great, had an assortment of different rolls and each was yummyyy, For two different rolls, the sashimi dinner, appetizer, and alcohol it came in just under $150. Very pleased!

Awesome Japanese restaurant in Keauhou. Worth the drive. Despite a 40 minute drive from the hotel we were staying up in Waikoala…it was WELL WORTH IT, and would absolutely go again! One of the better Japanese restaurants I have dined at anywhere, with good variety of menu and quality of fish. Good ingredients, executed well.

Maverick was our server, he was friendly and efficient. It was quite busy when we came in around 6:45, most of the tables inside and on the patio were occupied.

We quickly received water, and ordered our drinks, which came quickly. We ordered the Kenichi 45 (very sharp with the yuzu) and the Geisha martini (very good).

For food - we absolutely overdid it, and quite happy we did: miso soup, clam and regular (wonderful broth, flavorful and deep); Spider roll - with soft shell crab (yummy, wish we ordered more); world famous dynamite shrimp (very tasty, not over battered); manupua duck (basically a Peking-duck inspired appetizer, duck was a tad dry but still good); daily catch (Mahi served on top of creamy mashed potatoes - exceptionally fresh fish)
A ton of sashimi:
- bluefin toro (actually O-Toro - very fresh and buttery - generous slices)
- Yellowtail - served in ponzu, again wonderful
- Salmon - very fresh, fatty, generous
- Uni (sea urchin) - very sweet, fresh
- Unagi (eel) - again, fresh, cooked perfectly

Dessert was the tempura fried ice cream. We needed to be rolled out of the restaurant!

Went for a dinner, service was the best! Food was great, drinks were just right. We got some of the chef's specials for the day with blue fin tuna roll and Mahi Mahi entree, both were good. Try their salmon! It's hard to pick one favorite dish, everything were good.

Happy hour starts at 430. Be there a few minutes early to get your table....it fills up fast. We enjoyed a variety of delicious sushi and fried ice cream for dessert. Our waiter was excellent, and never rushed us. He brought us a beautiful surprise at the end of our meal...their fried ice cream with a hand written chocolate Happy Anniversary.

If you just order the sushi rolls then your missing out. Each dish was delicious, fresh and unique. Ensure to order one of the pasta. My partner and I are big foodie people and we are sad that we missed out on dessert. So hoping to come back again all the way from Australia. Thankyou again.

First, our waiter provided excellent service from our first contact as we sat down to our departure. The waiter knew all aspects of the menu from food to drinks. A just pleasant fellow. Service was attentive and food served very timely. Then the food, excellent sushi standards and some creative, delicious items, all fresh, tasty, well seasoned and presented. A clean and inviting dining room with a homey feel.

Delicious and filling dinner made with super fresh and local (where possible) ingredients. We loved everything we ordered, especially the macnut crusted lamb. The Kauaʻi shrimp in the sizzling seafood trio was the most flavorful shrimp I’ve ever had. Comfortable and clean ambience with kind service too.

We visited our daughter on the big island and wanted to take her to a nice dinner since we wouldn’t be together for the holidays. She suggested Kenichi Pacific and we were not disappointed. The sushi was the best we have had in a very long time and the staff was absolutely amazing. Maverick was a very attentive waiter and had great insight for the menu and the specials. When we return for another visit we will 100% make Kenichi a must for a special meal. Don’t miss out on the fresh grated Japanese wasabi as an add on as it is a game changer and will ruin you for the stuff normally on a sushi plate. Thank you to the staff both front and back of house for a great experience.

Good taste and nice service! The amount per dish is not a lot compared to the price but overall acceptable.

Best happy hour EVER! Excellent sushi! Fun roll combinations. Everything was truly fabulous. LOVED the miso cod, it’s a must eat imo! Friendly staff! Left my CC on accident so had to go two nights in a row… did not disappoint! If you go to happy hour, get there early it fills up fast! Third Friday of the month there’s a Hula show in the plaza next to the restaurant so you can even get free entertainment if you plan it right!

Fresh, fast and yummy! We had the best take out, Asian BBQ are so 'ono - it's all about the sauce. Chirashi and tempura took the cake for me! Great spot for dining and take out.

An absolutely great ending to our vacation! I made the reservation on the morning of New Year’s Eve for dinner before heading home and wasn’t expecting much as other sushi restaurants were fully booked. Man, was I wrong! The special blue fin o toro they just got that day made the meal very enjoyable: either on the top of the inside out roll or as sashimi by itself. I’d say the blue fin o taro is fresher and smoother than what we had before on the continental US. The inside out roll totally overshadowed the Hawaiian roll both in terms of texture and flavor. The freshly grated wasabi added a sweat additional touch. The Udon looked simple but was yummy, with soft yet firm noodle, crispy tempura which tasted great dipping in the soup, even the plain looking inari was flavorful by itself or dipped with seaweed sesame seasonings. The world famous dynamite shrimp was a little disappointing with too thick of an outer shell. The molten cake was a great closure for the meal with smooth hot melting chocolate lava mixed with the cold vanilla ice cream. The presentation was pleasant too. Our server was also great, explaining the daily specials clearly with prices (which had never happened to us before and we had fallen for outragedly prized daily specials in other resultants). She was also super nice and understanding, putting our dessert order in before we finished entrees since it takes 15 minutes to prepare. The only regret is we didn’t put in the order for blue fin collar soon enough that it was gone by the time we ordered (there was only one that night.) On top of the delicious food and friendly service, the restaurant is very reasonably prized. Definitely our best meal on the Big Island and a great sendoff to the New Year!

A top tier sushi restaurant. Highlights of our meal were definitely the udon, the inside out roll, and molten cake.
With an unassuming description, we didn’t expect much out of the udon, but I think it was worth its price. The noodles had an incredible texture: soft but solid. The broth was quite salty, but that made it good for dipping the plentiful tempura shrimp and vegetables that it came with. Even the Inari surpassed expectations, with a nice slightly sour sushi rice in the middle.
The inside out roll was amazing as well. Topped with a bluefin otoro, the solid foundation of a sushi roll (tuna, avocado, rice) provided a great launchpad for the incredibly melty otoro. The otoro was excellent quality and gave the sensation of melting in your mouth. The sauce on top went really well with the otoro as well.
The molten cake was absolutely delicious. I generally love a warm melty chocolatey dessert topped with ice cream, and this did not disappoint. The red cherry syrup was a great addition to the chocolate and vanilla combination too. This dish lived up to its name and our expectations.
Dynamite shrimp was pretty good. I liked the flavor, but would have preferred less tempura and more shrimp.
Hawaiian roll was not that good. Would not order again although it was pretty cheap.

Started right off with the special Salmon rolls of the day, absolutely sublime. Next was the ribs on the appetizer menus, amazing sweet and savory melt in your mouth delicious. Karaage chicken served with a spicy sweet sauce was very crispy and tasty. Local Kona beer was a very nice accompaniment to this excellent meal. Finally the Kona banana foster really was phenomenal. Service is spectacular, definitely a great dining experience.

We got beautiful, authentic Bento Boxes to go for our day at the beach. They were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend for a picnic. We got the blackened cod bento box, the salmon bento box, and the tamago sushi box.

This is seriously one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The sushi was so high quality, the drinks were boozey enough to get me happy without tasting overly alcoholic, and the staff was so incredibly pleasant. If I lived here, I would go at least once a week. This is a place you do NOT want to miss during your trip to kona if you're a sushi fan.

The half-price sushi from 4:30 till 6:00pm is an outstanding value. The rolls are delicious and varied. Especially like the avacado Mac nut salad. They were very accommodating to our large group.

My parents treated me and my boyfriend to a wonderful dinner here at Kenichi Pacific in Kona. This was one of the best meals I have ever had in Kona. Our waiter was an amazing host, letting us all know the specials and catering to your many requests. 110% was given to our enjoyment. I strongly suggest reservations to ensure a seat at the table.
